I grew up in an extended family with my Dad, Mum, Grandpa, Grandmother, Brother, Sister and my down-syndrome Aunty, and yeah you should probably have a little more sympathy for them.  It is rough going bringing up mentally disabled kids.

When my Grandparents passed away there was no way that my mum could look after her, and she lives in an IHC care home now.  If she didn't want to do something, there was noooooo way you could get her to do it.

Cops all new her by name at the end of it, as they would be constantly picking her up for running away.  Tried to knife my mum a couple of times too.  Built like a brick shit-house as well.  I remember she knocked me out when I was little once, and bowled over a couple of cops that were trying to stop her haha.

She comes and stays with my mum and my sister every few months, for a day or so, but it's still pretty rough.  She's pretty old for downs too, almost 40.

So yeah, moral of the story, don't hate on them bro, they prolly doing the best they know how.
