agreed

however it would be nice if sent wasn't rewarded for playing like a retard.

x factor needs to be removed from the game. A flat damage nerf of like 20 % would be nice for all characters.

Game is a lot of fun when the dumb stuff aint happening

I agree with this, but when people get better Sent wont be rewarded for playing like a retard.

We differ here because I think x factor is fine, and is a cool addition. Knowing when to use it I think could be a really interesting skill to work with. However, while I do LIKE x factor, I think lvl2/3 x factor is totally unnecessary. That shit just gets WAAAY too ridiculous. And i dont think this will change with the gameplay. Thats the only thing i think maybe needs re-working/removing. Lvl1 X factor = all good. lvl2/3 = iffy at best.

At this point I agree with the damage nerf thing. But this could change as the gameplay changes. And I think the gameplay will change drastically. The combos we are seeing now wont. But the way people approach and defend themselves is going to be all over the place.

On the other hand I think assists and the damage they take is fine. Call a bad assist and make it take 50% damage is a good thing I think.

I dont think combos are going to be the extent of the skillcaps we see by a long shot. What about setups off those combos? We havent found many of those yet. What about resets and mixups? Not seeing many of those.

What kind of setup could you possibly need after a combo, since they all practically kill someone? It's not like you're getting a guard break on the next char anymore. Same thing for resets - if you're going to kill the char anyway, why reset?

What I mean is, for characters with less damage potential than sent in a single unmetered combo, they might be put in a really favourable position for one of their options/mixups that we havent seen yet after one of their combo variations (that again we might not have seen yet) And thats where their damage is going to come from. Its not necessarily a guard break, but the principle is the same.

And there are no combos with no meter that can 100% a character yet. 50% maybe. 60% if youre lucky, and thats only with certain characters. Other, non-sentinelly characters might have better options OFF of lower damage combos. Do a 40% combo that leads into a reset into another 40% combo, or do a combo that does 70% damage and leaves you at the other end of the screen against deadpool. Thats why you would reset. You know, the same reason you would do it in ANY OTHER GAME.

Of course all characters can probably off another character if they blow their whole wad in one combo like in half the videos weve seen. But that situation will only come up ONCE in a match.

Yes the damage is really high, but you make it sound astronomical. KFC lvl3 is. But outside of that, its not nearly as bad as you think. Youre being way too cynical and youre are greatly exaggerating how the game actually works outside of one specific scenario.

nothing to do with the above argument/conversation but this sent combo does 80% damage before he uses the level 1 super which takes the damage to about 95%

so almost a full 100% combo with one super bar or 80 % damage with no bar whatsoever ..........

this is neo mvc2 masters sentinal by the way

also this 100%combo with sent

To be fair, he is doing them on characters with shitty health. Still awesome vids though haha.

And also, I wasnt talking about Sentinel in the sentence LN was addressing. I was giving examples of what you need to look for in other characters before people start pre-judging whats broken and what isnt. But that didnt need to be said because Euan said his post had nothing to do with our conversation.

Barnstorm

to go back to the control issue from earlier i am starting to get the hang of it now

One thing that will take a while to suss is the order of characters since it just it doesnt work like mvc2 with the order of characters changing

First day i wasnt sure why my assist were not coming out but it doesnt change order of assists when a character dies which is kind of good

MvC2 was played basically like SF2 when it came out, and took 7 years or so to get to the style and form it looks like today.
did it really take seven years? i finally picked it up towards the end of '05 and the gist of what i saw in high level play then essentially looks the same now. i havent really noticed any massive changes or discoveries since then (besides that guy turning chun into a low tier IM with all those infs)  but then again i pay little attention to shit like that.

Apparently the PS3 version has frame drops.

Just putting that out there.
