What a weekend that was! :)
With the first NZ National SFIV tournament over I would like to say a few words about the event.
We had a very large turnout with 47 people entering to test their might. Spectators and supporters on the day also made the event alot better with their full support during the matches. There were alot of laughs, cries, screams and of course the usual "damager" comments flying around. There were some very cool looking custom arcade sticks on the day which I will say if you own one of those beauties you should be very proud!
Congratulations to Simon "simonfish" for taking out first spot with Kevin "Devilstar" in second and Ben "Toomeke" coming in third.
We from NZism would like to say a big thank you to all the sponsors who provided prizes for the tournament. Big thank you too Toomeke and Geneterror for your work with the First prize custom stick, which we will post pictures of once the final touches on it are complete.
Thank you to RVB for providing the venue in which we could host the tournament.
Anyway, I know what you guys have really been wanting to see and here they are :D
More will be uploaded when thy are ready. Enjoi!
Shot Stu bro. Theres some good matches in there, what a bunch of fucking pro's lol. I would say a few things about what you's should of done but now you's can watch them and beat your selves up about it lol, nah but seriously you's all definately deserved to get that far.
New Zealands finest, well done good job fellas.
Oh yeah and not one fake kick, i'm disgusted.
Well I'm not going to hold back :P
Smoof! You were doing so well vs Andy! You really don't have to jump in so much (as much as I know you love The Smoof), the only reason you lost most of those rounds was because you jumped in on him and he DPed you into whatever... You can afford to sit back on a lead and just deal with the rest of the match, there's no hurry to finish him off with risky shit!
Gankatron: OMG, you were looking great vs Hue... a few too many reckless EX rush punches though, easily punishable from those ranges! Also, at one place in the first round where you could have gotten a free throw and put him back in the corner, and then an unlucky second round (missed the punish combo for the win EDIT I just realised, when Hue whiffs the dragon punch, you should have just done ultra, rather than the low jab, headbutt which failed. Keep things simple!)... and then the next round bam! Then Hue awakened... but great stuff, keep it up! You're going to be the next Toomeke :)

Although this is the ideal punish its hard and risky to execute in a real match. Light dragon punch puts Ryu at -17 frames on block and is active for 14 frames. Balrogs Ultra has 11 frames of start up. Basically you have 20 frames (roughly 0.33...secs) at max to react and decide that Ultra is your best punish. Also you have to worry about having charge which Fong didn't have in this match. Jab Jab Headbutt Ultra does crap damage but its safe and it still gives you the positional advantage of the corner.
Well over my reaction test time! :P
nice az vids stu .
Hollllllaaaaaaaaa !!!!!!!!!

yeah those are the ones you got to anticipate rather than react upon.
I have only more videos to upload (one being my favourite of all) so hopefully I will get them edited and uploaded tonight.
Sooo, what does everyone think of the videos? ;D

Also, Ben is the ultimate nerd! Lenny and Alan are like the knowledge bomb kings while Ben is the ultimate knowledge nerd!
I have no qualms about stating that Ben knows more about SFIV than me, he's played it a lot more against a lot more competition (and better competition).
Yeh thanks heaps for vidding and uploading the matches Stereo ;]

Also lucky that intellect don't count for dick in Street Fighter compared to reflexes, execution and the almighty intuition!

I reckon he did quite well against you to be honest. Just too much of the smoofs elbow. Remember smoof, you are not The Rock okay ;)
The one match I wish I had recorded was the match against Smoof and Euan. That was a really good match even though both of you were smack talking the whole way through.
