Hi Guys.
Just wondering how many people are interested for 2v2 at Giga Net cafe.
This going to be held either on 5th Sept or 19th Sat,
both are Saturaday. Depends how many people are keen incoming 2 weeks or 4 weeks.
Please give me some feed back and I will start organising it.
This 2v2 will be pooled from A, B, C, and D or even E and F if there are more people joining.
Each pool have 4 teams, the 2 teams win the most goes into the winner brackets and the other two will go to the loser and then work your way up.
This 2v2 can either be random list or choosen, atm we randomly select seem working very well.
About Characters, I dont think there is any problem
l am not sure how much this will cost, and depends if we can find any sponsor, or prizes donated.
Please give me some advice, si I could post further information.

I think you should team up with Ryan since you two meet each other quite often and u guys can practice a lot together. Share your SF4 opinion and knowledge. I believe Ryan is a great player if he takes sf4 a bit more seriously. He can definitely make it to top 10.
Btw. we (students) will have 2 weeks holiday after Friday 28th August. (holiday starts from 28th August and end on 13rd Sep) It would be great if we can hold 2v2 tournament between that time so that we don't have to worry about tests and assignments just like the last one.
Not sure about those dates, but im keen for this.
And all the REAL MEN came 47th.

Best day to do it (for me :D) is 5th Sep. Weeks before or after that day, I'm very busy with tests and assignments. And I really don't want to experience what I'm facing again.

Yeah, Hue - plenty of people came up to me and asked if they were able to shoot off for a cigarette or to get some food, no problem at all. Also you could have said that you wanted to use your own stick wherever possible, I was trying to just put you on the main screen because I thought your matches would be good for people to watch!
Or alternatively we could have set a PS3 up on the main screen earlier - then I could have put more Viper matches up there as well! Doh!
It's all good Alan. I didn't want to cause anyone trouble and keep swapping stick for every matches i play might be annoying for everyone to watch also. I just hope that people enjoyed watching my last 5 matches, because those are the only ones I could feel confident to do combo and ultra.
I can't wait to see the vids of my matches to see how big different I was playing without/with my own stick.

Its not really. Dont go getting jealous of my post count now :P Plus the majority of my posts are generally pretty valid. As for this, I'm just saying that i agree with andy. The 2v2s probably wont have a turnout even remotely close to the tourney. Dreaming is fine, but we need to keep a pretty level head for this.
Also, my primary concern would be having too many events spaced too close together. I dont want it to dull the hype. At the same time, we definitely have to keep something going so we dont LOSE the hype.
having regulars is fine as it keeps teh skill level consistant and keeping people interested etc.
But face teh realisty, you won't get the turn out like the one we just had as people won't come all teh way from blah to enter every few months.
What you are looking at is the local players and possibly hamilton if they are keen enought.
so in my perspective, counting the Auckland players and those that maybe interested, you are looking at about 20 or odd players?? its just my observation.

It seems as it fits teh majority of the people here, I will post up teh tournament details this weekend.
great, i just hope that people will take this tournament as serious as the last one. Expecting to have at least 10 teams.

for those who are keen to join but lack partners, we can help teaming you up here or on the day as people turn up :)
I will have a section for already team players and another section for those who need partners and we can pair you guys up along the way. I believe most players now are at a decent level therefore I would think this can turn pretty even. It is the best chance to learn from each other as you will go through tactics for each match with your partner.

alternatively Giga is wanting to let you folks Jam on street Fighter all day long on the 12th of september from 12 pm to 8 pm!!! cost: $5 per head.
There will be a Mini casual competition held there, top three players will be rewarded with free gaming time. At this point he has offered something on the line of but may changed at a later date for the btter:
1st: $100 gaming card
2nd: $50 gaming card
3rd: $30 gaming card
Rules will be the same as the national tournament, seeding can be considered but up to you guys just let me know or we can have it purely random :P
We will be running 3 machines at once and with the amount of time we have been given it will be sweet!!
Anytime left over it is for us to abuse and Jam the hell outa anythign we want :)
We can do stuff like money match and stuff with the reamining time, its up to us.
Any suggestions/ comments please let me know, this event is purely Giga's idea and I am only helping with administrations.

tbh I'm pretty unenthusiastic in general about going to any events in akl atm. No-one really plays online on xbox anymore, so basically I haven't played sf4 for two months now. I can't practice BB, so that's out. All that's left is MvC2, but we're pretty much only playing that for giggles since the port sucks.
Not really a lot of point in spending time and money driving to auckland only to play games that I'm completely out of practice in.

Fluxcore, why don't you jump on PC? there are plenty of great players on PC, why do you have to stick with xbox?
In the whole time since the PC version came out, I've only ever had two successful games, one vs you and one vs ashe. Also I think the port is kind of strange, feels weird to play it.

I am sure you can give me a better answer than that as I've played all three versions of SF4 and the only thing I can say that is weird is that the speed differnce. PC > Xbox360 > PS3

Some of them I find one frame links easier, some of them I find some things impossible (I have never successfully done c.lk, s.lp, c.lk xx ultra with viper on the PC, whereas I can do it probably 40% of the time on xbox)
The speed is different on all of them. But it begs the question as to which one should be considered 'official'. US uses console, Japan uses Arcade. Id be tempted to say arcade, but who knows...
Additionally, the faster the game is, the more RSF's i seem to be able to hit >_<
I'm more consistent on PS3 than on XBox and Arcade, but I assume that's just because I play on PS3 a LOT more
Have yet to try the PC version though

LOL 40% , thats not consistent, i couldnt get it 100% either, that combos to bullshit, can you hit the FFF yet , sometimes i can do it consistently then others never, i reckon that combo's more important/necesary to win.
Did I say it was consistent? No. But it's more consistent than 'never'.
And no, I can't do FFF consistently, I guess it would help my viper game, but it's not like it would dramatically change the matches that I lose, I lose them for other reasons.
Also I pretty much dropped Viper about 3 months back, so there's not a lot of point getting into a dick tugging match about it.

Oh man, why did you drop her for? Shes cool, a bit hard to win with her in some matches but when you get a couple of combos theyre dizzed and fucked, Do you play with all the chars or just a few, i think Gen gets the most spectacular perfects with me and sometimes viper, el fuerte alot harder to win with than Viper aswell.
Flux mains Seth. Which is awesome. Seth is great to watch, and interesting to fight.

Seth is another one of those guys that are hard to win with, Sagats full ultra takes off nearly all of his life, man it must be hard maining only Seth. Flux must get fucked off bad losing to people with worst skill than him, kinda like you bill with fuerte lol.
What makes you think I lose to people with less skill? I don't have any particular difficulty in winning with Seth apart from against the Yifan's crew, and I haven't exactly played against them much.

I think playing Seth gives you a longer-term view of things. Also to play the game exactly the same whether you've got 100% health or 1%. I just don't really care if I get hit by an ultra unless it's going to kill me, since I'm more or less fighting the same fight before and after. If anything it's easier once they don't have ultra anymore.

Um yeah that ultra thing was just an example, i meant his hp being super shit in general. But yeah i do kinda get rush happy when i got a mean lead, it just sux when Seth 100 hits = 5 Tiger uppercuts (another example). But dont get me wrong Seth is cool but i wouldn't take him to war with everyone in the roster.
what Flux is trying to say is that it gives you the practice you need to play at a constant level not matter what the situation is.
Seth is already very imba from what I can see and if you say to make him have life advantages too then it maybe inbalance... but in saying some will disagree as usual.
He is really strong, but I don't expect him to place highly at many tournaments because he simply gets randomed out too much. You guess wrong twice against a good ryu and you are absolutely dead. Again on the plus side, it also teaches you to completely ignore perfects against you :P
