ryu's look is iconic, its not really something you can mess with and still keep the same spirit of the character. like superman, he's essentially had the same look for decades. you cant fiddle with that and not alienate people.

i wouldve liked ken and akuma having a little more personality and design in their alts though. keep ryu basic and simple, and go balls out on those two.

If any game has millions of ways to play any single character, it would be Tekken. I love SF but bashing Tekken for a false reason is just dumb. Tekken's customization doesn't take away from the game at all. In fact, it lets the user put his own spin on their favorite characters. Just like all the PC Street Fighter users do. Put Zangief in a Pikachu outfit, he's still gonna piledrive ppl to death. It's all about player preference. If ppl don't like to customize their character, they won't. Simple as that.

Yeah Ryu the generic Karate guy and all of his clones are all way cooler than any of the characters in Namco fighters.It would completely ruin street fighter if they let us put things like suits, hats, and shoes on the characters.Does capcom even hear what they are saying?

Personally I'd rather development time on a fighting game go towards gameplay or something useful, rather than giving your char 1 of a million hats. And yeah, making customisation options DOES take away from other development time.

As for the PC version, yeah it wasn't the dev team spending their time doing the costumes for it.

Im guessing you never played tekken at the arcade, tekken tag and t5 were prob the best tekken games
I used to play so much tekken i think ive spent about $500 at least on the game in the arcade alone and i used to get free games cos i was mates with the timezone people

but Tekken turned shit

and customizing is average anyway your limited to whats in the game look at devil jin in t5, chains on feet/waist some new horns wow so customizable

do you still play tekken 1,2,3,4,tag,5,5dr i doubt you do
compared to sf2,3, marvel,cvs, these games are 5-20 years old (considering tekken is up to 15 years old)

Personally I've always preferred SF characters over Tekken. Tekken's characters seem to have no soul or personality. And their visual design is too "bits and peicey" for my tastes. Tekken is too trendy and modern for my tastes.

However it's good for some people though. Not everyone likes SF's somewhat more humorous designs. It's good that they've got both games so that people can choose and play what they like.

I'd never be drawn to Tekken though as what most people like about it is exactly what I dislike about it.

Damn you barnstorm, you just remind me about those chars being the same aye, but theyre hardly in the same game, and Jack not like Kuma, Maybe in TAG theyre in the same game or T6.

I didnt like tag cos i was shit at it, and i'm allowed to hate it, i played tekken 123 and 4 at the arcades when i use to slang drugs in town.I never played T5dr but loved the first T5. Customise was fun for me , my Kazuya had all the Devil's parts, and in the other one he had a gun in his pants and a gold chain with loc's on so he was G'd up from the feet up. If you dont wana custom then dont do it.
Anyways i'm not even getting t6 because the dumb promoters put it out at the same time MW2 is coming out and there's no option there.

I love SF4, i'm new to the series and i wana see new shit, ken in a suit (optional) Ryu in a hoodie and jeans ( again optional ) . I undrstand you old school guys wana keep it the same, but that shits boring cuz.Any ways thanks to the 30 year old SF fans us youngens get stuck with all the same shit.
