Title: Tatsunoko vs Capcom: UAS
Post by: Lennysaurus on January 18, 2010, 07:00:44 PM
This game is dropping in about 10 days time, and I am getting a little excited about it!

New characters!
Refining the cheese out of the game engine!

I am definitely going to be "acquiring" it, and I have 2 PS2 to Wii converters already!

Anyone else excited?

Would be if I had a Wii. Is the euro release at the same time? Or is wii region free?

Yeah not so much if i had a wii, but more if it came out on ps3/360. Cos then you'd still need to get a stick or a converter or some bullshit.

Off topic: Stu your avatar is blasphemy.

On topic: Ive gotta say im more interested in the US version of this than i was with the original. But i still dont think it will be enough to get me into it. The combo system seems a little too simple. Its like they took marvel and dumbed it down. Cool stuff in TVC is cool to be sure, but not nearly as impressive from a skill standpoint as marvel is. But because of the similarities, whenever i play this, i just feel like id rather be playing marvel.

My 2c.

wii is not region free. otherwise, i would not have needed a freeloader disc to play ntsc smash bros and partially fuck my wii over.

Bought (early copy) the game and the game isn't too bad at all.  Does feel like a more simplified version of MVC2 but still good to play and always good when there are new things to learn.

One thing and correct me if I am the only one to come across this.  When I was playing this game using standard AV, the game lags.  Some background, eg the one with massive flames bruning at the back - very laggy and feel sluggish.  Not just that level but overall.  I picked a component cable and set the Wii to display in 480p and the game feels 200% better now.  Plays soooooo much smoother now.

5 characters to unlock and silly thing is you have to buy 3P and 4P colours.  Tatsunoko crowd is diverse and interesting enough that learning them will be fun.  Ryu feels top tier at the moment as his Shinkuu Hadoken is so versatile and he feels to me to have quite a few options to link into his supers.

Hey Roco, is that the USA release version or the previous Jap version?

Also, never play wii on av.  Games look like poo :(

Thinking of renting this and a wii. Though I dunno if it's worth renting without, classic controllers, Gamecube controllers etc.

Installing the homebrew channel via bannerbomb with firmware 4.2 is easy as hell and you can download a app that is a freeloader, easier and free (no need for the FL disc anymore) plus you can have emulators and play backups (I got the US TvC aswell as no more heroes 2 :D)

I have the PAL release.

TBH, even using av the game "looks" fine but its more to do with the frame rate as it feels unstable but as I said that is sorted now that I have component.

I've set up my "profile" and have been allocated a FC.  I think thats all I need to do.  I selected Wi-Fi battles and picked friends/rank matches and couldn't find any one to match with.

managed to get this emulated on my pc today after overclocking the fuck out of my two dual core cpus .
runs great in traingmode on the training stage so at least I can practise some combos etc now on my TE stick till we get to go to leos again to play it so I wont be as nub next time muhahahhahaha

Hmm... tried to emulate on my PC

No overclocking and basic dolphin settings (like, the generic recommended setup), it's kinda laggy.

Might have to research a bit more, or suck it up and pad it on my wii haha.

I'm renting this and Wii for the week tomorrow. I had fun for brief game I played of it in the arcade, winning my first vs battle against Stu at Yifans.

I'll only be able to play on the remotes though.

i mean the set up for all of it. the infinite gauge and my lack of attention made it hard to see how much meter you need to do all that

Yes okay, next, lol

I should have realized that... damn, I wonder if Lenny is practising this now since I beat him to wave dash glitch :P (even though it was only a couple of successful times, lol)

Yeah, tbh itd be super hard to setup imo.

Cool glitch though.  Was doing it on my version. only works in the corrner and is kinda hard to time.  Also requires alot of meter.  Only really useful for running the clock, as you cant attack them using Joe with any normals or specials, only supers.  I honestly dont see anyone being able to do this in a proper match against an opponent that isnt brain dead.

I rented this and a Wii for a week, sadly I only had the shitty 1 button for attacks Remote controller and couldn't be bothered spending an extra 15 bucks on a game didn't own.

Had fun with it though all the same. Polimar, Joe the Condor, Alex, Batsu, V joe and Ryu are my favs.

The whole time I had it only managed to find one online match. Rocking a 100% win ratio. yus!

Its easier to do Karas inf on the CGOH ver than the UAS I found. Timing is so tight in the UAS ver, can only do 2 reps  :-\
