My xbox power brick exploded, i've been too lazy/poor to call tech support for repair, so i'll get the PS3 version in the meantime

Well, our stock of SFIV arrived instore today.  I must say that the $200 collectors edition looks pretty cheap and nasty.  Was quite gutted to be honest.  Not that it will stop me buying it, but I cant help but feel that Capcom are making me their bitch...

I've read much the same on SRK... figures are pretty crappy, booklet is pathetic, anime isn't that great.

Oh well, yeah I'm totally Street Fighter's bitch, I accept the rapage.

Additionally, since my abel is crap, im thinking about taking up boxer. How steep is the learning curve on him for someone who you cna basically consider a beginner?

To get him solid it doesn't take much but he does have some execution intensive stuff(for street fighter at least) like ex armour kara cancels, focus attack dash ultras, and some difficult links and combos. He's definitely got stuff to keep you interested once you have the basics down.

Actually, I'm not so unhappy with the CE set - figures are ok, booklet is very small (but the combos-as-comics are cool!)... only thing I don't like is the disc case cover art :/

Erm, I found him pretty easy, but that's because I played Super Turbo boxer. For a complete newbie... he's reasonably different to the rest of the cast. Charge character with no projectiles, but good pressure game and some good invincible moves (headbutt, tap, ex dash).
Try him out, watch some vids, try out some stuff you saw in vids, watch more vids... he's worth getting the hang of
