SSF4 XBOX 360 Monthly Online Tournament - JunePOOLS ARE FINISHED! Finals time!!!!
Pool A winners are massi4h and NZism Stu, Pool B winners are UnbeIiever and xpunch!
So now we have a single elimination to find the winner for this month,
massi4h plays xpunch and
NZism Stu plays UnbeIiever, the winners of those two games play each other to determine the winner!
I'm heading to Queenstown tomorrow and get back on the 26th so won't be checking back till then, but no doubt you guys can work it between yourselfs. Get the games done before the 30th so we can start the July tournament!
Also, any comments about the tourney or whatever please feel free to make here. I noticed Pool B guys are missing lots of their games, not really sure why but does this is sort of suggesting I need to set times for games :(

The rules are as follows:
- All information regarding the tournament will be posted in the NZism Xbox Live Forum.
- Registration closes on the 4th of June.
- Round robin format, top 2 players from each pool go into a single elimination bracket played during the final week of the month. This may be bought forward if pool play finishes in a timely fashion.
- Matches are best of 3 games, best of 3 rounds.
- A player may only change their character and ultra if they lose a game, a winner must stick with whatever character and ultra they selected in the previous game.
- It is preferable if a Judge is spectating the match, for the purposes of this tournament a Judge may be any other player registered in the tournament. If a judge is not present, the winner must save the replay of all the games played for the match in case of a dispute. In the case of a dispute, you must lodge a complaint via private message to Rorooze on this forum.
- All pool games must be played by the 21st of June. If you are unable to organise a time for a game with someone in your pool then the time you play the game will be defaulted to 21st of June, 8pm â€" 10pm. If one player is not online at this time to play their game, a win will be awarded to the player that is online during that time.
- Only one player may register for the tournament per XBL account.
- In the case of a double KO determining the outcome of a game, that game must be replayed.
Birry Wong is in. Though the times i play can vary quite heavily.

all good bro. every time you slide -> grab I swear I teched that shit! still getting so confused by splash/tortilla on wake up. every time I try jump I get splashed, if I block high I get grabbed and if I backdashed (I think this worked ONCE) then I got hit by slide (and when you mistimed it and I blocked you still got the throw. haha, time to start mashing throw again? I will almost ALWAYS go for the throw. Just because i like doing 30 throws in a row, and then the ONE time i do slide -> ultra and it hits makes it all worth it.
I think the hardest thing about fuertes mixup game is that he can hide what he is going to put out by doing crazy flips and making crazy HUAAA! noises before someone wakes up. That shit is so distracting, haha.

Those were close matches, especially that last one where I got lucky with that throw tech at the end. Dont really know what to do against scissor kick pressure other than just take it and try to get out and zone.
Yeah man, great Guile you have so when I get some free time I want to have some games to figure out the match up. As soon as you had me in your comfort zone it felt like a lost cause, lol. Tried tagging you with ex scissors through your sonic booms but I go through and another one is on its way. Awesome tech throws and mix ups too!

But if you want to do jab to electricity effectively you gotta learn to piano it so you end on the heavy punch which has more range so it wouldn't whiff like the way you were doing it and it doesn't last long since if you get the method right only the exact 5 punches will come out. But man your Blanka was annoying lol.

Awwww end on the HARD punch. It was annoying me whn I go jab -> electricity in training mode and whiff the fuckin electricity. Another random trick on a character I'll never use that I can add to my box of useless crap.

But yeah generally all the mash moves are meant to end on HP iirc. Gens MK->hands (although now it's MK->EX hands), Hondas HHS (if you go say jab, fierce, strong, jab, fierce you will get the 5 punches ending on HP and then off that you can link into HK.
My consistency on these is really bad though, need to practice pianoing more. I find that method there the fastest, but when I do a quick motion of fierce, strong jab, I usually hit 2 of them together by accident cause I'm trying to do them too fast.
Other universal method is jab, strong, fierce, jab, fierce. But any 5 punch combination that ends in fierce works. If not comboing off a jab, then the slide method is awesome, just slide from hp, to lp, to hp.
I'm definitely not the pianoing expert, we need Sol, CrazyMobius (were you playing Blanka at ranbats) and Lenny who seem to be able to piano well with the 3 characters. Oh yeah pianoing chuns lightning legs has its uses.
I should be home tonight to hammer out some games fpr the tourney.

TBH I reckon this will be a really good match. I think Lennys fundamental game in general (ie. outside of Sim-specific stuff) is slightly better, but Unbeliever probably has a lot more Sim experience, which, obviously in a Sim mirror would potentially give him the advantage.
If i were a betting man, i would put my money on a different match.

TBH i hate the sim mirror match, and prolly wont use sim against unbeliever cause I hate sim mirrors that much.

At least the honda players have a gameplan in mind while theyre sitting there. Fuerte mirrors you might as well close your eyes and mash for all the good your mixup game will do. Fuerte mirror is potentially the only match in the game where it favours the fundamentally worse of the two players.

Never played a good makoto so didnt really know what I was in for. But man, is her dash insane! Was overwhelmed in the 1st game and got hammered. Tried using alot of cr.jabs and cr.mps to stop you from dashing in but you still got in. 2nd game i got lucky right at the end there and i hoped to give a good fight on the last but to no avail.
Cheers bro, keen to get some more Mak experience!

gg's rumble, but yeah makoto dash is fast and covers alot of ground, i use it alot to get through fireballs and to also bait them. i cracked up when i tried to meaty you on wake up and instead i eat a super straight into ultra lol

I've played with you guys and others in the past while being capped without a problem, except generally not being able to hear your mics. I do that with most games usually, I don't know how it exactly works though. But I've played SF online whenever I've been capped and I haven't had a problem :/
