Hey guys,

I'm organising a weekly ranking battle at iPlay on Courtenay Place (You can find them here: http://maps.google.co.nz/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode=&q=iPlay+Internet+Cafe+-+Courtenay+Place,+76+Courtenay+Place,+Wellington&aq=0&sll=-41.213271,174.907837&sspn=0.385855,0.615921&ie=UTF8&hq=iPlay+Internet+Cafe+-+Courtenay+Place,&hnear=76+Courtenay+Pl,+Te+Aro+6011,+Wellington&ll=-41.292737,174.780593&spn=0.01164,0.019248&z=16&iwloc=A (http://maps.google.co.nz/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode=&q=iPlay+Internet+Cafe+-+Courtenay+Place,+76+Courtenay+Place,+Wellington&aq=0&sll=-41.213271,174.907837&sspn=0.385855,0.615921&ie=UTF8&hq=iPlay+Internet+Cafe+-+Courtenay+Place,&hnear=76+Courtenay+Pl,+Te+Aro+6011,+Wellington&ll=-41.292737,174.780593&spn=0.01164,0.019248&z=16&iwloc=A)

Day/Time: Commencing from Sunday the 24th of April at 2pm and every Sunday at the same time thereafter.

Cost: Will be split equally among the players who come along. It's $10 per machine per hour, so for example if we ran one machine for two hours it would be $20 divided by the number of players there. Even if there are only four players that's amazing value $5 for 2 hours of play with decent players and no connection problems!

Games: This will be determined by our player base but initial games will include MVC3, Tekken 6 and SSF4.

Hardware: Games are all played on XBox360 so if you have a stick for that bring it.
I've got two wireless Hori's (from the tekken set you get) that are decent but they aint no TE.

Format will be double elimination if we have 8 or more players for a single game, otherwise it will be a round robin follow by knockouts.

This message will also go up in the NZ thread on Tekken Zaibatsu so that we can get those guys involved too.

Chur

Update: Old Boy are open 24/7 and will be open even though it's Easter Sunday this weekend.

The Iplay down on Courtney Place does the same thing on xbox for the same price and is much more spacious but they are much like Old Boy in the respect that they don't have ssf4.

Just throwing some ideas out there. It's good to see the Wellington Community still has some life.

Oh ok sweet! we could use that, For the first one at least we can use OldBoy to judge numbers and whether we need more space. Sounds good though.

Awesome, the main thing is that people come along. we need a scene in order to get better at the games so doesn't matter if you're not the #1 player there.

Just as a tip, don't get disheartened if there are only a small number of people that show. Some of the best communities have formed from even just two guys getting together, as long as it's regular and people are informed/welcomed, things will happen. Might just take some time. I'm confident Wellington can get there.

Great work Jsculls!  Wellington has been waiting a long time for someone like you!

Get your boys practicing.  nats is coming up soon, and a little birdy told me that Auckland still thinks Wellington is free in Third Strike, and is willing to put a team up to prove it.  Just saying is all.

Post by: jsculls on April 16, 2011, 09:44:28 am
Thanks LN I've got confirmed at least 8 so far spread across the three games (quite alot of tekken players). What was quite cool though was that Toothy(awesome tekken player) is keen to teach tekken but learn mvc3 so that's pretty cool.

Somnang - Bring Shaun and those others down we can get everyone good at the same time, I think you'd really dig MVC3 if you haven't played it yet.

Thanks Lenny haha yeah for sure be good to get some rivalry going on.

Sup Wellyville! Im down here visiting the folks during the holidays and should be able to make it to this provided we are still down here on Sunday as not too sure what date we are returning back to Auckland. This could be the carrot I need to extend the stay an  extra day or 2 lol. Be good to get some SSF4 action in whilst down here and I'm pretty sure I can remember one Tekken combo of Paul's that might be able to fluke me some wins on Tekken : ) Will be driving in from Upper Hutt and will confirm my attendance towards end of the week in case anyone needs a ride in from the Valley. Sweet.

Hey guys,

Thanks for massive amount of support. This is going ahead as plans in terms of numbers we'll have 8+ and it will be held at Old Boy this weekend starting from 2pm.

If the space is too small we will move next weekend (thanks for the suggestion Kim).

The plan will be to finish off the ranking battles relatively quickly so that people can play casuals for as long as possible.

Post by: jsculls on April 24, 2011, 06:51:56 pm
Firstly, thanks everyone who came really awesome to see that there are actually Wellingtonians who play fighting games. I didnt expect the level of turn out that we got. It was awesome this week but I can see it getting so much better as well.

Results:

SSIV 1st - Johnny(Barnstorm), 2nd - Shannon(Filter), 3rd equals - Jeremy & Ben (we unfortunately didn't play this off due to time restrictions)

MVC3 1st - John(jsculls), 2nd Johnny(Barnstorm), 3rd equals - Charlie & Matt (I'll credit you guys as third equals out of 4 people playing marvel :P)

Tekken - 1st Richard(Toothy), 2nd Som(Sdj), 3rd Daniel(t4jin)

Sorry Ben, Charlie and Matt for not remembering your NZISM tags.

Secondly I think we can definitely take something from this week in terms of length of time to run each game. The first step is to have the brackets drawn up prior to the actual start time. This will help things run alot faster, this will mean registering your interest prior to next Sunday when we run it again. If you aren't 100% sure you can make it still show up on the day and we'll include you it'll be easier to include an extra than figure out the brackets when we're there.

I'll do some investigating of potential venues this week Old Boy was ok but with the numbers we've got we need more space.

sounds like a success!

jsculls, if you need any help with brackets or anything let me know and I can help you out depending on what resources you have (laptop, PC with net access or just paper!).

also great that you have some tekken players coming to these events, something we definitely struggle to do in Auckland.

Thanks Rorooze, I'll flick you a PM. I can take my laptop down to make things easier. I was literally running it off of these little post it size bits of paper but it obviously makes it alot easier. Yeah definitely good to see some tekken players coming along as well. Most of em seemed pretty interested by Marvel which is encouraging for SF x Tekken as well.

Kim - You missed out! Definitely come next week it's pretty awesome. We had about 12 people spread across the different games.

If you've got internet, a website like challonge.com is really good and easy for running brackets. Should be no problem with putting all the names in when people enter on the day.

Thanks for organising this jskulls!
I think just bringing some paper/printed out brackets will go a long way to making things run a bit smoother... and figuring out how to juggle 3 games over two setups/getting the MvC3 stuff unlocked from the start.
Bring on the next session!

Is it going to be on at Old Boy again this sunday or at that other place?
Title: Re: Weekly Wellington RanBat
Post by: jsculls on April 29, 2011, 03:52:38 pm
It is on again this week at Old Boy(iPlay is $20 per hour for the room with only one set up)) with a different format. I've been talking to a few people about it and I wanna try out a couple of formats to see what will be the most successful and fair.

The format this week is casual play (no tournament). Winner stays style with a maximum of 5 wins before you get booted (gives everyone a chance to have a go against others). Games will be the same.

Moving forward we will look at running one tournament per week and rotating the games to make sure we get the maximum amount of play out of our time there and minimise the cost to everyone. Additionally I'm investigating if this can be run from peoples homes instead to make it really super cheap. The idea would be that if you host you pay nothing and the people that come bring food/drink for everyone so that you get remunerated for use of your house. I'm fine to host them at mine, ideally we'd have 3 or 4 people who were keen to alternate between.

I'm actually in Melbourne at the mo and wont be back until Monday so will miss this weeks one. My brother Daniel is organising it for us this week.

11people turned up for the Casuals Session. with an hour each of Mvc3 & Tekken 6. Street fighter players having the more players ended up taking the rest of the session ;D. Good job nzism. although most ppl i know Forgot (washing is a poor excuse laa!) decent amount i reckon.

hopefully john will be back to set up the ranbats/tourney's next session.

I heard this went pretty well last weekend. Good stuff guys!!

This week we'll be moving to the iPlay on Courtenay place for two main reasons 1) more space, 2) it's apparently only $2.50 per hour, per set up if you have a gold membership (which we'll look to acquire).

More details to follow, it also means we can play longer without worrying about time constraints and ensures everyone can get a decent game in.

We'll look to make it a fixed price of $5 per person with the remainder of the money being used as prizes for competitions or up for discussion as to what else it could be used for.

Hey guys,

Just confirming that battles are on again this week at 2pm. I'll send an email out to all those who aren't on this or TekkenZaibatsu (this will go up on Zaibatsu tomorrow as well). As mentioned in my last post we're going with a location change in order to save us some money. We're moving to the iPlay on Courtenay Place map: http://maps.google.co.nz/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode=&q=iplay+wellington&aq=&sll=-41.169351,175.083618&sspn=0.74638,1.231842&ie=UTF8&hq=iplay&hnear=Wellington&ll=-41.291593,174.776902&spn=0.01164,0.019248&z=16&iwloc=B  (http://maps.google.co.nz/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode=&q=iplay+wellington&aq=&sll=-41.169351,175.083618&sspn=0.74638,1.231842&ie=UTF8&hq=iplay&hnear=Wellington&ll=-41.291593,174.776902&spn=0.01164,0.019248&z=16&iwloc=B)

In order to keep it simple and quick over the next three weeks we will run one tournament per week and rotate the games between MVC3, Tekken and SSFIV. This weeks game will be SSFIV.

We can look at running all three tournaments on the same day in the future if that's what people want. Tournaments will also be double elimination (thanks Rorooze for reccomending Challonge that thing is the best).

The cost per hour, per machine is $4 on a standard membership or $2.50 if we have someone with a gold attend. There are  a few people with Gold's so if they're there on the day it'll be cheap as chips. This obviously means some difference in terms of costs. In order to keep things as simple as possible and because it's not a massive amount I want to keep it at $5 per player, this will mean we'll have a bit left over each Sunday.

There are a couple of options here so I'm keen to get opinions from people:

1) We pay out the winner of the tournament on the given day and 2nd place is given their $5 back
2) We save the money and purchase hardware (first priority would be Marvel since we're currently using Barnstorm's copy)

I'll have a chat to everyone on the day about what they'd like to do as well but if you've got ideas happy to hear em.

Cheers

Isn't there 2 Iplay's on Courtenay?

It's late so some of this shit is not written in the most logical order;

Anyhow, I was going to post saying I think it's more fair that the left over cash be paid out to the winner and 2nd given their entry back, because at this point, even if the money is invested in copies of games for these tournaments to use, the games will be always end up being someones even though they were paid for equally by everyone (by logic). I'm not against this idea, especially because it's not fair if say Barnstorms copy of Marvel ends up fucking out etc. I think the most important thing here, is if we do go ahead and spend leftover venue fee on first off, a copy of marvel 3, that everyone knows where their money is going everytime it's put towards something new, and where/what/how the ownership of that game works. If we all agree to buy X, and that Y holds on to it and brings it every Sunday etc. Then if something more drastic happens, Y passes it on to someone else to hold on to, or we find a fair way of selling/giving someone/playing for the game.

I have to ask something. If we do rotate "tournaments" for each game, but everyone still pays $5 each week, is it fair that those who don't play said weeks game won't/can't enter the tournament and are not able to have a shot at winning/getting back their $5? Now, I think that it could be ok, considering say next week, your game could come up, and then you would have a shot at winning, and so on and so on, but, what if people decide not to ever show up to any week that their game isn't on?

I still kind of see this as a better solution though, at this point we don't need to have an entity that owns setups and games, we're better off having players coming to play regularly, and if a chance at doing that for free/making a small profit is an incentive, we should use it. Also encouraging people to bring anything of their own that they can would help out. I only have PS3 shit, but I've got a console, Tekken, Marvel, Super, and all the other shit on there, HDR, T5DR, MVC2 etc, and sticks.

I know some of what I have written is fairly anal, and we're only talking about a few dollars here and there each week, but when it comes to money, there will always be an issue with something, I think it just pays to take everything into consideration and think it through and agree on what to do before we do anything.

Food for thought, at least.

Thanks Chukk appreciate the feedback.
Updated the link above. There's only one iPlay on Courtenay, The other one is on Manners.

You make valid points. Happy to go ahead with that we can have a quick discussion with everyone on Sunday to see what the popular vote is.

RE prize money and point about one tourny vs three. I was thinking about that last night, it's true that the people whose "turn" it is to play their tournament will have the most incentive to attend. The fact of the matter is still $5 is cheap for 2+ hours of gaming. Running all three tournaments will take approx 3 hours I reakcon (maybe less) so if people are keen for that we can do it.

Prize money would be around $10 per winner (so an extra fiver and 2nd place is gettign their money back) running all 3 tournaments or running one tournament per week prize money for the winner will be around $40 with 2nd place getting their money back.

I certainly dont want anyone to feel ripped off by any of these options hence the democracy.
Title: Re: Weekly Wellington RanBat
Post by: Kim on May 06, 2011, 10:05:50 am
How about a season type format, where people are given points depending on how they place in each tournament. The winners would be those with the most points at the end of all 3(Or however many games we pick up). Prizes spread over 1st to 5th since it'll be 3 weeks worth of excess.

- Encourages people to get better at all games, making our overall scene stronger
- Prevents people ducking tournaments
- Maybe pick up a different 4th game every month for those people who want to play a game but don't have the competition for it

Just what I thought after reading Chuckk's beast post

Title: Re: Weekly Wellington RanBat

Kim - Awesome idea doesn't stray too far from how it's run now and like you say encourages people across all the games which is absolutely awesome.

Filter - There are four set ups, two in each room.

I can't make it for the next few weeks, but do you guys have enough sticks to run 4 setups?
If not I'll drop my stick to Chuckk this afternoon for you guys to use.
Title: Re: Weekly Wellington RanBat

We'll only really need to run two set ups to be honest. If you could drop off your stick that'd be awesome.
Title: Re: Weekly Wellington RanBat
Post by: moose! on May 06, 2011, 04:34:37 pm
IMO $5 is not that much money and I don't see the point in paying it out to winners... It seems a bit counter productive to take money from people that we want to encourage to come regularly to level up and give it to the people who will probably turn up anyways. I would rather see leftovers kept aside and used to fund more setups/time/cover any shortfalls that might come up. Maybe if it gets to a certain point we can have a free session if it hits a certain point.

Wow... what a commie bastard.
Title: Re: Weekly Wellington RanBat
Post by: Filter on May 06, 2011, 06:04:45 pm
yeah I think I'd prefer it if the money went to running more setups so there is less waiting.
that way people that are new to a game will be more likely to play and they won't have to go up against the best player every time.
Title: Re: Weekly Wellington RanBat
Post by: Barnstorm on May 07, 2011, 12:08:00 am
At the moment i am stoked to be able to play games in person, sometimes learn stuff while we play and have a laugh

Right now I think having a tournament to prove/test your ability is good but having people come and get to know the people and maybe learn is the more important aspect so while winning money is nice right now i dont think its neccessary and could be used as stated before for other setups etc
Title: Re: Weekly Wellington RanBat
Post by: Filter on May 07, 2011, 12:49:33 am
If we did get that gold deal of $2.50 per machine it would cost $20 to hire 4 machines for 2 hours.
we'd only need 4 people to show up to cover that cost. but then that would only be 1 person per machine...

with the normal rate of $4 it would cost $32 to hire 4 machines for 2 hours.
We'd only need 7 people to show up to cover that.

that's about the limits of my maths ability. Either way there is always going to be some excess money.
iPlay is so much cheaper than OldBoy it's crazy. Is the place really shit or something?

with 3 or 4 setups going on at once there wouldn't be much waiting time and everyone could get a lot more play in during the session to level up.
It might be unlikely to get 8 sticks together. I'm pretty sure that some people don't mind playing on pad tho. last time there were a few people there that preferred pad.

We could still run an optional tournament every week with no prize money using the game of the week. Which would work out pretty well since jsculls mentioned it'd only take 2 setups, so we could allocate one room for tournaments and the other room for causals. And if the tournament doesn't have decent numbers we could always revert it back to a casual room.

I for one would like a more competitive aspect to these meet ups. I mean I get enough causal matches online and I want to see where I rank in Wellington.

As for the money, with the new prices, accruing money from the first two weeks could mean the third week would be free with the left over money constantly being put towards this free session. Would be mean to get in new blood that are a bit reluctant because of the fee.

casuals online =/= causals offline. I agree with you in some respect but in the scheme of things ranking in wellington is pretty pointless as we'll all get raped by auckland players.

Awesome games today guys. Next week we'll run SSFIV as a tournament just that we had alot more people keen on Tekken this week.

Tekken results:
1st Toothy
2nd Ajith
3rd KimYLim

Can really tell the difference in price from Old Boy to iPlay it's nice to be able to keep on playing and not worry about how much it's gonna cost to keep playing.

RE the skill levels the biggest thing for us to do is to actually have regular games against each other and have everyone improve. It's not just playing there it's actually the fact that there's something to improve for (so that you can test it each week). I'm already noticing big differences in people's play particularly in Tekken some of it is getting rid of the rust but people are actually coming up with new creative stuff instead of just doing the same thing over and over.

We've got just under $38 left over this week until we figure out what to do with it.

I quite like this idea!

Regarding left over money, there are several things you could do.

1) Use it to pay for extra time on the setups (instead of 2 hours play for 3 hours);
2) Save it to cover losses at your events (in Auckland we have had one or two sessions that lost money this year), I don't think having a small buffer is a bad thing so jsculls doesn't fork out his own cash (more than the small entry fee) if you do go over budget;
3) Save it to purchase something for the community. If you guys have a good venue (it sounds like you do!) then maybe think about saving the money for copies of games, arcade sticks, something like that? Or add it all up and have a big event or prize pool or something later in the year.

damn i got smoked, i really need to play against you and muugorz more often, gg's though solid play.
that toothy guy though.... man he's a scrub :P

i like the ideas people are coming up with
i've got a decent fan to bring in, only problem is bringing it in every week, i assume iPlay wont let us keep it there.
but i'll bring it in this sunday see how it goes, cos too many people are going HARDCORE on the buttons rofl and creating like mass warmth in the room and the dudes working there won't let us keep the door open haha were not that noisy are we? O_o

Nah Tekken sucks, play MvC3! It's all the rage. Definately going to try convince Toothy to give it a good go, surely he can scrub well at that game like he does in Tekken ^_^
We're not noisy at all compared to the PC gamers there, they rage so hard at any given time during the day, I think its just policy. I'll bring in my xbox save data this week as well (no Jill/Shuma though).

Regarding the left over money - I think we should just save it with someone reliable (won't spend it) and keep it as back up money and when the time is right have a tourney with said $ as the prize. Heaps keen on the point system like Kim said; it makes the tourney aspect of the weekly meet-ups much more exciting!

Hope everything went well on Sunday. Couldn't make it due to a mixture of hangover, and other plans, haha.

I'll weigh in with some thoughts:

I'm with jsculls and others about wanting to have some sort of tournament setup going on. Casuals is fun, but occasional tournaments or ranbats encourage people to improve; and don't really limit the opportunity for casuals anyway. Especially with the cheaper venue.

I like the idea of a season ranbat. If we're cycling games, one game a week and then perhaps a week of just casuals, or pick up a fourth game (if anyone has a laptop that will run it we can have 3rd Strike? :D), so it works out to each game essentially having one ranbat a month.
Looking ahead a bit, this would allow for a ~10 round season over a year, allowing for a break over summer for Christmas, people travelling and such.

Instead of using the excess money as prizes for each ranbat, it could be used to buy stuff for the community (as people have suggested), and have some sort of end-of-season prizes. This would still encourage people to play well and improve in the hopes of winning a prize at the end of season, but would use a much smaller percentage of the money than prizes for every ranbat would be. Essentially allows for both prizes and buying stuff for the community.

While I'm looking ahead... I used to go to some ranbats in Melbourne which sort of followed this format; non-monetary prizes for the ranbats (a bag of lollies or some such, lol) culminating in a big final round/prize giving.
For each game, prizes were given for:
-Top of ranbat ladder
-Winner of the final tournament (not based on ranbat ranking)
-Most improved player, decided by a vote of players
-"Shenanigans" award, decided by vote for most silly/bullshit/outrageous performances throughout season.

This sort of made the final event (and lead up to it) a lot more fun, because it was made into something a bit more special. Also, having prizes for Most Improved and such help incourage improvement, without necessarily having to be the best of the best to get anything for it.

Anyway, so that's my thoughts on that. Sorry if it's hard to understand, it's late and I'm tired.

Also, this is of no immediate use, but I'm going to look into building a stick soon, probably as a project for semester break in June. So that will at least be one more stick.

the iPlay venue is way more comfortable than OldBoy. There was a really good turn out too.

Maybe we could try to sort out some little tables to put the sticks on.

For the 4th tournament of every month we could have random retarded 4th game tournament.
Shaq Fu, Ballz 3D or Eternal Champions tournament
or maybe some games that are a bit more playable but old and obscure. Most people would be on an even footing because hardly anyone would have played them. there are hundreds to choose from. Even Bloody roar or Virtual On.

Maybe that's a fucking terrible idea.

Indeed it is

About time someone got us together to jam the FG again Cheers jsculls
funny how rust everyone has been (tekken is tekken aka homo)

@nemesis: I can bring in fan if you want to message me and I can grab it

Chances are if we try for a 4th game in our session BlazBlue sounds like a plan (we have someone that will bring ps3 with BlazBlue) but fink we need to get a more solid amount of ppl jamming mvc3 (barnstorm, materia and jsculls are the only one really) before we get a 4th game in, maybe if we be fruity and meet up for after session games coz ppl like me would be keen to try pick up mvc3 and you kinda can't do that during the few hour with ppl knowing wat they're doing and u figuring out wat ur doing

P.s coming from the guy that pick up FG abit l8 and pick tekken6 (WWWHHHYYY) to get into

otherwise we got a solid community (10+ so far) and we can definitly drag more ppl in  ;)

i was thinking of asking some of the graphic tevh guys laying around on the forums for a ' NZism Sign billboard' for the events. let the word out that NZism is out to rep. us kiwi's.

edit: in regards to Mvc3. tried it out at Nemesis place with jsculls and peps. noticed wtf at the default button layout.. not sure if anyone else is concerned about it, but i think it should just simply be a 6button across .
[ a ]            [ b]          [ c ]
[Spec]   [Assist1]   [Assist2]
which would be a 'KoF' styled layout.

jsculls uses:
[ a ]      [ c ]          [Assist 1]
[ b ]   [Spec]       [Assist2]
which is basically Mvc2.

heard a few ppl have their own layouts set at home so i brought this up.

The obvious option is to use the money for sticks or games and other similar stuff. As we found the other day I had 2 of the 4 sticks and john had the other 2 so losing 1 of us loses a whole setup which is one of the major issues. This is not really a huge deal if we get consistant turn out also bringing sticks but if one of us cant make it then we run into problems

I think the stick numbers are john with 2, I can bring 4 or 5 (but gets a bit hard after 2 to carry) Chuck got 1 and Ben 1.
Is that about right?

Alternatively we could use the money for food

Also low tier marvel 2 tourny would be mint

lol when you typed in [ b ] it just made it all bold.

The first layout you posted is the default. I was thinking of using the mvc2 layout when the game first came out (except with a and b swapped, so starting combos would feel like sf4 and tri jumps would feel like mvc2), but I got blown up by Jack trying to figure out how to do anything and since I got the game I never tried it.

I don't find any execution problems atm, except I need an L+M button for my pinky to make trijump H more consistent.

You guys could use the money to bring the great massi4h down to Welly and I can teach you all how to play Mahvel baby.

On the money we'll just do whatever the majority wants. I know where people are coming from that someone will "own" the hardware but as long as that person always brings it to RanBats or organises someone else to bring it then that's fine by me.

Yeah layouts are a b_tch I changed my layout on Saturday coz I was sick of doing the config. Now using the standard B type layout that everyone uses. It's ok, i prefer my old one coz I'll still occasionally mean to do heavy and come out with an assist or vice versa.

You guys totally should do a roady, would be epic to get you guys down here for a weekend or summn. I'm actually super keen to play some of the Auckland crowd. Nick it seems like forever since you gave me those phoenix beatdowns, when PSN is back up we should totally run it back, see if I've caught you yet :p

Tbh I really didn't deserve a lot of those wins because of Dark Phoenix. I can say that I've leveled up since then because it's been sooo long since we last played but I'm confident that you've leveled up yourself  :D I'll be honest, I'll probably be reeeeallly lame and build meters for Dark Phoenix if I can't land Mags combos online  ;D But sure I'll jump online for some games when PSN is back up.

I hope to see you at Nats and we can run it back properly then.  :) (I think I remember someone saying that there will be a day of casuals for participants.)

Nick - yeah Dark Phoenix but I mean it's not like I dont have options. The obvious thing is to snapback but there are still options when dark phoenix comes out.

Back on topic - I got a 360 TE this week from that $200 playtech deal so i'll bring that along this week as well as the two wireless hori's.

ALSO MightyApe has MVC3 for xbox at $74.35 (plus P&P) my question to the group is... after this weekend we'll more than likely have enough to buy it (current balance $38) or close enough. Do people want me to buy it?
I'll ask this at the RanBat itself as well but if you're an attendee and you cant attend this week please add your two cents here yes or no.

either table sounds good (50-70cm height for those couches)

same boring question would be who is willing to bring it in

for now i say hold off buying mvc3
materia and barnstorm come in enough anyway (I can probly be fruity and grab materia copy if need be (I live close to him))

We can run MK9 if someone wants to hire/bring it, We might struggle to fit in all the games that people wanna play if we do that though.

We didn't run the tourny last week because although there were alot of people they all had very specialised interests e.g. there wasn't really enough players to run SF and not enough to run tekken.

We can run a tourny this week now that there are more people getting into MVC3.

Edit: just a reminder that this is still on at 2pm this week if you show up early feel free to jump in on some marvel fun
