doom or tron help out the low tier teams a hell of a lot. theyre just generally good assists. tron for the damage, doom for the pressure/chip. coincidentally doom is also one of the easier characters to start out with imo. spam the pink shit & standard air combo into super. mix it up with grabs and things later.
also, i hope somehow the game fucks out and spiderman becomes permanently unusable. I hate that fucker so bad. One day im gonna curse infinite that bastard. the only thing worse than spider man is spider man with colossus. and the only thing worse than that is spider man with colossus and doom. but yea, just play eddy man. im useless, like, leagues behind the other guys. the best way to improve is to play good people. also, for reference, i have massive troubles fighting waiter fuck ryu. and lucky ahvb cable is the only way to play cable.

If you are trying to find LEGIT mvc2, good fucking luck, the game is super rare for DC, PS2 and Xbox. Anyone should be able to hook you up with burnt copies of DC or PS2 though.

and you need to use your assists more. assist calling is probably the most difficult thing to get used to, but you get it after a while. captain americas dash assist goes through all beams (inc supers i think) so its not a bad one to spam. as long as youre careful not to get him killed that is.

XLan is the 11th-13th (fri - sun), aka not this weekend but next weekend, so Gino and I will be up in Auckland the whole time for VF5. Not sure what the times will be for the rounds we'll be playing and such, so I can't say when we'll be free, but I'm sure we'll be keen on some mvc2 at some stage. Plus I'll have my Dreamcast and probably 3 arcade sticks with me.

No idea what you are doing wrong. I think you have to insert the install disc to install it, then the play disc. I recomend doing the full install, installing LOD, then the 1.11b patch, and finally install the mod Eastern Sun. You won't be able to play on battle.net (no big loss, too many bots) but you gain a much better game.
