Fuck STREET FIGHTER X TEKKEN no care, but 3rd Strike is a genuine surprise. Dammit I just really want CvS2 now so I can throw away the PS2 and play all my games off the PS3 HDD haha.
;D ;D ;D ;D
I knew you'd be happy mothefucker, your game gets a new life. So still can't get a PS3?

SF X Tekken sounds fun
I like tag games.
So many fighters coming

Wow I am excited. That was cool!
I'm interested to hear from Teeeken players think of the trailer, it doesn't look to play like a Tekken game at all.
Cool. Wish my net wasn't fucked so i could watch some shit.
Streetfighter engine will probably be cool to see the tekken chars in it. BUT the Tekken engine gonna fail the SF chars lol.
Hope they bring some of Tekken's customization into it this time. Only retards think $100 for 5 different costumes is better oh and old school cunts lol.
That was pretty cool.
But I am more hyped to see Namco's version.
AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Dunno if it was just the crowd but this vid got me pretty damn hype. I like the tag ins. It'll be interesting to see namcos version.
yeah i like the look kaz looks beast oh yeah i hope i get to play my fav tekken char king.
and this reminds of CvS series and the SvC games. cant wait to see the SF dude in namcos version.
pretty sweet trailer.
funny how Tekken has been brought into the streetfighter world, and nite vice versa.
Wonder how tekken players will feel having to adapt to ultras, cancels and throw techs (never play tekken so dunno if it has these allready)
also what about controls, will 2 buttons be disabled if you use a Tekken char?
anyway I can see this as a gateway drug to becoming a full fledged Tekeen user. Someone think of the kids!
Looked alot like Rival Schools to me minus the super jumping.
To be honest I thought it looked kinda awful. Great idea though, but I think it looks pretty bolo. Early days though I guess.
New Third Strike sounds good though, yay ORO!!!!

I reckon this. Could be hard to say though until we see some gameplay from the namco version.

Yea, still early days. It just looked a little slow to me, but im definitely intrigued by it. If i can use Fuerte and King and rock team lucha, then ill be sold And 3s online edition might actually make me want to play 3s.
The best part of the video was the SF4 Ryu sprite using the donkey kick.
3rd strike online is awesome .
sf vs tekken looked amazzing , seems like theyve buffed the graphics over ssf4
tekken players wont play it and i doubt many sf players will play the namco version , justa fun crossover that wont bridge the two groups together tho .
anyway i ill buy them all lets face it , bet you will all 2 when theyre released lol
SF v TEKKEN
MVC3
SSF4
SF3:3S
HDR
MK9
BB:CS
KOFXIII
too many fighters will be in the market imo. thats 8 right there that have been released recently or will be released in the next year or so, who has the time to play even half of those? let alone any other games that come out! anyone want to bet what'll be on at nats next year?
i wouldn't be surprised if after MVC3 most of these fighters have terrible sales and then the 2d fighting game genre doesn't see anything decent for another 8+ years.
HDR has been out for a while bro and 3S is just coming online. anyway, i guess the way the companies are looking at it is, strike while the iron is hot.
i like it.
You might be right with the too many games in the market. I've always liked to focus on one, maybe two fighting games at a time, and get good, rather than play casually in a lot. Fighting games have always been like that for me.
Next year just makes me go "what to play, what to play, what to play, arrgghhhh!"
good point Rory
Fighting games particuly require alot of commitment, learning combos, timing etc.
I mean I've forgotten how to play HDR since picking up SF4. I dont think I'll have the time or patience to get into most of these titles.
There's also Mortal Kombat which looks bad ass imo.
I think the oversaturation and the fact that these games have become so extremely competitive is taking the fun out of it for me.
donkey kick was beast tho.
I mean it is pretty sweet we get all these games to choose from, but as a community we should probably focus on a few rather than trying to play them all so we can collectively get good at a few games rather than being average in all of em.
well im already amazing at EVERYTHING so i have no worries :P:D
Thats the Umehala experience bro!

While i would like to play all of these i will end up goin where the players are (online) which is most likely the 4 games bolded
I would love to have the American diversity and comp but in little ol NZ there are very few of us just look at ssf4 every1 has changed to aus to get games in
Just look at games like BB and KoF they are just not 'casual' enough to draw the crowd
well it will be
BBCS, MVC3 & MK9 for me
And of course if a new Nightstalkers ever comes out.
I guess i'm odd in that style is as important as substance in a fighter for me these days.
SF has good gameplay, but I find the presentation, story & music all so terrible that it can be hard to want to put the disc in.
Well i've got no soul so i'll just play whatever you guys play. They should REMIX 3s Don't wanna main Ken or Chun. I wanna main Urien.
Bryan/Sagat and Bison/Kazuya is my teams, i baggs dem nobody else can pick those teams from now on.
RUFUS/BOB!!!
or um... SIM/YOSH
HONDA/GANNY
LAW/FEI!
Watching Rufus/Bob would make me want to quit life
I guess excitement-wise, I'm right up there - fighting games seem to be the new black at the moment (no wonder Umehala is so good)
As long as it's fun and there's lots of healthy competition, I'd pick it up.
Also, 3S online = fuck yes. It's about time someone made it easier for me to play that game.

Could try maining your fave's regardless.
Urien is high tier. He's not Ken/Chun, but hes pretty fucking good.
we would have every game on offer if we could afford the venue cost
Oh true i thought Ken and Chun were like too good or something.
It would still be cool though ay? Getting it remixed. Or you's wanna keep it the same or something?
Remix could be cool if they made it optional, like HD remix.

To be honest a lot of people cant play chun/ken that well
For example sake they are a lot like ryu in sf4 good pokes/footsies and really good supers
But if a good player uses them then they are near broken (mainly chun)
And the problems with remixes is they can easily fuck up the fun of the game or actually make it better but every1 still complains its not like the original
Remix 3S = fuk of.
I want arcade perfect port, unblockables in.
Yeah true it's a bit too late to balance it now ay.
It's pretty cool now that with the technology these days they can balance SSF4 over and over.
Just stating for the purposes of this Ken/Chun tangent that Yun is in fact the best character in 3S (Makoto is possibly 3rd ahead of Ken).
Though admittedly Ken and Chun have some pretty easy learning curves (no crucial character specific stuff, basic low/high only parry hit confirms, good normals and in Chun's case kara throw)
For anyone thinking that these games are gonna flood. Ono said Sf x Tekken won't be out for a while and that people can play MVC3 until then. MVC3 comes out next June if that's any indication. Also that 3S won't be out for a while. So that's pretty much 12 months until the next Capcom game so cool ya jets.
That gameplay video made me hype as. That was so awesome, I have to get it. Just worried about having to buy both games when they come out. But like each step raised the hype meter by like 9000.
I was thinking they would sell them as a two disc set.
I just loved seeing them fight in that awesome Neo Tokyo like Stage.
Street fighter X tekken...mother fucker! looking forward to it heheh!!
Seeing Capcom's Kazuya in SF engine is sick! I like how they did his signature moves, electrifying! DORYA!
Fuerte + King... YES PLEASE!!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TjO_Lz85szc
Take Marduk out and put El Fuerte in...

LOL rufus and bob= me rage quitting on the sight of them 2 together, heres hoping they're not so rape in this game
But im a fan of both franchises so this is a dream tht i thought id never see.
wouldnt mind a dan and paul combo with there ultra being them doing their power punches together/dan ripping off ryo's one lol but thats just me
Yeah the rival school team ups look awesome. Cody's one would be like Shomas which was so good back in the days. Health regeneration by females maybe?
3S on xbox would be awesome. I could finally use training mode.
SSF4...
SFxTek
and maybe MVC3...
too many games and you will suck at them all, unless you are not the competitive type and just play for fun^^ then u can have them all :D
Al depends on what limit you set for yourself. If someone wanted to be the top in New Zealand at all those games and set their mind to it there's no reason they couldn't achieve it.
oh yeah true..then again I'll see that person sleeping in the gutter or even worst, right outside Yifans.
hahahhaha
be realistic, you dun have the time\ money for something like unless you have no life.
As soon as you think something can't be done you've already made that the limits of your reality.

Of course there is, try:
Somebody else has it set in their mind to be the best at just ONE of those games, therefore he can allocate more time to improving on his one game.
And as Andy mentioned, people who don't have to go to work everyday have more time on their hands by comparison to those that do.
Meh I don't necessarily agree that you have to spend your life on something to be good at it.
All the best players in NZ have jobs/uni etc. Not like they just sit around practicing street fighter all day. If you really think about it, the guys that are the best in NZ play just as much, if not less than most here. Don't get me wrong but the amount of practice you get is important, but it needs to be balanced with the "way" you practice. Loads of us around here don't practice in the right way imo.
LOL I didn't have a job for a whole year last year and I wasn't the best street fighter player haha. Man I really hope this builds our community more having all these new fighter's though. So fucking hyped for MVC3 atm.
^Agree
It will probably mean more people stick to learning just one character/team and their matchups in each game though, which I personally think is actually pretty sweet.
And LOL @ the 21 page thread that exploded in the 3S section on SRK about balance changes for online edition.

its called knowing and setting your limits, you will lose a lot of precious time and your family will be pretty sick of ya :) I'm talking about your woman mainly :) that is if they have one...
Your point I get and that is teh same as " I am unable to beat this person" in some game, be realistic with life as it can't just revolve over gaming even tho it is your hobby, you must have a good balance.
Personally for the last 2-3 weeks, I prolly only played 3-5 hours MAX, as I am busy with life and work, but I still want to keep that balance and not dull my skills and experience too much. But imagine you try doing that for what? 4-5-6? fighting games... good luck lol.
Generally time invested in something helps you improve, or keeps you fresh, but that doesn't mean he who spends the most time is more skilled, obviously.
With fighting games, it's pretty rare for a newer player to dominate somebody who has played for a long time.
Even with seasoned players, those who spend time playing\training\seeking good opponents\studying-reading tend to take the wins over those who don't (Groundbreaking stuff, definitely worth posting)
Of course like Lenny mentioned you don't have to spend your life on something to be good at it, some players are more talented than others etc.
Irrelevent topic anyway, my reply to Simon was more driven at the fact that despite what most people THINK they are capable of, generally they can\could be doing ONE thing better than they could with say four.
You could spread your butter perfectly across one piece of toast, or attempt to spread that same amount of butter across four pieces of toast to a lesser degree.
Alternatively.. If one person said he would like to win EVERY games tournament at Evolution or SBO in that years event. It is common sence that individuals aiming to win just one game each have the advantage. Huge assumption.
Although I do agree with you Crazy, saying or thinking something can't be done is definitely limiting yourself. But in my opinion it's also the difference between reality versus head in the clouds daydreaming.

We have like a billion examples of the opposite in our communirty.
Skullator is on point, reality is harsh, no matter how you dream and wish for, some things you must face teh fact that it maybe a dream come true. I am not saying to limit yourself, but to understand what can be done and what maybe a dream which you still maybe able to achieve but mostl unlikely due to obstacles in life itself.
Coz I can say, I will be a billionare by teh age of 30.
Here I am trying my hardest in my career and any other possible way to get rich, but in reality, how likely is this?
So again being realistic in life itself.
Remember that some games the fundamentals can cross over rather nicely
Jwong is a good example
he does/has done really well in 3s, mvc2, sf4, cvs, tvc and ST
So some games you can practice for multiple games and it can be beneficial

i see it as being possible to juggle 2-3 diffrent fighting games 4 at max if you rotate between them say you take a hour a day so monday for example you train at ssfIV, Tuesday you train at tekken 6 take wendsday off to have a break and play like a fantasy game. then on thursday you train at SfXT and then friday you train at MvC 3 then take sat and sun off for family/friends or use sunday to train at a random one of thos games
Wtf is the argument here? Everyone just made a point that didnt really relate to anyone elses points.

While this is partially true, I have this really bad habit of tapping forward against jump ins, and after playing too much KOF I kept throw whiffing on reaction to Sean rolls.
But reactions are reactions, like Bruce Lee playing table tennis with a coke bottle/nun chucks or whatever.

ooh cool! I'm gonna google that when I get home.
All I'm gonna say is this:
I once saw a Chinese girl on TV balancing one footed on a 12 foot unicycle while the other foot had a tea cup balanced on it. On her head was a saucer. She kicked the the tea cup on top of the saucer and I'm pretty sure she got a tea spoon in there too.
That is all.

I'm late into the discussion but I agree with Lenny's Street Fighter X Tekken comment. I does look like rival schools. Maybe you can swap characters after each round ala Rival schools and it isn't straight tag in and out.
Being a Tekken Novice the do look like they've Street Fightered the Tekken Characters quite a bit. While Kazuya had simlar signature moves, it seems he moves and plays quite differently.
I wonder if the fireball dodge is universal . Tekken Characters with Ultras and supers might be interesting. Yahee for Donkey Kick.
My Hype tierlist goes:
MvC3
Super IV new characters maybe ;D
Street Fighter 3 3rd Strike Online :)
MK9
Street Fighter X Tekken
Man all these rumors and leaks being correct all the time is spinny as. It used to be once a year SF4 was rumoured and I was always disapointed so much so that I stopped believing. But now rumor Street Fighter vs Clay Fighter and I'd probably believe you.
Bro, Squanto just confirmed Street fighter vs Clay Fighter!

that little stagger system they've got going on looks pretty interesting.... :)
What a great time for me to get back in the the genre. Seems like there is a lot to get in to over the next year or so. Really looking forward to seeing Namco's take on TvS, wonder how they can pull it off. :o
It would be interesting to see people side step a Sumo Headbutt...
Can't wait
I hope the actual game is as good as that video.
