Tournament format poll!

I'm setting up a tourney, but there are some time constraints if the tourney is to have no entrance fee. Basically this boils down to:
8 man bracket: Should be able to fit in best of 3 matches
16 man bracket: Will have to cut back to 1 game faceoffs

Alternatively, I should be able to wrangle more time if entrants are willing to pay. Consider that the MINIMUM number of games you could play would be 4 (2 losses for 2 faceoffs).

Entrance fee: This would likely be ~$5, and would probably allow a full best of 3 match tourney even with 16 people.
Pay as you go: This could get expensive for winners, since there are ~7 faceoffs which would equate to 14 < x < 21 games.
