Yeah even I didn't *love* it, for a start I hated Duke's actor - he could have been replaced by a cardboard cutout and it would have came across just the same. And that whole underwater fight scene at the end just sucked. And baroness should never be good.

But the more I hear about it (yeah I'm a big dork that reads GI Joe sites), they didn't know whether it would do well enough to secure a sequel, so everything is intentionally closed-but-left-open. There are lots of things in the novelisation that were changed, for example when Cobra Commander says 'you and what army' they actually escape from Duke, rather than him simply saying 'this one', end movie. And baroness says to duke that the brainwashing wasn't the only reason she became 'bad', she liked some of the things she was doing as well. And Storm Shadow told Snake Eyes just before falling into the ice that he didn't kill Hard Master.

Lots of stuff like that which would have actually been better for us Joe fans.
