Bro youll be able to do it in like 2 hours tops. And thats on the hardest settings. Drop it down to one round and put it on easy and youll have your characters in about 30 minutes. It wont be a challenge for you on hardest, so you might as well just blitz through it on easy. And knowing you, you would prefer the player competition anyway. :)

Eitherway, the servers are Windows Live servers. I don't think they would have networking running pre-release date.
Had some games with Andy already.
7th is for the US . Europe and aussie/NZ get it on the 3rd which is nice that we get it early for once .
why is it that i keep getting 'cannot connect to live. region is not supported by live' when some of my friends can :c

90% of the playerbase is like that. I win considerably more online than i lose, and im fucking terrible. But i guess thats XBL, and i imagine PC online will be slightly better.

About 4 gig or so. You can always get 1 person to download the steam files and have them copy them to your pc or send them via dvd if that is too much for you to download.

Has anyone tried to record their games with this: Taksi (http://taksi.sourceforge.net/)
It's like fraps but free. I tried recording the benchmark and could do 30fps with vsync off, but it had quite a bit of tearing. Some of you people with faster processors might be able to record matches and whatnot.

I tried using it a couple of years ago when I was making a video for WoW. tbh, your better off just getting fraps. taksi is too resource hoggy.
The other one to try is if you can get hte retail version of Gamecam.

Yea that's him. Mine was also on default set to USA, but in your profile tab (when you push the Home button) you can edit your location under the 'edit gamer profile' area.

It seems totally different playing on pc than the 360 , my timing is even more horrible on pc lol . Need to practise pc more and turn down some settings to get a steady 60fps .

Wee Nelson boy (read: old and tubby) who loves me my fighting games, but playing against 3 bar fireball throwers is depressing me severly :/. Came this way via fluxcore pimping on tfc/tf2 forums.
Attempting to main Rog and doing a fairly shit showing of it. Been playing this on psn since release and now pc primarily (no fightstick for the xbox360). Windows live tag is wumpwump if any of ya's want to school me or be kind, stop laughing and gimme some pointers.
Cool to see a nz fighting community, might even pop into the local arcade (what is it in aucks?) when I am up for the alice cooper in Sept.
Anyways enough rambling... need to cook dinner then play some more I think...

Score, I ordered a copy for $65 from First Games with free shipping... going by their website it's in stock so should have it by the end of the week, hopefully. Looking forward to getting into the game/community and will be heading along to the RvB tourney you have coming up, but only watching :) Only just got SF3 working for mame the other day, other than that my experience with the newer SF games are very minimal. I'm really sick to death of the arena state in WoW right now, so this is the perfect opportunity to get out of it!
On a side note i'm keen to pick up a temp fight stick until I can get my 2nd mame cab underway... what would you guys recommend? I saw earlier about ordering from the capcom site to get a cheap SE stick... would you guys say to get the xbox or ps3 version to use? you would have a better idea of the dominant consoles at tourneys and what not, so getting a compatible one would be sweet. I'd prob look to sell it later on too...

If you are looking to get a temp stick, you will be looking at about $150 nzd? estimate but that stick you will be able to modify and such of course. It doesn't matter which version you get xbox or ps3, just make sure it is PC compatible for your pc version.
another cheap stick is the Mayflash fight stick for ps2/ps3 and PC.
the parts are not too bad but you can always swap them out for better ones such as sanwa, easy.
I am getting custom stick from overseas with sanwa parts in them. It's a lot cheaper and it can be either one of the following xbox/ps3 or PC.
If you were going the route of making a stick yourself, could you get a cheap controller like this (http://www.trademe.co.nz/Gaming/Joysticks-gamepads/auction-228969875.htm) and cut it up and rewire to a good joystick/buttons put in a new case? or is there a bit more to it?

Basically butchering a controller and putting decent buttons etc onto it is, in a nutshell what you would be doing. You want to make sure the controller youre getting has a common ground PCB, otherwise modding it becomes a bit of a mission. Do a bit of research on the SRK tech forums. Theyre incredibly helpful for this sort of thing. And a bit of research on the controller youre looking at buying and you should be able to find whether its common ground or not.
ther eis a thread on about custom sticks and all you need to know on SRK forum.
Bascially you got the idea of gett a game pad and ripping it apart and wiring it up to the joystick/ buttons.
I use a PS1 analog controller pad and did the exact.

Yeah, you have to use the colour the file says. Simply renaming doesn't work.

hey guys just bump into this forum today.
I am from australia and play online sf4 (& 3s) online extensively.
i think i've played some of the kiwis through GGPO on 3s, namely devilstar before.
and i think i've got Toomeke on ps3 as well.
Now i m moving on to the PC version due to the flexibilty (to hack the costome LOL) and the 'closer to arcade speed' factor (PS3 sf4 is little slower).
is there a list of sf4 players from NZ that i can access at easy, and know who the better players are?

Yeah I haven't encountered any bad connections with anyone really, but I find the PC version has more 'random slowdown' which is IMO makes it more frustrating than the xbox version...
That is because of the PC specs of each player is different... Honestly if you think about it, Simonfish sues a freaking Latop and wireless connection WHILE 4 other PC's are using the same connection at the time...
I've hardly liag with anyone who has half a decent PC spec and connection...

yea man, just came back from overseas holiday and scored a ASUS EAH5750 Formula 1Gg DDR5, way better than my old 256mb 8600gts, now can run 1920x1080 max settings with fixed 60fps.

I noticed something wired too, on top of my head the wake up DP against opp's cross up never worked on PC version so it's a real pain fighting gef. It's very easy to dp a cross up on 360 into UC or whatever.

I added all the ppl on forum's PSN list, but always just 1 or 2 ppl on and most of the time nobody play SF4...
Mine isn't the ASUS brand but is part of the ATI family of cards (ATI vs Nvidea) who make the reference boards for graphic cards. I just recently bought the 5970 which is a beast.

I got Forza 3 its gotta good mix of sim/arcade feel to it. However my Logitech G27 setup doesnt work on xbox. Im playing Race 07 on pc in the mean time anyway which is arguably THE best driving sim ever.
