MVC3 Pre-release thread

Yeah that's the thing akuma seems to be better than Ryu in every aspect. I guess it keeps people happy being able to have both on their team and then they can throw in Chun Li or something. But yeah he's definitely not rushdown king like half the other cast but his damage is awesome and he's got great supers can't wait to play him. Also gotta wonder what they did with his teleport. I wonder if it'll have much recovery and if it'll be super cancellable.

Taskmaster looked kinda meh to me in the damage and mixup department but he does have great normals. Doesn't he like copy people's powers in the comics or something similar? Haven't seen him do anything like that yet, maybe something like Rogue's kiss so he grabs one of their moves (though more along the lines of copying an uppercut rather than a fireball).

Bro teh fireballs look mean as. Akuma's ones look freaking dope.

I don't like taskmaster already. He yells 'judo throw' when he throws. And 'mighty swing' when he swings. Akuma's just all like 'rahhhhhhhhhhhhh' and 'fuccccccccccckkk youuuuuuuuu'.

nah, i think there's enough difference between the two, even though they appear to be super similar.

Taskmasters power is to be able to copy anyones movement.  He only has to see it once, and then he can do it.  So he can copy like someone doing a backflip or something like that, but can't do anything that requires a power.

Plus I think he has the usual, slightly faster/stronger/fitter/etc that most mutants have.

nah, that copy thing is is his only gig. i think in the UDON mini they enhanced to copy ability to include being able to play them back in 'double time' but it fucks him over real quick.

This may sound gimmicky and some what redundant to you pros, but I would've liked some mean as team supers between unique characters. Like if Taskmaster and Deadpool or an Avengers mix were on the same team and you input a special command instead of the generic team super command, they'd do a super unique to them. But meh...

I think I'll use Spencer since he has dreads like Eddy, Zero cause the Power Ranger is doing his voice and I guess Taskmaster since he looks pretty cool.

The way shit is shaping up, that team will probably still be pretty fucking decent, depending entirely on how sent plays.

I think I've settled on Wesker/Tron/Hulk for now - I'm no MVC expert, but

Tron drill assist + Wesker = lock down & chip + teleport gimmicks ?
Hulk = massive damage and safe tsunami assist chip ?

I havent seen any decent wekser footage yet. But trons drill pushes them too far to be useful as a trap, unless wesker can switch sides before the drill hits.

Hulk does good damage but if you want chip youre better off taking doom rocks by the looks.

I've got like 20 different team combinations im looking at.

Amaterasu/Storm/Skrull/Tron/Phoenix/Trish are all looking like chars I want to have a crack at on point. But im fucked if i know what assists to use to back them up. At the moment though im feeling Amaterasu/Storm/someone. Someone being an assist i can use to either lock down, or an AA (hopefully one i can combo off)

Im also kind of liking Taskmaster. And ill be interested in seeing Sent and Hsien Ko when theyre revealed. Admittedly, since Taskmaster and Akuma are unlockable characters, im not really considering them properly yet.
