Yo i know heaps of you guys do computers ay. I just started my bach and was wondering what you guys think is the best thing to get into and you reasons.
I was thinking programming cos mad cash stacks. But i heard it's a job where you don't communicate much lol. Am not sure path to start taking ay. I get the electives next sem or next year.
Just want to jump in early to see what you guys who already finished think I should do.
Hmm... just research and specialise.
I think specialising is the key. By research, I mean, research in what you would like to specialise in.
Shot for replying bro. Comon other guys!! I know you's have graduated. ANything you's regret? Or think ' shit i should've gotten into that' ?
ATM i'm thinking programing cos you get paid the most in that. And Business Analyst. But that one sounds hard to get experience for which employers always want and shit.
Programming is pretty good money - but it depends - there's bigger money in corporate jobs, whatever you choose though. Better dust off the suit
Don't do anything business analyst related.
It's boring/shit and you won't be able to find an entry job unless you're an honours or master. FML
Also, go to class.
I fucked about, now I'm paying for it.

You mean don't skip class to do assignments and instead sit on nzism, eventhubs and srk waiting for news/posts instead of doing anything? No wonder I'm failing.

yep sounds like me, when i took out a $7500 student loan in the early 90's in Akl. Maori organisation; i wanted computer animated art as my prime goal but family follied me into maori arts and craft. Weaving flax, basic maori language and 1 hour a week master carving. Teacher was gone for 70% of the day and 75% of the class was at pub and 10% were at yifans etc gaming.took me 10 years to pay that loan back. Why i dont want to take another loan out but a diving course $6-10k tempts me..you should youtube it wezzy lol , see if its your enviroment. GL.
Nah i go to class everyday. I'm just drunk or/and blazed most the time.

I do the facebook procrastination. Go home to do assignment and sit on this for 4 hours. Then i'll feel like i deserve a break and go get drunk haha. Facebook make most people fail , i'm so sure of it.
Yer i might just get into programming cos there's heaps of jobs and shit.
And Diving? Nah it's algud bro, i will probably show up drunk and fuckin drown or something haha. Last time i went diving drunk it was horrible and i'm lucky to be alive. I tried to skull all the beers before my mates came back up for air haha.
My only advice is this: Don't do anything if you aren't going to take it seriously. You can study anything you like but if you only just scrape through you won't get a job.
Yer bro hard ay. Ima get into this programming shit seriously i reckon.
Is there really lots of jobs in programming? I fucking hate assembly and my java is still ass. What would be the better languages for jobs? I'm thinking C++. Also considering getting into databases, cause I guess it's not too hard and maths will come into it a bit as well I guess. I'm learning Japanese on the side, but I don't think my dream job of a game tester for CAPCOM is gonna come through anytime soon lol. I so want ROROABC's job or something similar.
Objective-C, then make iphone apps. Lots of money in that.

Except there aren't really any "careers" as an iOs developer just yet - particularly in NZ, unless you do it yourself/in your spare time/whatever
C++ is good - we pretty much hire a new C++ dev every 3 months lol
