Marvel has ruined me in that regard. And i was the same with KOFXI. I want to get all up in your face, and then beast all over it.

is it just me, or does kof have no footsies? its all about the smalljump/hyper hops whatever there. then again, its not like we were pro with that shit at all. they took away kof xi before we could get there

There are no footsies in KOF just looking for openings and the RUSHDOWN!

Just like how parrying completely changed footsies in 3S becasue you had to worry about peopple baiting you into a free parry -> counter hit. The multiple different kinds of jumpin and being able to roll back and forward in KOF kind of emilminated footsies.
Most people that have always played Street Fighter/Capcom fighters seem to have a hard time picking up KOF, I think it's because on the surface it seems familiar but when you start playing the only advantage you have is probably execution. The rest you need to relearn.

The KOF tutorial vids Alan posted a while back were awesome!

On a slightly different note, given that there is only one guile combo in that vid. Why the hell does a character like guile, who has a terrible offensive game, have such awesome combo potential?
