I guess this is part of MadCatz plan to take over as leading stick retailer in Japan... pretty big move - let's hope it gives us better competition for better sticks!

I have read a couple of Japanese blogs where people have gone to the trouble of importing or ordering a TE off Yahoo! Japan (basically trademe for japanese people), but that seems unlikely. Especially since you can just order Sanwa/Seimitsu parts and mod a Hori stick straight away. Things might be different if MadCatz had a base in Japan though.

Only Hori that you can straight mod are the HRAP's (unless the new sticks are the same).  All the other Hori sticks have the buttons soldered straight to the PCB.  Which is annoying to mod since the Hori PCBs are fragile and have a tendency of dying on you.

I know of two Hori PCB's dying on this forum already.
