So I've been thinking about making this thread for a while now - it's basically going to be a collection of articles that I have personally read and thought "man, that's some good shit right there - keen." after reading it. I'm going to slowly start compiling them here so everyone can choose to read them and benefit from the goodies.

Wow that's a really good one Electric mane.

BUT i doubt my i'm gonna follow through with that lol. I'm too automatic mode sometimes.

If i play hardout scrubs i do that sometimes. Like i won't jump, i will just poke and AA. And sometimes when they're real scrub and their nearly dead i just block for ages. And see if i can run the time out by just blocking and techin - it's quite fun, should try it some time lol.

One of the comments was really good question ay. I'm interested in his next couple of articles involving answers on this question.

There's a lot I could say, but I'll just say this: Since I have been getting the news of your articles of SRK, it's been really insightful, as I've gotten really good in my local seen, but just sorta hit a wall to where I haven't seemed to get any better, I still don't know what to do. Execution can always be worked on but other than that I'm at a loss. Mindgames, Reading the opponent, matchup knowledge, I guess I could learn on those too but I just feel something missing. Shit, I know exactly what you mean - I'm the king of automatic mode - it's not until after I get smoked that I think back and I'm like "WTF did I do the same ass shit and not adapt ?"

I'm slowly but surely unravelling exactly what it is that makes me a scrub haha

That's a nice article. I've been reading up and listening to podcasts like this recently in the hopes to improve my game.

Post updated - some of you may have heard the "How to get better" podcast by Juicebox Abel a few weeks back - it has now been transcribed by the folks at iPlayWinner.

Also, a couple good reads from HAV - I think Playing to Learn has been highlighted here before, because yes, it is THAT good.

He's the hero NZism deserves.
But not the one it needs right now.
So we'll hunt him.
Because he can take it.
Because he's not our Hero.
He's a Niuean Guardian.
A watchful poster.

Hey electric i know this is for articles but would you mind updating your first post with these videos, have been talking to a couple guys on psn and they're from auckland and are keen to go to ranbats, they are keen to level up. I couldn't find a thread that had basic OS throw, plinking and hit confirming tutorials to show them and didn't want to create a thread just in case i missed it but saw this thread and thought we could combine powers to make this the beginner thread help with advance strats guide. Just an idea, not sure if you guys gonna like some of the ultradavid vids though. and before someone says tell them to come to ranbats and we will just show them, sometimes its better to watch a vid before you go to ranbats, to get a better understanding how it works.

Beginner stuff

More advanced

just to get an idea on how some advanced OS work.

(pretty boring but gives you an idea on advanced mindgames and what to look for when your watching gameplay videos to improve your game.)

basic option selects for the whole cast dunno how useful some of them are. He does a really good OS tutorial on zangief in a separate video because thats who he mains.
