From what I've seen on streams in the past couple of days, I'm pretty skeptical of the game myself. I've been very off/on with it since the very start though.

Yer that's what i thought. I didn't wanna say anything though. I use that button heaps in sf4 but in Marvel it's hard as to hit lol. Don't know why , it just is.

MvC2 was played basically like SF2 when it came out, and took 7 years or so to get to the style and form it looks like today. It's pretty flawed to compare that with the state that MvC3 is already at, even before it's out, which is easy 80% combos with one super, and insane comebacks with the last character due to a mechanic which makes your character much much faster and do much more damage. I don't see how you're going to find new things which only happen to be AS good as that.

The question is can the game actually be fun after any further 'superior broken shit'.

Play the game before you question its fun factor imo. I still stand by this being the most fun ive had in a fighting game since MVC2. I have a couple of issues with the way KFC works, and to a lesser extent, with sentinel at this point, but it hasnt really made it any less fun for me. Its pretty flawed to dismiss a games fun factor because you have seen a few videos of sentinel beasting people, when the game hasn't even been released yet. Even people like Justin aren't really thinking their complaints through.

I would like to point out things like "Dudley is going to be broken in SSF4" and "Adon is the worst character in the game"

Its looking pretty scary, but when people get used to fighting it I honestly dont think it will be as threatening as it looks now. Definitely still threatening, but the tears atm are fucking stupid imo.

sentinel is broken. it's painfully obvious by watching the streams that are around. deadpool is a dick too.

btw: lol i'm eating my words from before. hopefully someone comes up with something that beasts sentinel in training mode on release.

I think sentinel is much better at entry level than the other characters, and thats where the problem lies. Everybody is at entry level at the moment. So if sent is the best entry level character, he seems broken. Honestly in 6 months time I think he will still be strong, but I dont think he will be even close to being as bad as he looks atm.

People just havent found ways to deal with him effectively in the current system. Most of these guys are trying to use MVC2 anti-sent strats in a game that isnt MVC2, and theyre whining about it not working. Its a different game, and hes a different character. You need to do different things.

Furthermore, I don't think sents skillcap is much higher than what we are seeing atm, but given how all the other characters play, I think they have a lot more potential than Sent does.

At the moment in all these videos we are seeing the extent of their combo potential ONLY. Sent has the highest burst damage in the game, and when everyone is just learning beast as combos and is spending the whole match trying to land them then OF COURSE he looks broken. And thats all we are seeing. People trying to combo, and people trying to zone MVC2 style using characters that ARE NOT THE SAME AS MVC2. I dont think combos are going to be the extent of the skillcaps we see by a long shot. What about setups off those combos? We havent found many of those yet. What about resets and mixups? Not seeing many of those. Traps? Where are they? We havent even begun to scratch the surface of character movement, assist usage, or even the versatility of the other characters toolsets. All of which could potentially be very effective against sent.

Basically, the game is not out yet. Everyone is still shit at it. Sentinel is the easiest character in the game to do stuff with. Everyone is shit + easiest character means the easiest character = strongest character. When people get less shit, we will see more difficult characters using strats that sent wont be able to get around easily, and he wont seem as strong.

People need to fucking wait, and play the damn game before they all have a big sook about a broken character. If in 6 months time, Sent is still as bad as people think he is now, THEN we have a problem. At the moment, everyone is WAAAAAY overreacting.

however it would be nice if sent wasn't rewarded for playing like a retard.

x factor needs to be removed from the game. A flat damage nerf of like 20 % would be nice for all characters.

Game is a lot of fun when the dumb stuff aint happening
