I remember the first time I went down there. I was pleasantly surprised to see Samsho5, and MvC2... however the mvc2 had NO CHARACTERS UNLOCKED!!! What is that shit?!?

well they've got the japanese version of the game. im sure theres a way to unlock all the characters, but they just havent bothered. probably because no one plays that game down there. the stick and buttons suck there

Theres a SF4 machine now, Has the console characters and running off a PC. The buttons and stick are average and the screen has a slight blue shade to it, also the VS is on two rounds not three. But normally its $1.50 but on thursdays its half price, was jamming it for ages around 6 today. Needs some tuning but once thats done it will be sweeeet!

Haha could work since all Tekken machines where still packed and SF wasnt getting touched at all apart from my mate and I having a few matches when he couldnt get a Tekken match, after all it will be mostly NZism people using the machine we should have it how we want it :P Still have to mention it to the workers though, next time im there or whenever one of you guys are down there :)

Yeah I already used about $30 on Stacker, and I've used about that much real money on it. I always get to the top and then it loses. I love how they are legally allowed to have actual rigged machines, just to teach the kids how to gamble.

Its off to the left of the two Tekken6 cabs, its in a rip off Tekken cab. I didnt go in today, hopefully they haven trucked it off to another AKL TZ location >_< Or maybe they are fixing it up.

I'm working at timezone til 12 tonight.
Not much we can do about the screen right now, have to get a techie in to check the connections hopefully it'll be sorted soon though.  I set it to 3 rounds, 60secs etc. The cab is a bit shitty, its badly welded and shakes if you mash really hard-out the controls aren't bad: the sticks are okay (a little too tall for my liking) the buttons are the same grey T6 Sanwas and they seem all good.

Come down and show the game some love,  we need to get a bit of a community going. Looking at holding a tournament, hopefully around the same time as the T6 one but nothing concrete yet.

cool man , should set it to 5 rounds , 99 seconds like yiffans tho .
Tourney would be cool , way more than yiffans has ever done
Title: Re: Auckland - BK Timezone Queen St
Post by: Neal on February 12, 2010, 10:12:37 PM
Ahhh true, I meant 1st to 3 (best of 5). I think it's the same as Yifans unless they've changed it.

Not many people playing today, but hopefully it'll pick up. I hope they can rig up a similarly dodgey arcade cab for SSF4, in the future because I hear it might not get an official arcade release.

Title: Re: Auckland - BK Timezone Queen St
Post by: massi4h on February 12, 2010, 11:12:15 PM
Haha Neil you're awesome. 99 seconds is alot better and fairer for SF4 than 60 seconds.

I disagree. When a game's controls are broke Yifans will fix it almost immediately (if the guy is there to do it). Also I once requested that Yifans get a Jojos Bizarre Cabinet back up and whaddaya know a week later it's there.

I'm not sure if TZ Akl is the same as the Hamilton one but I once told the guys at Hamilton that the buttons were broke and there response was almost "there's nothing we can do". Very poor service imo.

I'm pretty sure the fixing dude wasn't there when you asked, but yeah. Generally Yifans has pretty good service, my only problem is that kid doing the change =_= always complains when you ask for shit

Nah he does shit like steal your coins and stuff. So many times he tries to pocket your shit if you ask for like $20 or something. He also gets shitty if you ask for  $5 saying he wont give you change unless it's $10 and gets shitty when you give him $20 saying it's too much and he'll only give you ten. This stuff is bullshit

I have never seen a young dude working at yifan? its always those big guys (islanders) ... they all good to me as i've also been around Yifans since when? 1992? or 3....I'll report that young guy if he tries it on me though I have never seen him... Try to complain to the boss (Andy) he usually slaps them :P

Also Neil, thanks for looking into the SF4 cab and would love to have an console version in a cad for SSF4. This gives us another place to hang out :D would be mint to have a mini tournament held by you guys^^ as I've tried to get you're manager? skinny asian guy with glasses to help promote our tounaments but it seems as he never put the posters I gave him up... -.-

I'm going into Timezone tonight for super session 10$= 2 hours free Tekken plus you get 10$ credit for everything else. Come down if ya'll want some games, about 7pm.

@ Zosla- Yeah I can imagine the bosses are a bit reluctant. Being a big corporation they are reluctant to promote anything unless they can put their name on it. They've been pretty good about organising tournaments, but they usually have to be organised by staff. If you've got smaller flyers then we can leave a stack at the counter.

Screen, layout and buttons are horrible. Other than that I can do my combos much better here than on Yifans. I do think some of the buttons delay a tiny bit sometimes, which is why quite often my ultra comes out as an EX move.

Played Animal Kaiser 3 for the first time today. Holy fuck this game is addictive. At $2 a game its not good for the wallet, but fuck i really enjoyed it eh. Putting my epic RNG skills to good use. Rocking the Snow leopard until i get a more useful powerup for my peregrine falcon.

Fuck, the hippo hit me with a move where it put on a bow tie and sang into a microphone. I am not even kidding. And the orangutan busted out a remote controlled exploding cymbol monkey. This game is awesome.

You have to have a machine.  Basically everytime you play you get a random card.  There are three types:

Animal - This chooses your animal.  If you don't have an inmal card you get the default lion that sucks balls
Strong(?) - This decides how powerful your moves will be, can't remember what the default setting is cause I'm a fucking baller and rock my own strong card
Miracle - This is basically a cool super move for your animal, The default is called Magma something or rather, and is pretty cool looking.  The one I use at the moment summons a colourful easter egg from the clouds which cracks open and drops a giant cheeseburger on your opponent.

When you start your game, you get asked to scan in one of each card type, and from then on you play.  When/If you lose you get given a random card.  Its seriously pretty damn sweet.

I've got the praying mantis at the moment as well.  He has a move where he fells a tree onto the opponent.

Basically you have cards which you scan into the arcade machine. Animal cards, strong cards, and miracle cards.

Animal is your well, animal. Strong cards determine how strong specific attacks are, and miracle cards are basically like a big super magic attack. All the cards have different properties which match together and the better the match your cards are then the better your set up is.

The fun of the game comes from how the roulette system can fuck you over, and when you're playing with a friend or something, and you just need 1 more attack to win, and then they roll a 20, and then you roll a 10, and then you lose, then hilarity ensues.

You get a random card at the end of every game which is how you collect cards. I have a stack like 4-5 inches high of cards lol.

Oh this reminds me.  I had a Gold card with Timezone like 2 years ago.  I held onto it for like aaaaaages, but only just lost it recently when I moved to New Lynn.

Will they be able to hook me back up even though I haven't used it in over a year?  Or will I have to start again?

Also have they fixed the joystick on the BB:CS cabinet yet?

Yeh they should be all good with getting you a new one, it'd prob just be a matter of paying the $5 it costs to get another one. And I haven't been to TZ in a week since I had an assignment to work on last week, and it's my holidays now. But I'll let you know next time I go. Might be tomorrow.

Knowing TZ they prob wouldn't have tho lol...

We have Animal Kaiser 3 down here as well!

2011 Nationals money match bitches!

We also have a Tekken 6 cab which has been newly outfitted with Chuckk style fish and chip shop sticks and buttons... maybe if you're lucky they'll throw some into the BB cab too and then it will never die! (at the expense of your combos ???)

Had some neat games of Tekken today.  Def starting to get the hang of it a bit better.  Have a Bob card named "Fatty Boomba".  lol

Also scored a sweet rare card today from Animal Kaiser called "Icarus the eagle" or something like that.  Its all shiny and stuff and has pretty high stats on it too.  Also found out that Timezone will be getting an update to it in late october! yay!

That was my first rare card as well! Goooo Icarus, he's a badass. Even though he's not as good as all my other cards, I will never sell or trade him away lol.

Also, gogo Animal Kaiser ver.4. Better get all the rares you can out of ver.3, because once it's gone, it's gone. (You can use ver.3 in ver.4)

Hopefully I can see more people down there to play against nowadays lol.

Yeah her's is the same as SSF4. The normal one is kaka if they're not standing right in front of you, but the EX kara is almost as good as ken's EX kara. I'm happy she's still got that lol. Akuma's is wierd in that it feels shorter when just doing a normal cross up tatsu if you try it a bit earlier, but I think that will just make it easier to land. U2 working on crouchers and short people now is cool, but still pretty shit damage cause of teleport scaling.

Update: Both cabs are working now at Timezone.

I fixed the sound on the left hand side machine so both have got sound now.
Techies fixed the ratio on the left machine but right one is still abit ugly. If anyone knows how to fix the aspect ratio let me know.

We heard from Damon TZ manager for chch Colombo. That they are sending one of our cabs to make money in Auckland since one of the Auckland cabs is busted. That way Auckland keeps making money. Which makes sense if a bit rat shit.

Buuuuut if they are just sending both chch cabs up north just because. That would totally suck. I'd only get it if there were long lines waiting to play vs. But if there are 4 cabs with only two being used at one time anyways, that would make no sense.

It makes total sense for them to send our cab up if the Auckland cab can't be fixed. I'm just confused with all this talk that the broken cab has been "fixed" or has it been replaced with our cab. If the busted cab got fixed I just really hope we get our AE cab back. And it isn't sitting up there unused while people play vs.

The Chch cabs weren't meant to replace our broken cabs.
Apparently they were meant to be the other 2 cabs which will complete our 4 way link.

Tbh as much as it pains me to say it but I'm not surprised. Noone here in CHCH was expecting AE to be here but now that it is neither of us wants to part ways with the two cabs  :-[

You guys don't mind letting us keep them right? Especially since Yifans is also getting them too  :D

If it's economics fine. But we were given 11 days with the cabs over the holiday break and the game was at $2.20 a game, not alot of time to proove the real numbers. Especially since TZ gets it's most traffic after work and with the earthquake shutting down Central City for a few days. If I knew they weren't going to stick around I would have spent more time down there. Damon and I were planning a Tournament in which Timezone were going to give away an offical old school SF2 CE Cab!!! to get people interested Of course the Tourney would have been SSF4AE. Was hoping for the much needed arcade revival so we could play at the same time as Auckland and grow our small scene.

Oh well it's just business  :-\ Play the shit out of those cabs gentlemen and if they are not being used tell TZ that there are Players hungry for games down in 3rd world earthquake torn post apocalypse Christchurch

GG's the other night guys.  T'was fun.

Um, I really want to say something mean and take the piss out of Christchurch because we are stealing their cabinets, but I reckon that there would be an evil voodoo doll somewhere in the south island that looks like me getting stabbed with pins if I did.

Apparently we are gonna have 4 cabinets at TZ in Auckland.  I think they are pretty keen to run Tourneys and stuff too.  Should be pretty cool.  Still undecided if I want to play Guy in AE tbh.  Thinking maybe him or Ibuki.  Sim feels pretty kaka imo.

Simon, Yun and Yang match up for Abel is quite easy, they suck pretty hard against gropplers.. but then againt Abel is half Glopper to me....
Anyways, your roll pretty much get u out of most their mixups and they can't really stay too close to you because of ur command grab, so its kinda harder for them than u.
Yun is more rush down, Yang is more.... half zoning, poking type character with some good mixups.
I think Yun is stronger than Yang by far.
I just don't have the money to spend to learn them both to a competitive level...so ill stick with the vinilla SSF4 characters lol ><

I will be in Hk on 27th Jan, till 1st Feb, Flying to Japan on the 1st of Feb and staying till the 9th of Feb. I will be meeting up with Tokido as well.
Come find mE la!!!!

@Rorooze,
I really don't find it a big difference with the screens in Tz and Yifans? -.- might just be me, but I find it a big difference from TZ and teh Giga monitors...
Title: Re: Auckland - BK Timezone Queen St
Post by: [NIUE] BIRRY WONG on January 11, 2011, 11:17:19 AM
Yang is 'better' overall apprently, since he has a more solid moveset and an easy as learning curve. Yun can deal larger chunks of damage in quick succession, which is why a lot of people think he's better than yang. Plus all the daigo dickriders are like "omg daigo uses yun he must be the best yaaaaarrr"

And I read somewhere that only yang has trouble with grapplers. Yun supposedly does quite well against them.
Title: Re: Auckland - BK Timezone Queen St
Post by: [8-----D] Toots on January 11, 2011, 11:42:50 AM
Seiei enbu has alot more potential than genei jin. I think by itself it pushes Yang ahead of Yun

Yun just does more damage in most scenarios but can only apply pressure with dive kicks. Yang has stronger pressure through rekkas and dive kicks  but fairly low damage. Considering they both have low hp pools they dont do much damage outside of their supers which might hold them back from being top of the tops.
Title: Re: Auckland - BK Timezone Queen St
Post by: zos'la on January 11, 2011, 12:08:42 PM
from playing only the last few weeks I feel:

Yang's U2 Definitely better.
Yang got better pokes
Average mixup and pressure. (I think)

Yun got better AA
Yun has more dmging combo's
Good pressure game and mixups.
Yun got better Super.

I think they both fail against the likes of Gief.... though this is speculation from my point of view, maybe at higher lvl play it might be different.
Though I do aggree with u with regards to Yang being easier to Learn than Yun.

I like Ben's comments better than urs WonG!!!

btw, Heading to TZ now, hope there is someone I can challenge against :( need some pew pew practice. LOL

@Weez, Tz monitors are fine, its the resolution that is messed up on ONE of the machine the lower one, the higher machine is just fine.
The yifan monitors are superb when it comes to graphics, well teh bravo ones anyways, but ppl say it lags, so um yeah thats that, I don't find it much difference in speed compared to Tz and ppl say Tz monitors are better?
ANYWAYS that is just my opinion :) but whatever lol.

Glad to see everyone's getting into this. It's good to see TZ taking this seriously with more cabs tourneys etc. Personally I prefer Yifans as Timezone is a bit dark and the air conditioning is terrible.

Will be cool if both arcades get different crews of players.

Where the unblockable gonna come from? Are you thinking about that overhead?

Man SF doesn't have enough overheads i reckon.
Title: Re: Auckland - BK Timezone Queen St

http://www.eventhubs.com/news/2011/jan/11/yangs-super-can-do-lot-damage-ssf4-arcade-edition/

A couple of mid combo resets and Yuns health disappears.

Unblockables will come from overhead (shadow) and low short at the same time - since you obviously can't block high AND low at the same instant, shit will get nuts.
Title: Re: Auckland - BK Timezone Queen St
Post by: [NIUE] weazzyefff on January 12, 2011, 01:55:47 PM
Still don't see the unblockable part. Looks like a hard to block, but not UNblockable.

Looks very powerful on that eventhubs vid ay. VERY powerful.
Title: Re: Auckland - BK Timezone Queen St
Post by: electric on January 12, 2011, 02:12:43 PM
Well if you're getting hit high and low at the exact same moment, there's no way to block that. Hence it being UNblockable.

But yeah, it still remains to be seen whether the game engine even allows this to happen
Title: Re: Auckland - BK Timezone Queen St
Post by: [NIUE] weazzyefff on January 12, 2011, 02:42:45 PM
That's what i meant i can only see the overhead. But if the low is unseeable then it's def unblockable.

I might just be blind though. I don;t have my locs on.

Weazzy Im talking about the potential for Yang to have unblockable setups in the future. Seems very possible imo

Dont watch this video if you thought vanilla 4 was broken

If you skip to around 6:00 you can see some alpha 3 unblockables using v ism. Obviously your not gonna get things as ridiculous as this in sf4 but you can see how shade type supers have potential for a lot of bullshit.

EDIT: GGs everyone today. Honda got hit pretty hard with the nerf bat but Sol was still beasting us. Im finding Yuns damage output a little low at this point outside of gj. Hopefully better bnbs are figured out for him but I cant really see how...oh and yeah most moves/normals will beat divekick if you get them out in time. Just have to mixup your divekick pressure with empty jumps normal jump ins and crossups.

I need to play a new character. Playing Fuerte makes me rage. I know what im doing, but my timing is fucked, so it doesnt come out properly.

Its looking like Yun atm. I hate myself for getting on that train, but hes pretty fucking fun. And Cody respects my beast Genei-Jin combo. c.lk, c.lk, s.lp, s.mp -> Shoulder -> Genei Jin, Shoulder, Shoulder, Shoulder, Shoulder, Shoulder, Shoulder, Shoulder, Shoulder, Shoulder, Shoulder, Shoulder, Shoulder, Shoulder, Shoulder, Shoulder, Shoulder, Shoulder, Shoulder, Shoulder, Shoulder, Shoulder, Shoulder, Shoulder, Shoulder, Shoulder, Shoulder, Shoulder, Shoulder, Shoulder, Shoulder, Shoulder, Shoulder, Shoulder, Shoulder, Shoulder, Shoulder, Shoulder, Shoulder, Shoulder, Shoulder, Shoulder, Shoulder, Shoulder, Shoulder, Shoulder, Shoulder, Shoulder, Shoulder, Shoulder, Shoulder, Shoulder, Shoulder, Shoulder, Shoulder, Shoulder, Shoulder, Shoulder, Shoulder, Shoulder, Shoulder, Shoulder, Shoulder, Shoulder, Shoulder, Shoulder, Shoulder, Shoulder, Shoulder, Shoulder, Shoulder, Shoulder, Shoulder, Shoulder, Shoulder, Shoulder, Shoulder, Shoulder, Shoulder, Shoulder, Shoulder, Shoulder, Shoulder, Shoulder, Shoulder, Shoulder, Shoulder, Shoulder, Shoulder, Shoulder, Shoulder, Shoulder, Shoulder, Shoulder, Shoulder, Shoulder, Shoulder, Shoulder, Shoulder, Shoulder, Shoulder, Shoulder, Shoulder, Shoulder, Shoulder, Shoulder, Shoulder, Shoulder, Shoulder, Shoulder, Shoulder, Shoulder, Shoulder, Shoulder, Shoulder, Shoulder, Shoulder, Shoulder, Shoulder, Shoulder, Shoulder, Shoulder, Shoulder, Shoulder, Shoulder, Shoulder, Shoulder, Shoulder, Shoulder, Shoulder, Shoulder, Shoulder, Shoulder.

Yeah Kevin's Yun was pretty beast, I did push him back into Gief for a few games though, but he smashed my sak with such amazing footsies til I got a nice 6 or 7 win streak on him with Akuma with my dumb apparently unsafe he says demon flip rush down. Even went alright with Fei Long. I didn't play him too much in SSF4 to really tell much of a difference, I didn't play him any different from usual though. Low forward xx rekka would have been the biggest broken thing ever if they added that though.

Excellent setup @ Akl Bk's Timezone! I stopped in there after work last nite till 11pm closing, scrubbing my mash technique against ibuki's 50win streak against a pro gamer last nite on AE. I liked the  setup at timezone and with two more AE's due in nxt two months, according to timezone. At $2 a game, you would want to take each game seriously compared to casual consoling carefree attitude, I've taken on aboard. I rather enjoyed the arcade ssf4Ae last nite. Spent $60 there last nite $15 Ae & $40+ on those ipod prize machines. Yep il be down for some representing old school fools stylez..i stil remember thoze days when yifans was packed with sf2 players doin the super throw glitch etc with Gillie. Hope those days return back to Auckland x10, elites vs elites.

GG's Darren(not puyat) and Andy.

Andy: I think fei long suits you. Your mid-range game is probably your biggest strength. Always has been. You had some nice hit confirms and counter hit setups going.

Dudley day 1, I'm pretty happy. If i hadn't missed that shit easy c.lp -> s.hk link so much I think my matches wouldve gone a lot better. It cost me a lot of life. Even as it stands, i'm not unhappy with how they went. I need to get more comfortable with how he moves so that i can play him more aggressively. I spent most of my games today counter-poking.

Ok sounds good, whats the address? We'll send them up as with a note showing you how to fix the resolution issues for you and the Rolento code as well just to say thanks............

Wait a minute. I see what you did there. If we send up our cabs you'll have 4 cabs and Christchurch will have none. And I doubt you'd send them back to us too....

Aw man it was a trick within a trick! You could just pm us the codes and we could have entered them ourselves saving the hassle of sending them up in the first place.

Very clever. I got very confused for a moment there, like I was watching Inception or something. Touché (Without the T swap it for a D maybe.)  ;) :P

And Oni is just............................

Yeah I got this impression too.

Evil Ryu does a shit ton of damage, but outside of his cr.forward, his normals seem pretty kaka, I guess his insane walk speed makes up for that.  His sweep seemed alot sloweras well.

DP FADC Ultra 2 worked for decent damage.  No extra animation though.

Oni was just weird.  He's another Gouken I think.

I tried it.  It isn't unblockable, you just block oni.  And because it is SFIV you can also mash a DP and have it auto-correct his nuts off.

Post by: massi4h on January 28, 2011, 12:55:12 AM
Today was mean. I stayed for about 10 hours and got quite a bit of time with both new guys. Both have such mean looking Ultras but yeah I pretty much agree with Jack. Evil Ryu is pretty much what Capcom would have done to Akuma to make a comboable ultra. He's pretty much Akuma without most of his tools but does more damage. He can do heaps of Akuma combos and he can do light tatsu srk fadc both ultras, but his sweep is so slow. His low forward moves him forward heaps but he can't combo into it. Ultra 2 needs to be real close be used as anti fireball, alot of the time I'd get the first couple hits then they'd drop out of it. But low forward, ex fireball fadc Ultra 2 does heaps of damage and looks really cool.

But yeah has no air fireball, teleport is really slow and can't really do much of a vortex. I managed to light tatsu to sweep Guile a few times today I have no idea how though. I think the c.mps mighta pushed him back enough to make the tatsu a bit meaty (like how akuma does against fuerte) but then cross up tatsu is like Ryu's.

Kinda bored of him now tbh.

But Oni is pretty unique. So far he seems real average as a character but his ultras and super look so fucking cool. Best combo finisher I had was a heavy in hp srk or if further away do an hk tatsu. Couldn't figure any decent combos out. Once again he has c.mk, ex hadouken, fadc U2 which does heaps of damage and looks cool.

He does have real good pokes though but hes really big and quite slow. Air dash to raging demon looks so awesome, like best raging demon I've ever seen lol.

It's fun going from a comboed HP to ex dash slice move into ultra for the reset, but people will start catching on quickly and that gimmick will die.

Also both of them have massive recovery on their fireballs, like SSF4 Sakura level recovery its really sad.

In terms of other characters, was doing some random select with smoof and got Cammy and thought oh gay I don't wanna play her anymore without TKCS but damn her normals felt so much better and her combos just went so smoothly. HP arrow is almost useless in combos now as it seems to only give one hit.

And Sakura feels like a really solid character. Her pokes are better, her fireball recovery is really good and yeah she still has all her old tricks, plus a couple new links. Might possibly full main her when AE DLC comes out.

Real fun day, pretty tired though. Anyone going on Monday for double dollars?

Lol that was epic.

But yeah awesome day today, when all you guys left I had one more game, but then it ended up being a 28 win streak before the connection dropped (against mostly tekken players though) with Evil Ryu. Damn he can do a ~400 damage combo without meter which is jump in hk, hp xx mk flip kick, cr.mp xx l.tatsu, hp.srk. And with fadcs you can loop the hp xx mk flip kick, cr.mp xx fireball fadc for heaps of stun. Found alot of fun with him now.

Also he can do l.tatsu, lp.srk, fadc, ex shaku, U1 as a juggle but the ultra does almost no damage. Looks cool though haha.

Started with a 15 Sakura win streak (damn Blanka I hate you) and got around the same streak with Akuma later on vs Cody/Myron/Andy/Neal. But my E.Ryu and especially my Yang today were absolute shit. GGs to everyone today.

lol haha Mason, dont be a baby. U beat my Blanka 4 towice, so stop hating my Blanka.
Hope i can fgt wif u later on.

There will be 4 cabs in totall for ssf4 AE.  As Mason said, two new cabs have been put online and I think they are trying to sort out the other two old ones which had minot problems with joystick and resolution?

As for BB... I never seen anyone played it tbh... even when it was n't patch etc -.-

The BB cab has been there a lot longer than the months or w/e the SSF4A:E cab has.

In fact, it was there before the console release of BBCS even came out.

Andy won (played akuma the whole tournament, then switched to Fei Long after Kevin took the first set in the final)
Kevin came second (Gief)
And Tony came third with his gay ass Yun :D And he used Ryu vs Kevin but still couldn't win.

haha, u need to record ur matches and watch them, u will see ur mistakes and the strategy I used, especially after the first round. If you notice the first round was pretty much a close win for me (20% health?), but second and 3rd round I had about 80% life when u were KO. So take a closer look at teh match after and see where it went wrong :)
As for demon flip... tbh I don't even know the timing for it...for the more experience Akuma players such as Jack adn Mason, I prolly look like a scrub the way I do them lol.

Hahaha was that guy you raped a T Hawk player?

Na, he started with gief and when his fullscreen lariats weren't working he went to Akuma. Then went to Ken. Against his ken I won the first round by only doing upkicks. Basically I'd stand next to him and no matter what he'd either jump at me or mash an uppercut. You think he'd learn, but some people just don't understand. It's quite bad cause I'm trying to teach him not to keep jumping and doing uppercuts but not once did he even attempt just to walk forward...

bro, Fk fadc ultra 2 - if u can keep this locked down, your Gilly would be solid. I've got silly fingers as of rite now and keep back dashing after fk with ultra 0 .lol

Tbh it's not even close to being important in his game. Especially now in AE with the even weaker damage. As long as you got trade fk to ultra you should be all good. Might be down there around 6:30 as well.

yeah fk>fadc>ultra2 proli best on round finishers, one wonders if its worth 2 Ex bars tho on 1st and 2nd round. I think a blocked guile ultra 2 does the same damage as the fk fadc U2..yet to test. U2 damage that is. Guile shooting blanks is he on AE? Be gd once this game comes to console. I'll make an effort nxt week thursday evening to come to Bk Tz..traffic to city has been an easy hour sitting from East tamaki after 5pm let alone parking drama's..when an event or numbers are high at Tz i'l make the effort to come down.

Hey dude. I notice you use guiles sweep a lot. Two reasons you shouldn't do this.

#1- It's pretty much a free focus for the opponent into a combo.

#2- It pushes you away when you could have kept the pressure on.

I played a few Guile on that day so I don't remember which one is your guile =.=". And to be honest, I can't say much from just a few games we played. Sometimes we lose just because we don't know the match up well (especially not many Ibuki around here), it's not always the mistake problems.  If we still lose after understanding the match-ups, then it will most likely be our mistakes/bad habits.
At the moment, My only advise for taking SSF4 to the next level is try to win by understanding the match-ups, don't try to win by countering player's style. That's what I've learned from the top players in Asia regions.

I remember him getting more range on Ultra 2 and made the command easier, so I guess it's a better punisher now (would like to see it punish some dash punches but I dunno) and then they made it kaka by giving it a startup frame so basically it's jumpable after the flash now... Can't remember anything else about him.

Dont really know tbh, but last time time i played his s.hp (chop) seemed a bit better (priority) but it could be just me making things up in my head ::). I havent played enough to notice any buffs/differences. Definitely a bit harder to win now with the bloody jab headbutt nerf!

Air throws have always been like that. It was the same in Vanilla. Because they have range longer than conventional hitboxes, but they still have vulernable hitboxes at short range, it means they are able to beat out a lot of stuff. Think of air throws like projectiles but with short range static hitboxes, then their priority makes a lot more sense.

Air throw ranges are different depending on what character youre using. I know Guile's air throw has the longest range, followed I think by Vega's and then Fuertes. This is why these three characters tend to beat out a lot of stuff with their air throws.

Title: Re: Auckland - BK Timezone Queen St
Post by: massi4h on May 16, 2011, 07:36:58 PM
Dhalsim has a major disadvantage against Akuma. Probably his worst matchup. Blanka as most would agree is either even or slightly advantageous vs Akuma. Great pokes and pressure and very hard to vortex due to 4 frame ex up ball and the fact that he gets up 1 frame (maybe it was 2) later than the normal cast.

I tried to play AE last night, kept trying to ryu tats with jab

And during character select I kept pushing buttons, ended up with Yun.  Dragon Punch double kicks!  reminded me of the fat guy during my nintendo double dragon 3 days.

do you know what Yun's up kick startup is? all verions incl EX :D to me it seems as 4 frames... but might be wrong.
