You're the only city in NZ that I know of with a SFIII Double Impact machine :)

Hello. Not sure if moderator will allow this here. We've just opened a Xbox360 & poker lounge on Moray Place in Dunedin, called Gamerz Club (just alongside Rialtos cinema). Myself and another staff is pretty active on SSF4. My gamertag is mysteryz82 on xbox live.

Although we are quite small (seventeen 32" and couple of 50"), we hope to be able to work with nzism in terms of events etc for the South Island region. Nevertheless, our in-store events will start in July, including SSF4 Tournament.

Hope to see you guys. Go DUNEDIN! Cheers!

Wow, this is the kind of venue we sorely need back up and running in the north island!

Hopefully you'll be able to gather the dribs and drabs of the dunedin fighting game populace, and of course NZism is happy to help out in whatever ways possible. I'd say you'd probably want to make a separate thread for your venue rather than hiding it in the Dunedin thread even, just for exposure.

Good luck!

Yeah, Dunedin's got their shit sorted.

I still haven't even been to giga yet in Auckland to see what it's like   :(

Road trip?

I was thinking the same thing  :)

I'll most likely be away when the Dunedin tourney happens.  :(

Would be keen to road trip down south with some of our Christchurch players once I'm back around October though.

GamerzClub, maybe you should pm MJT. He's got a couple of players that he's been playing regular offline casuals with in Dunedin.

It would be cool to combine forces have a proper South Island regional next year for either EVO APAC or NZism nationals 2011. ATM I've only been naming it South Island regionals hoping that some people in the South Island that weren't from Christchurch would show up and compete as well.

Sounds like a cool venue, hope to be able to come down to Dunedin and check it out sometime  :)

Thanks for the support guys. I'm not sure where to post a new thread regarding our new shop. If the moderator could kindly guide us please? (Sorry m noob in this forum). On the other hand, do checkout our website www.gamerzclub.co.nz (pics is in 'About') or just search for GamerzClub on facebook. (http://www.facebook.com/pages/Dunedin-New-Zealand/Gamerz-Club/115729165108847?v=wall&ref=sgm&__a=3)

We have not confirm the date for the tourney yet, since we are working on Fifa World Cup tourney and MW2 tourney at the moment. But will definitely fit SSF4 in July. I'll confirm the date either here or on our facebook page by end of the week.

At the mean time, anyone who would like to come in for a jamm is more than welcomed. We have 4 SE sticks (2 with sanwa buttons for the more serious ones), and a wireless hori stick (from tekken 6) for hire while gaming. Cheers!

p/s: Sorry to moderator if links are not allowed here. Didn't read forum rules etc.... :P

I can just shift the relevant posts into a new topic specific to your business if you want. I was just thinking in this Other forum, but separate from the general Dunedin thread so anyone looking can easily find info for it.

Not many rules around here tbh, as long as it's fighting game related it's pretty much all good. We're not in the habit of excluding places that are trying to help out or provide opportunities!

I'll pop in for some games when I'm in town around end of july

Thanks for the support NZISM. Will be much appreciated if moderator can move our relevant posts to a more public area where people can see that we actually exists :) Cheers!

On the hand, the competition is finally confirmed. Competition details can be found on our facebook page http://www.facebook.com/GamerzClub (http://www.facebook.com/GamerzClub). Instead of a one-off tourney, I've decided to start off with a weekly competition, focusing on building the community within SSF4 players. This is also the reason for the Round Robin format and prize structure; players get something in return, and the entry-fee is made worth-while.

Nevertheless, this is our first go at it, hence any feedback from players to help improve our service will be much appreciated.

Thanks again and hope to see you guys there!

Old topic but hey... dunners represent! All good. Bought SSF4 last night for PS3. id is jimmy_strings. I'm still new to SF4 and unlearning a whole lot of stuff from SF3... (no jimmy, there is no parry, stop doing that)

Hey man GGs last night. Glad you found the site man, for someone who brought the game yesterday you were doing real good, you will probably want to talk to gamerzclub and hang out with them for some offline sessions and apparently they have been doing some online sessions with chch so they should be able to help you improve your game. Good luck.

Hey guys, I'm looking at dropping into Dunedin in a few days and was curious if you had any arcades with SFIV/SSFIVAE.

If you do, could someone hit me with some addresses I can drop into?

Edit: Is this the place to visit? : http://www.gamerzclub.co.nz/#!contact

Yeah that's like a little net cafe for consoles iirc. Dunedin's got no arcade though. Should just come to Auckland instead lol
