So another forum I visit has a thread like this to discuss stuff you have watched recently. Has def helped me find out about a few other movies I would never have heard of otherwise.
Watched Summer Wars over the weekend.
Really enjoyable movie, best full length anime I have seen since The girl who leapt through time. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Summer_Wars it's about online worlds.
Suzannah and I laughed at one bit. One of the characters plays a virtual online martial arts game. At one point they try and set him up with some gear to play on and he demands a CRT because the HD screen has to many microseconds of lag haha.

One of the most disturbing movies I've ever watched. It's a docudrama from 1984 about the US and Russia getting into a nuclear war, from the point of view of a British town that is near where a nuke is dropped. Basically everything is fucked and Britain is knocked back to the dark ages. You know it's serious when every person who has commented about the movie on imdb says that it gave them nightmares 20 years ago and now after watching it again it's just as traumatic. It's fairly well based on actual scientific data, and the realism is what makes it really chilling.
It also ties in nicely with the following blog post from Fidel Castro not more than a few weeks ago:
http://www.granma.cu/ingles/reflections-i/24-agosto-nuclear.html
excerpt: http://tywkiwdbi.blogspot.com/2010/09/thoughts-about-nuclear-winter.html
Recently watched Bruce Lee's "Way of the Dragon" was OK. But the Bruce Lee Norris fight was really captivating. Finally realised where that Alpha One Birdie/Rose stage comes from.

I saw this a few years back. Holy mother fucker, this movie is brutal. Can't say I had nightmares, though back in the days of the Cold War I could imagine this movie would have peoples minds wandering :o
The ending is horrific imo.
Hot tub time machine - total rubbish
Prince of persia - ok
Daybreakers (again) - pretty cool
The expendables - ok
Date night - boring
I have the 'eden of the east' anime movie to watch soonish, the series was cool.
Thanks Alan, I'm keen to watch that now!
BOMB THE SYSTEM
mean graff movie....always gets me fired up and in the mood for destruction 8)
watched myself some 'grown ups' yesterday. i liked it.
entertaining movie, even if there's basically no drama of any kind. it has its nasty but hilarious moments, but theyre not too overblown.
keen on the daughters of rob schneiders's character in that movie haha :D

Mean g, fuck i seen some rugged as ones ay, need to get the names for them off my mate though.
Richard g, you can have Rob Schneider's ugly daughter lol. I though that movie was pretty dry, considering Adam Sandler and Chris Rock were in it.
You niggaz should watch'kickass'. I honestly though it was badd. I was blazed when i watched it though. It's funny as and got mean action/fighting scenes, and the geek dude fucks this fine ass bitch in it yo.
Kickass was amazing, loved that film.

Talk about TV season starting in the states this week. I've downloaded 18 episodes of things just this
week already! How will i watch all of this???!!!!!
Like what? Any recomendations
I just watched misfits and that show is gold
Depends what you're into :P
Playing right now i'd say Sons Of Anarchy/Dexter/30 Rock/Community are all pretty top tier.
And True Blood but it just finished. I also have a soft spot for the latest seasons of smallville. :D
Vampire Diaries is a bit weak sauce compared to True Blood but i still watch it anyway.
[edit to add Fringe to my top tier list of currently playing. :P ]
Unfortunately i was born in England and so have a strong aversion towards most things from there. :P
(there are a few exceptions, the office etc) But otherwise i'm easy to please. Hehe
But these are the shows that i watch and have on my drive (including some that just recently ended)
24
30 Rock
Better Off Ted
Blue Mountain State
Breaking Bad
Castle
Community
Cougar Town
Covert Affairs
Dark Blue
Dexter
Dollhouse
Eastwick
Flash Forward
Fringe
Glee
Harpers Island
Hellcats
Heroes
How I Met Your Mother
Hung

Rookie Blue
Royal Pains
Rubicon
Smallville

Sons of Anarchy
The Mentalist
The Unusuals

Trust Me
V
Warehouse 13
Shows just started that i got but haven't watched yet:
Undercovers
The Defenders
Raising Hope
Running Wilde
Chase
The Event
Lone Start
Lost Girl
Hawaii Five
Dexter and Sons Of Anarchy are indeed top tier!
'Its always sunny in Philidelphia' is gold (and underated)
just watched 'Get him to the Greek' pretty funny, Diddy is actually the funniest dude in it.
My flatmate loves Its always sunny in Philidelphia and always asks me to download it but i'm too far behind to
get involved now with all the other shows i've got on the go. :P
Geneterror ~ Lol, i call our Intern at work "Prospect" even tho no one at work even watches that show. Or sometimes
half sack. And he left two weeks ago and i call the new intern Prospect too. Haha.
Haha that's awesome :D
Recently I watched "The girl with the dragon tattoo" and the sequel "The girl who played with fire". I highly recommend both of them.
Yeah I have the second one of my HDD but not the first, I keep meaning to go and hunt it down. Did you ever get a chance to watch the rest of those Japanese/Chinese DVDs Gino?
imo the first is MUCH better then the second. Still got to watch the third one
Watched Summer Wars, was pretty cool

Na, been too busy with this fucked up wintec project. I'll bring then back the next time I or someone from Hamilton is coming to an event. I could post them if you want.
'Machete' is freakin awesome.
also 'Catshit One' episode 1 is out now if anyones has been waiting on it. its pretty cool. bunnys and camels in 3d rendered in war action.
Bro is there much Jessica Alba in it?
I was gonna watch it but that guy as a main char just reeks of disappointment.
Danny...Trejo......Disapp.....
Fuck off Weazzy.
I dunno. I just thought there was a reason he was the one line guy that get's killed or wipes the MAIN guy's ass.
Those movies use to be cool when i was young but it might be lol shit is what i'm afraid of. All Stevan Segals new movies made me sick. Like i was the biggest universal soldier fan, and the new one's been out for ages and i just walk pass it thinking fuck that shit haha. I wanna watch that movie where Van Damme mocks himself though , that's some funny shit.
Universal Soldier are all terrible movies. The one with Goldberg was the worst one ive seen. Apparently the latest one is actually OK in the grand scheme of universal soldier.
And Van Damme doesnt mock himself. He genuinely believes hes a good actor, and the movie youre talking about isnt him mocking himself, its him with his head so far up his own ass that it LOOKS like hes mocking himself, because he's taking himself so seriously.
Danny trejo is fkn beast.
Wholly shheett. That niggaz as gangster as he looks.
I don't want his porkchop......I want his liife.
that doco looks good as. He's really hardcore as Machette, its gory as fuck.
Jessica Alba is kinda the main actress, she's too hot for me to watch it with my pants on.
Also surprisinlgy, Michelle Rodriguez is super hot in this, she's lost heaps of weight and is fly as kites.

of course you would, you like your womans on the thick side dont you?
well theres that, and michelle rodriguez and 'hot' never really seem to go together.
i mean, i was going 'wtf' the first time i watched fast and furious and found that she was the love interest for vin diesel.
I thought the very same thing. I guess she kinda suited the girl racer greasemonkey love interest tho.
but yeah she's pretty hot in Machette. I'd take her on a day trip to santa barbara, hit up some charming shops.
BUY SOME ANTIQUES!!!!!
saw jackass 3D tonight. when they actively set up proper gags for it, the 3D was awesome. otherwise, it didnt really add much.
and as usual, steve-o got the most disgusting stunts. one involving sweat made me gag, ugh so gross.
and pontius got his dick out WAY too often.
Just got both OVAs of Jojos. Will watch this week.
Hmmmm having a horror movie night, any recomendations?
Wanting to watch this, should be called Ninjas vs Cowboys
ãƒ'レード (Parade)
This a Japanese film I just watched and it's easily one of the best movies I've seen.
The movie is full of dark humor, the main plot in this movie is constructed through several sub-stories of each of the tenants living in the apartment. This is something to watch by yourself where you're not distracted by anyone or anything.
Note: I imported the DVD of this, I'm not sure if there is a subbed version online.
Soo... I haven't seen this, but this movie could be relevant to my interests:
http://www.stuff.co.nz/entertainment/celebrities/4347087/Portmans-lesbian-scene-awkward
ooooh yeah, Padme and Jackie from that 70's show getting some HLA acion on.
oh yeah.....HLA ;D
Fuck i read the first two lines and got instantly hooked.
Hangin outt........
in Natalie Portman's muff........
Doing the same old thing................
That we did last week........
Fuck i don't know which one's hotter. Probably still Nat cos she's bangin.
bro, natalie portman. the other gal never did it for me.
Kinda lookin foward to this one.
Also, I lol'd when I heard the title but the trailer for Cowboys & Aliens looks pretty cool haha:
http://thedailywh.at/post/1601515837/movie-trailer-of-the-day-first-official-teaser
woah green lantern looks soooo awesome !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
just got back from machete and i thought it was ridiculous and awesome. my only gripe is that the finale was a bit weak imo.
and holy fuck, budafist was right. michelle rodriguez is fiiiiiiiiine in that movie ;D
She slimed down and her body is smoking in that movie.
Alba fucking lost her curves and weight. She looked like a stick insect! Stupid Pendejo

Scott Pilgrim vs the World
I fuckin loved. Wife thought it was the best film she's seen in ages. The film score makes awesome background music for marvel :D
Latest Harry Potter, part 1.
After watching this, and never have read the books, I'm assuming that the final book is too long for movie, but too short for two. It's like LOTR all over again. 5 minutes, watching some kids walking. And waiting. And sleeping. That sounded real pedo...
Rocky Horror Show, the stage show. Was weird, but catchy. Audience was full of long time fans. Which was all good, except when they all stood up for the Time Warp, I mean, come on, yeah, you're a fan, cool, I'm trying to watch it for the first time, sit the fuck down.
LOL you shoulda got up and started cranking that soulja boy lol.
Nah fuck that, crank that fuckin timewarp g.

LOL fuck she's always been skinny g. I reckon she was the baddest in idol hands g. She's fine as fuck in that shit.
Cause she was what, 18 in that? :D
But yes, i also watched Dark Angel at the time and thought she was banging.
went to a preview screening of tangled today, disneys latest animated feature.
reckon it was awesome, really really pretty. ive come to the conclusion that 3D suits animated features much more than live action.
Cheers Richard. Was going to take my niece and nephew to it. Did you see it in 3D? Should I take them to 3D or just normal?
3D definitely. it's real subtle the way they go about using but it's awesome and everything just looks so much nicer.
i think the only reason to see it in standard is if 3D borks your eyes
Will give it a go, cheers dude.
Watched Tron...
Give it a miss. Plain boring and not worth a movie ticket. Best to wait till it comes out on TV. Thats right, TV! Don't even download it unless you really wanna watch it!
What a vibe ruiner Stu, I was gonna go watch that in the holidays.
Oh well I'm sure I can find something else.
aww stink. was kinda hype for that movie
Sorry Graeme, just have to warn people out there. Thought it might be good but ended up dragging on for 2 hours. Made me so sad :( (and I literally fell asleep TWICE during it)
Haha, I'd rather know now if it's crap :-*
Looks like I'll be watching the Soul Eater series again over Xmas.

Streets of Rage 2 - Final Stage plus Ending - Axel - Normal
Best last boss theme
Best last stage
Best series of the game
Best ending ;D :P ::)
One of the Epic old school Sega Genesis best games in all times... ;D
Recently watched about 20 eps of Naruto Shippuden, the end eps for the Pain arc. Was quite good and only watched them because of finishing Naruto Shippuden Ultimate Storm. Also have to saay some of the cut scenes from the game were far nicer to watch than in the anime. Would be nice to watch an anime in cel shaded for a change.
Also watch The Trip which was a fucking laugh and funny watching Steve Coogan act himself. Lol. Bruce Lee my brother was a great movie. Takes a while to get into it but is a decent flick by the end of it. Kinda made in the same vain as Ip Man.
Currently watching Soul Eater, Monster (Cheers anime boys), Deadwood and the first season of Sorparnos. Fuck Sorpranos is superb to watch.
Sopranos is awesome but I've seen it all to many times now. Deadwood is AMAZING!

Was it me that told you to watch Monster? Yehyah if it was. Someone listened to my suggestion. Are you enjoying it?
It's going well and it's the kinda of anime I like too. Not really into that Code Geass though. Maybe watched about 4 episodes and I just didn't get into it. Though I did like watching it with the Jap commentary.
What's Code Geass about again? I don't think I've seen it.

Basically, I want to know what style of animation I should call it. 3D celshading animation? CG? ???
watched superman batman : apocalypse yesterday .
pretty cool , nice animation . darksed is pretty badass in it .
also the A-team remake , wasnt that good though them flying the tank around was pretty fuckin awesome

Last night tv3 had Hawaii Five-0 which was alright for a 1st episode it was good followed by NCIS: Los Angeles which is awesome mainly cause of how cool LL Cool J is lol, I prefer this one to the other one(gibb's squad).
I love watching these crime shows like Numbers, Burn Notice, 24 and Spooks which use to be on TV one and was pretty cool.
Also watched Justice League Crisis of Two Earths . A lot of these movies go under the radar which is a shame, because they are so awesome
Watched True Grit. It was a more serious movie than I first thought, but it was pretty cool. The little girl and Jeff Bridges were good, but I'm still not a fan of Matt Damon.
Haven't seen this yet, and after X-Men 3 I don't have high hopes, but I'll give it a watch anyway:
Hobo with a shotgun is fkn balls until he actually gets the shotgun then its awesome
That's because until that point, the movie is technically titled "Hobo". Adding a shotgun into the movie (and the title) instantly makes something more awesome.
Random examples out of the family DVD collection.:
Boy with a shotgun
Transformers with shotguns
Lord of the rings with a shotgun
Back to the future with a shotgun
300 Shotguns
Beverly Hills Cop 2 with a shotgun
Mortal Kombat with a shotgun
Chitty Chitty Bang Bang the shotgun
Billy Connoly: Live in LA with a shotgun
The list could go on forever.

Very good animation movie u like it man ::) ::) ::)
Yeah it really is beautiful. Mixed with such a sad bittersweet story.
I was meaning to watch it for ages. But didn't get round to it till now.
Just saw the ending of Madoka (most hyped up anime of last season, last 2 episodes were delayed til this morning cause of the earthquake and subs just came out). Was a pretty epic though a bit funky. She became God and recreated the universe...
Oh shit, I just realised she "died" on Good Friday. Funny shit.
Saw that film "Paul". Really funny decent film. Lots of sci fi easter eggs in there too. Look out for the tune being played when they enter the Roadhouse.
@Pinolicious Damn that looks awesome. Ever since I saw the Tekken 5 opening I've always hoped they'd release another Tekken using cgi. I just hope this is real and if it is they've got to have Eddy in it damn it.
It's got Alisa and it looks good. Yay
Did Kode Logic do that trailer? It looks like his ones. :P
Nah bro, not enough dubstep.

Cool let me know if they do.
Saw that new Karate Kid movie. Wasn't as bad as reviews made it out to be. Although I would even go so far as to say it's a re-imagining of the first Karate Kid as it uses almost the exact same plot and even reproduces some of the same scenes. Such as the scene where he goes to the bully's gym and the teacher challenges the protagonist to a challenge there. His teacher declines and says that his pupil will take on all the bullies at the upcoming tournament and points to a poster on the wall.
They even reproduce the scene where the bad guy teacher tells his student to "sweep the leg" just before the final match.
Strange that they didn't have English subtitles for the parts where people speak in Chinese though as it happens a fair bit in the film.
Water for elephant movie bit slow, was ok...average movie i rate it as. The movie Priest is kewl. Slayers on nitro bikes slaying bloodsucking vampires.
Quote from: CrazyMobius on May 15, 2011, 09:41:53 AMStrange that they didn't have English subtitles for the parts where people speak in Chinese though as it happens a fair bit in the film.
Downloaded version that was supposed to have external subs?
I remember my friends complaining there were no subs for the Russian parts of Eastern Promises and they just hadn't grabbed the external subs files when they downloaded it or were watching it on a media player/PS3 that didn't support soft/external subs haha.
Watched 'Your Highness'.
Best to wait for the DVD. Not even worth cheap Tuesdays.
Might check out Arthur on Cheap Tuesday, then Pirates 4 with my Movie, the whole time I'll have Michael Bolton stuck in my head.
Then it's Hangover part 2.
I'll give a quick sentence about each.
Holler!
I think Arthur would be best to wait for DVD unless you actually like russell brand.
