Figured id make one of these threads in case people dont browse trademe every waking moment like i do. Anyway, found this today, and i understand ryan was looking for something that was compatible with a computer. Im thinking about grabbing it myself, but the $85 asking price is pretty high.
Its a ps1 namco stick that has been modified for ps2 and PC by the looks of things. Expensive, yes, but these things are quite hard to find, even on trademe.

Additionally, for those of you that are also interested in finding a stick for your xbox 360, the SC4 sticks are up on gpstore, but theyre more expensive than a harem of gold plated hookers. And im not talking south auckland hookers either. I mean the class you see in american softcore porn flicks. However, theyre Hori brand, so theyre definitely quality.

That namco stick looks pretty sweet. $80 isn't bad for one.
Not a bad deal for that stick, sanwa buttons and stick... those parts alone would run you ~$70
hey, I'm headed over to japan in oct(TGS FTW!!!) so if anyone knows what I should look out for, let me know! due to weight limits I prolly won't bring much hardware back, but am happy to help out with bringing back games etc.
Tru yea y not help me to buy Marvel vs Capcom dreamcast version would be great just go to second hand shop u can buy second hand but they look brand new ::) ::) ::)
I've brought off the guy selling the namco stick a number of times.
I got a modded agetec with sanwa stick and buttons from him awhile back and a custom he made with all sanwa parts and a ps1 pcb for 30 bucks. Was Stoked as
Also the pcb he has put in the namco is from a mayflash stick.
I've got one of these as well and there appears to be no lag on ps2 but some slight lag on pc. Im not not sure if this is because of my comp or the pcb. Something to be aware of.
Also Also don't buy the sc4 stick unless you plan to mod it. Hori stock parts are kinda average.

Shit, did you win that? I was going to bid on it but then forgot at the last minute. Was really pissed! The price you got it all at was ridiculously cheap, far cheaper than the parts alone!

Yeah I know cost me like 60 bucks to import a new jlf and some sanwa buttons from japan.
If I didn't bid on it the selling prices was going to be $1.50 LOL. Crazy $1 reserve auctions. The only problem with it was one of the soldering points had come loose. Simple fix. The actual mdf box is really nice. I wasn't expecting much at that price.
I'm using Zenki's Hori PS arcade stick with a USB adapter. Works awesome on SF3/GGXX and emulated games.
I see these usb adapters on tm for like $10-20. If someone else buys an adapter, I can bring my laptop to the next tourney for some sf3 action ;D
:-[couldnt find my usb...donno where put it

The only thing I should mention about usb adapters is that some of them introduce lag, which is particularly bad. I bought one from playasia which is perfect, not sure about any that you can pick up around here.
I got one (usb adapter) its lag free. Hit me up if ya wanna borrow it

I hear you - it cost me 1500 yen (roughly $30 going by the current exchange rate)! Add to that the fact I waited for nearly two hours to get into the capcom shop at TGS and I think its a fair enough price for some decent memorabilia...

How about MVC ? 30bucks buy now?? ::) ::) ::)
;D Nice offer ;D
Unfortunately it cost me more than that to buy in Japan! Admittedly, I need the money, just not bad enough to sell it at a significant loss...
Apparently GPstore(Mightyape) doesn't sell the xbox360 hori sticks anymore. Anyone got any bright ideas as to how i could source one?
I think they are pretty hard to find these days, yeah... maybe playasia?
I imagine the street fighter 4 sticks should be fairly prevalent, but that's a good 2-3 months away...
Yea. I should've got the SC4 one when i saw it. Oh well. I only see myself wanting one for Blazblue. (IF that comes to English 360's) SF4 is a weak maybe at this point.

Interested. Bidding.
I NEED XBOX360 ARCADE STICK OMG
Feb 17th or so is the date for the SF4 360 sticks... before that... good luck!
Any links? I cant be bothered lookin ::)
I emailed mightyape asking about them. The chick that emailed me back reckons mid january for the sf4 sticks. Theyre just sorting out pricing etc atm.
Sweet. Hope they get in the TE stick (although it'll be ~$400 for sure).
Heres a link to a news article about the SFIV controllers with some pics
http://www.gamecyte.com/street-fighter-iv-arcade-stick-preorders-open
The Tournament edition arcade stick controller (with the sanwa parts) is pre ordering for US $150 on Amazon... so maybe about $300 here?

Oh yeah, I saw that yesterday, forgot about it already.
Pretty good deal probably, the Sanwa parts alone are worth probably $90 what with the weak dollar...
I'm 99% sure it won't work on PS3 though... in other words, it doesn't work on current gen consoles. That's presumably why he's selling it.
NVM. I want it lol
K, I won't get in your way on the auction then :)
Here is my Namco PS1 stick I use on my PC.
I can confirm it works on my PS3 using a Smartjoy USB adapter. I have used it to play Puzzle Fighter HD and Soul Caliber 4. My fiance and I also use the adapter to play Little Big Planet using a PS2 controller for player 2 because we can't afford a new wireless PS3 stick yet.
So anyway for those wondering if PS1/2 sricks will work, go for it.

PS2 in non-widescreen? Does your HDTV not have any input lag or something?

It's a PC monitor, I imagine he's hooking the ps2 up to the vga input - which means 480p. I think the 226bw does 1:1 pixel mapping, so it's just square...
Never mind, think I found what I want.

Actually there is no PS2 involved in that pic, it's the PC version of Guilty Gear that you can see running. My PS2/PS3 are both hooked up to my 40" in the lounge.

No, that's not how it works. The PS2 doesn't automatically upscale like the Dreamcast does, so using a standard VGA cable would make it look like shit and very far from 480p. In order to use a PS2 on a VGA monitor, an upscaler like the XRGB, XRGB2+, or XRGB3 is necessary.
I can confirm the 'looking like shit' thing.

Incorrect. With a component-> vga cable, a monitor that supports sync-on-green, the PS2 component output set to RGB, and a game that supports 480p (such as Guilty Gear), it definitely DOES work with a vga monitor, no upscaling. I have done it myself.

And just how many fighters do you think support 480p on the PS2? The majority don't, but in any case it's irrelevant to use that method because on an LCD. On a CRT, an upscaler is required for most games. Unless you want to play GGXX#R all your life (I'm not even going to look up how many fighters for the PS2 support 480p)
Also, that appears to be in 4:3, if I'm not mistaken. The only way that's happening is if your graphics cards' drivers support this mode; since it's fullscreen but still retained in 4:3, it's automatically stretched into a blurred mess.
If the monitor supports 1:1 pixel mapping, then no, it will just show as 4:3 480p in the middle of the screen, if you select that display option.
And no, it's not irrelevant, because I was doing exactly that on an LCD screen. For fighting games. Sure, there aren't a hell of a lot of games that support 480p, but the only two that I couldn't emulate (KoFXII and GGXXAC) both did. Hence, I could play all the 2d fighting games available at that time on my arcade cabinet, with an LCD screen.

But that eliminates the availability of PS2 fighters tenfold. What about the stuff that's arcade-perfect on other consoles. ie. MvC2 on the DC?

AND....mine? ::)
What parts do the yellow namco have? I don't even remember. Soldered to the PCB?
I could probably mod the shit out of those and sell them locally. Fuck yeah Japanese hookups.
I actually bought a Namco stick two days ago. I asked MarkMan about it and apparently they are original Hori parts, both the buttons and the stick. I'm not sure if they're soldered or QDs, but I'd assume the former. From what I hear though, you definitely don't need to mod them for them to be good, playable sticks.
Thanks for that Sol. I just bought it.

Seimitsu LS-32 stick
6x happ competition buttons
2x seimitsu 24mm buttons (little start buttons)
Not a bad price... while mixing jap stick and US buttons is a bit weird, the buttons are pretty decent, and the stick is great (it's what I have in my arcade cab)
Whoop whoop got my Namco stick from Trademe today! ;D
Played like 2.5 hours of Guilty Gear #Reload before deciding it's too hot to exert any more effort. I think I'll actually be able to do a shoryuken motion the next time I play Blazblue! :o
Also been playing Shadow of the Colossus, thanks flux. :)
