Thanks everyone that turned up, it was awesome. Big shout outs to the Blazblue community turning up and making the event awesome! You guys put on good numbers, and the few games I saw looked awesome! Will be doing more tournaments for that for sure. One question I'd like to ask, is that if the tournament were on XBOX would we have got the same numbers?

Yeah thanks alot Lenny, Rory, Bill, Graeme. Awesome games today though I and most others were definitely off point. I dunno I haven't played XBL in like 3 days and was only LANing/practicing combos and never had a problem but today could barely shoryuken off tatsu, let alone sweep. I was getting a bit nervous though so that could be it. But yeah me and smoof got second, pretty happy. Fong busted out the good Fong in the final and Weazzy playing real solid.
Good to meet Nick4Now and Flash again and also nice to meet Redtie. Also hi to everyone else there and great turnout for BB.
Also we were team Troll Badguy, I think volatile was Fong/Weazzy's team name.
Overall I got juggled in BB, thrown in HF and spammed fireballs to second place in SSF4. But yeah GGs all.

GG, this was an awesome Tournament. U-man was just so solid throughout the day and Im still salty about losing to him (Need a salty run back for sure). Also real good games at the end with those crazy team games Jay, Waza, Fong, Irumble, matt. Congrats to fong and weazzy winning SSF4 and all the other players as well. Good to see people out supporting their scene wither being Blazblue, SFII HF or SSF4.
When is the next event? Im so KEEN!!
P.S. Really want Blazblue for xbox. Where do I get it?

I intended to get home quickly for watching that Australia Shadowloo tournament online, and unfortunately I missed my bus......
I should stay there and play some casual games, I have never seen a good hakumen player in Auckland and I was surprise to him.
Over all I saw many good matches for BBCS, they had performed good moves and some combos, and I think most of players are just lack of experience that versus to real players. If you play about 100 matches with real people, you will definitely get much much better than now.

Thanks especially to graeme and julz for helping with BB:CS and keeping things running smoothly. It's pretty difficult to cover 4 setups at a time, it was pretty noisy and I couldn't shout all the time :< Most appreciated!
The turnout for BB:CS was much larger than expected! We can definitely run more events for this if the demand for it, and we can keep running the casual setup at the ranbats events we have scheduled for next year. It's a shame the Xbox360 version has been delayed so much otherwise we probably would have had more people enter. MrJustice made a huge effort to come up from Wellington, hope you can find some comp down there man!
SSF4 team tournament went real smooth! Had a few new players enter this also, sorry I didn't get to have a talk to you guys but was obviously pushed for time! Hope you come to some events next year as well :o Nice to see the christchurch guys coming up as well!

I want to talk to the NZism organisers about running a Blazblue ranbats at the same time as SSF4 next year but we need to keep up this kind of attendance for Blazblue.
Was good to catch up with everyone and talk shit, food at Fortuna was mean. Wish I had got in more CvS2 with the CHCH guys, had a muck around but for some reason I thought you guys were coming back to Giga after dinner for more games. Oh well next time ay boys ;)

Plans are in motion. Ill leave it at that. The BB tourney was a huge success, and it definitely hasn't gone unnoticed.
Only thing I can confirm is that the Auckland Ranbats season won't start until February. We will look into confirming an accurate start date for that soon.

What an introduction to Auckland's fighting game community! Awesome organisation and hosts led to an excellent tournament, where everyone was really friendly, it was great coming up as an outsider and having such an effort made to make me feel welcome.
I'm also absolutely blown away by how strong New Zealand's BlazBlue scene is, with huge shoutouts to Julz (thanks for all the tutoring!), Graeme (insane Tsubaki player, enjoy those CS2 buffs!) and everyone else who stuck around for casuals afterwards, hope you guys get a consistent scene up there.
With all the tips and contacts you guys gave me, I'll see whether we can get some competition drummed up for you down here in the windy city...
Oh, in regards to what platform to keep BlazBlue on, I'd prefer PS3.

Make sure you make it to the Fighting Game National Tournament if there is one next year. They are usually around August and the biggest event of the year. This year's event spanned two days.
