Also, I didn't have insurance because I was too poor to afford it when I moved in. I've just finished paying off my debts and now I can't get insurance anyway because the place has been broken into. If I want insurance I need:
Double key deadbolts on all doors
A Monitored alarm

Or:
Double key deadbolts on all doors
A Non monitored alarm with an external siren (professionally installed)
Key locking shutter on all windows

Gonna turn our house alarm on now after hearing that. Sucks when friends shit gets stolen. I've been robbed twice second time they stole our guitarist pedals worth tons. He was really good about it. Also stole my Saturn, Megadrive and rare games and controllers. I hate it when things get nicked that aren't worth a ton of money but is really hard to get hold of. I just imagine the crims getting $2 bucks per game at cash converters somewhere
