We got home today. It was massive, poor Maya was really scared. We live far enough from the city so are ok. Worried about friends and family in central city. Cathedral is totaled. Hope everyone is ok.

Thanks for the support guys, it means a lot. It's pretty crazy around here. Roads are flooding and are bumpy as. My place still has no power or water atm but I'm at my sister and her fiance's place who are lucky to still have water and power.
We've probably had at least 10 aftershocks today and they weren't little either... And I have a feeling that more will be coming our way :-\

Just got power back now. Was upstairs watching my mate play tekken 6 at riccarton tz when it happened. Held on to the vanilla street fighter 4 machine to keep me stable but the tekken one got ripped from the wall and the screen wasnt working afterwards lol but we bailed out hard cuz lights were smashed and some machines fell over like the gay photo one. Good to hear u guys are all safe.

Street Fighter stays strong while Tekken lets you down, I think that speaks for itself.
Lol nah in all serious that sounds worse than what I went through. Real worried about those trapped through the night though

I am really sorry that you and your family got so affected by the quake. Did you get any more damage to your house or is it okay? And sigh at looters. On Ilam road there were people pretending to be earth quake inspection people and going into houses and looting them in the last quake, really cant believe people take advantage in situations like this

I haven't been in a situation where things have been that grim before, but i can't imaging stooping so low that you would deliberately try and make things worse for other people just to make yourself feel better. Just got back from volunteer work and mean the power is on in our house. Shit was shoveling liquefaction all day. Helped this old lady get all of it out of her backyard. Nearly fell into a hole about a metre deep hah. Thought we had it bad with no power. Pretty much the entire eastside is fucked. Shout outs to the dairy owner giving away all his stock. Went there to get a drink while we were working and he saw that we were volunteers and just gave us cans of coke for free. Good kung. Especially since places "cough BP cough" are charging $7 for 2L Milk. Fucking bastards.
Man, felt sorry for a lot of people. Lady was writing name tags for her gear that we were borrowing and seriously she couldn't stop shaking.

Yeah I really wanted to but I had no idea when I would be able to go. I was driving some nice japanese ladies around the south island and managed to steal a few hours to go play street fighter while they were busy.
I was no competition to redtie anyway, I had more luck in auckland yesterday.
