Title: JLF super glue does not mix good
Post by: redtie on January 31, 2011, 11:47:24 PM
Pretty sure I fucked up my wire harness on my SE stick. Won't respond to any direction. And I think its because I tried to super glue the connection, glue must have run down the holes for the pins and insulated it or something

Solutions? New PCB? New Harness? New 5 Pin connector?

If you cant actually get it off now (given that its super glued) My guess would be new 5 pin connector/harness.

How did you glue it? Did you just shove some glue on the harness and plug it in? Or did you just put glue around the outside of the holes? Unless you used a fair bit of glue i wouldnt have thought that it would insulate the pins like that. Meh. Not sure. Thats my guess, but this is more a Ben/Alan question.

You could always solder new wires directly to the pcb on the JLF and see if that works.

Next time use a hot glue gun if your wanting to glue something.

I used that runny/water like superglue, so I think it did ran those holes and blocked the connections. I'm thinking about soldering onto the pcb directly if coincascade doesn't have any harness's for sale. Yes, I think hot glue would be the better glue next time haha
