Title: Arcade Stories.
Post by: CrazyMobius on June 16, 2010, 09:48:33 AM
After hearing an interesting tale from Cr8zyk1ll3r on another thread. I thought it would be fun to have a thread dedicated to weird and wacky experiences you have had at various arcades.

Ok here's one that I always remember. I was playing Dictator on A3 about 10 years ago or whenever it was popular. And I was playing this Rolento dude. My Dictator wasn't bad and I was racking up a few wins. The guy was getting pretty pissed. After one particularly bad beating he suddenly stood up from the facing cabinet clapped his hands ONCE and comboed it into giving the finger and a nice "fuck you". The guy wasn't big so I went around the other side and said to him it was only a game etc. He apologised and wanted more challenges.

But I'll always remember the rhythmic 3 hit combo of his clap, bird, fuck you.

Nooooowwwww this is a story all about how,
My life got flipped, turned upside down.
If you'd like to take a minute to sit and play with your dong,
While i tell the story of the great BIRRY WONG.

Iiiiiin West Papatoetoe, born and raised
Hunters plaza is where i spent most of my days.
Chillin out, maxin, relaxin all cool,
Til i started going to yifans outside of school.
Then a couple of guys, who were browner than wood,
started playing Marvel in my neighbourhood.
I got in one little match and i was getting fucked up,
Until Gunsmoke said "HES NOT GIBBING UP!"

I whistled for my Cyke, cos my other chars were dead,
And he buttraped sol's mags, and stomped on his head.
At this point cyclops was a meter building fiend,
And naturally Iron Man was gonna get reamed.
Then out came sent with Fifty Percent life,
And i beat that robot like a league players wife.

Walking over to Sol, i said "Shame you suck."
He hung his head in shame, and just muttered "Fuck..."
I looked out to the fans, waving my massive schlong,
And with a comeback like Justin's, Ben chanted "BIRRY WONG".

thats some epic badassery Bill.
I expect you to speak in early 90's rhyme from now on.

So back in '91 I was playin world warrior at the takeaways after school
I was 3rd form, this 6th former joins in and I smoke his Ryu with Guile.
He played about 4 more more games and lost. (wasnt even magic throwing or cuffing)
from out of nowhere he sucker punches me in the guts.
Winded me to fuck, gasping and bewildered I just took off ( i was scrawny, he was massive)

That Friday night I was at Wizards with my big bro and about 5 of his mates (mostly scary degenerates)
I saw the cunt that punched me playinf SF, so I go and join in on him.
He sees my posse and goes to leave. Dave blocks his way and says "keep playing bitch"
so I play this poor bastard about 20 times winning every round. he had tears in his eyes and was shaking visibly.
whilst all the people around him called him a fucking fag and spat on him.
It was kind of uncomfortable, but funny as hell.

the end.

That guy sounds like how skullator will be at our money match.

Ooooooohhhhh.

Also, everyone needs to take note of the white dude that plays 3s at Yifans. I feel he is a story in himself, and deserves a mention in this thread.

Even BIRRY WONG isnt that loud.

He was like the destroyer of the CVS2 machine.  He used to smash the shit out of it.

And then there was that Korean guy we called cheesy throw guy, whos entire gameplan focussed around rolling nad throwing or rolling and super.  Crazy mixups lol.

CVS2 was the story maker. Steven and I called suit guy "Bangy Business" because he indeed wore a business suit and banged the buttons a lot. Also when things got hectic I remember he used to move the seat aside and take a cowboy stance to play. I like to think angry Ken guy is his sucessor.

Cheesy throw guy was possibly "Donkey". He used to pick E.Honda and just headbutt roll and throw. He once threatened to beat up Steven. Weird guy...

There was also "Green Hair" who we later got to know as "Mike" and a Japanese guy who carried a fan and also had an extra role in "The Last Samurai."

oh story time!!!

ok I was similar to many of u who play sf2 world warrior and of course uses GUILE!!!
so i was about 10-12 at the time and was at a DAIRY of course playing on those cabs, this bully from anotehr school senior to me as he was prolly 5th or 6 form at the time. He challenges me and of course as a guile user I wuld invisible throw the shit out of him liek there is no tomorrow.. anyways so he got pissed of and as a bully he started talking shit and crap about beating me up. One day he got so pissed off he smashed the screen of the cab and ran off after he lost and of course I told the owner who called the police on him and got him arrested and dont know what happen after that.
Then another few months passed and the same guy plays me, this time after a few lost he walked off, then out of a sudden he came behind me and started to harras me then punched me and laugh... so what did I do in return? as a Vietgong, I quickly picked up a rock which was about the size of his face and chucked it at him... he never came back to that dairy :)

/end

I wud ov done the same thing andy lolz

one day after school i was at the mangere town center arcade with my mates, we were about 9years old and we had $1 to spend on SF2 lol we were poor az.

Anyways there was a older dude about 17years old beasting it with ken against the cpu, he then asked me to take the 1st round for him, i lost and he didn't care that much and said its alryt he carried on and made it to the next stage then he tells my mate to play the 1st round my mate loses, the old guy was all goods about it, but then he ended up losing and told us that its our fault and had a big as spazz like smashing the buttons and shaking up the cab, he then turned to us and made us give him our $1.

Asshole.

Only Arcade experience I remember was a Marvel 2 game in Auckland somewhere.I was pretty fucking young.

I had Hulk, Venom and Strider. It was that day that I realised "Wow.If you were constantly caught in Striders Orbs, that'd be pretty fucking annoying!"
Venom fang and Orbs all day err'day. Guy got pissed and left. I think he heard me laughing because I heard him say "Fucking cheap cunt..."

Havent had any fights like your hori bastards.hahhahaha.Although, I did see some guy get bitchslapped for Invisible Throws with Guile. It was a really loud bitchslap man. Like, If you Threw a bit of steak onto a BBQ off of The moon.Sounding like a goddamn gun or some shit. Being in Auckland and surrounded by Maoris I proceeded to Silently Poop.

wtf people actually fight after losing lol ive never had that happen to me, then again im usually the one losing lol

i dont have any awesome stories but i remember playing 20c SF2 and Waku Waku 7 when i was in Intermediate. Also when i was in high school our local tekken tag/killer instinct machine would sometimes give us double credits which was mean.

i dont know if hes still there but i remember in yifans there was this dude that would always play SF2: world warrior and always pick Blanka and whenever his jumping RH failed to connect it was always followed by a loud BASH of the buttons lol

Haha fuck I know that dude. Yea he still rocks up and just sits there doing neutral jump HK with Blanka against the CPU. One dude challenged him and he just stood up, walked away from the machine, waited for the guy to finish, then proceeded to go and resume his beastly NJ HK gameplay against the CPU.

Thats the asian guy rocking the mean bald patch aye?

That dude has been down there doing that since the beggining of time.  If he somehow manages to get to Bison and then lose on Bison, the resulting display is VERY entertaining.

And the most amazing part is that guy is actually a auckland uni student,
I saw him going to a lecture the other day.

My story happened in a all dark and smoky arcade in HongKong, folks hanging out there
usually wear black T-shirts and blue jeans, with dragon tattoos on their arms.
I challenge a guy playing SVC using Terry with my Akuma, it was a shoulder machine.
All I did was dive kick, when I get to combo i just did LKLKLKLKLKMK, cause it looks super
fast compared to other things in game and it feels good doing it.

That guy didn't know how to anti-air, after getting beaten the first round, he stood up
and all he said was, "fucking crazy", giving up the remaining rounds and left the arcade.

Then another guy wearing shirt probably in his 30s came along, he was a bit better, so
I had to use the block evade dp unblockable bug  ;D
After losing 20 games in a row, he got really pissed off, before he left he whinnied in
a 3rd grader style "fluke demon" literately or maybe "fluke monster" a better translation.

The way they trash talked me was so hilarious, but i guess it wasnt a appropriate
moment for me to smile, and I just couldn't get angry because of that, so I just blank
face them which pissed them off even more. The feeling was so uneasy I wished all they
said was just a "fuck you".

Crazy, that guy was there last time I was at Yifan's he kept looking over at me to see if was watching his blanka brilliance. Not to be mean but with the way he was playing and his performance when he lost to the CPU, I honestly thought he was a bit slow.

Flatbush Road shops (in Otara right where Flatbush primary is). Sometime in the early 90's (Jan '94 I think).

I almost got knifed by some wanna be gangsta kid.

My cousin & I were in the takeways playing SF2. This kid walks in & starts screwing up his face and saying "pwoah... TOEJAMS! someone in here's got the meanest toeys"

Not one to back away from confrontation I said to him "Maybe its yours cause you mentioned it." He got mad & pulled a knife on me. We freaked out and the shop owner kicked us all out.

We ran up Piako St (my old family house was on Piako). He followed us, I yelled out that we were going to get my older brother and cousins. He said he'd knife all of us...

He ran back to the shops when my brother & cousins came outta the house as we were running up the driveway. He got some of his boys to come out.

Pretty lols when I think back to that time hahaha

Also getting beat by Joekage one night in Yifans was the start of my MvC2 life. Was supposed to have gone home at 7pm, didn't leave til 11pm lol. Wasted over $20 easy that night, but its my most fondest memory of Yifans. Joe is the man.

Man i wish one of you's knew the ultra small 6 by 4 arcade across the Rd from Kelston Boys High. It use to get so packed with all these big ma fuckaz you could'nt even get in the door. I lived a few houses away and only got to see the inside of it once for it's entire arcade lifespan.

Man those were the days ay, they had arcades at your freaking dairy's mane, like not just your one or two machines at the take-aways a whole arcade lol.

Anyone remember the one on Glengarry Rd shops in Glen Eden. It was half video store and half arcade. It was mean though and had heaps of games. My cousin use to live right next to it, and we use to beg our mums for some coinage to go jam. Got sick of street fighters 3 moves quite quickly and then saw tekken 1. After that was Tekken up till Tekken 5 but was only the man out west and got raped hard wheneva i went to town arcades.

Every arcade out west gets closed :S
There was an arcade in Te Atatu Peninsula when i was 12.
Didn't last very long. Had people pick pocketing others for like 50c, people dealing behind the arcade and kids pushing "start" whenever someone puts in 2 credits thinking its all good that they can play.

There was an Arcade on Great North Road henderson mall area, it was first near teh bus stop 2 min from the mall.
They then moved to the upper end of the street where national Bank is... was a great place they stayed pretty long too.
They had pretty good games incl my fav SF ex2 plus :D and of course a bunch of others.
I think the owners name was.... Ben or something, bold head white guy.

Space Odyssey in New Lynn was epicly close. Went there about 2-3 times a week when I was about 9. They had MVC2, TTT, A2, and like heaps of games I used to play back then.
