Hey guys just wondering if you guys still have a scene happening in Dunedin at Gamerzclub ? Also if anyone else in the South Island was interested in a South Island fighting game tournament in Christchurch in June.

We are thinking of putting on a South Island regionals before Nationals this year. While nothing has officially been announced just yet the 2 main games will be SSF4 AE and MvC3. We are also looking at MK9 and 3rd Strike online if it's out by then. Prizes will be cash and signed goodies I got from my visit to Capcom USA HQ as well as some spot prizes, it will in June be at Gamestation.

Just thought I'd throw it out there and see who's keen on doing the mission to quake town  :)

Mid June sounds good to me. Really wouldn't want this to be on at the same time as Shadowloo Showndown (25th-26th June). Maybe 11th or 18th of June? or even the first week of July  :)

Maybe 18th of June would be the go. Should be helluva fun. Tons of casual matches as well, we'll do Marvel and Super AE on the same day maybe have casuals the night before. :)

Ok so AE and MVC3 are definites? awesome! I'd be keen to also feature HF since it's gonna be at Nats but I don't think we have enough people who play that to make it great (Which is why I've already saved you a lot of trouble and crowned myself the Chch HF Champ  ;D).

June 18th is probably the best date imo because having it in July is a bit too close to Nats and just doesn't make sense if we have a regionals AFTER Nats. We had AE at TZ for a couple of months too so no one in chch can really complain about not learning the changes either. I hope the boys in Duners are keen to come too  ;D

Yeah what about MK9? Shall we wait and see? Hyper Fighting would be awesome but playing it legit is pretty tricky. We'd have to Xbox 360 it and that version has flaws.

Right o just gonna go for it. Mortal Kombat 9 will be included as well and will probably be the only south island tournament we'll have for it. Will contact the kiwi distributor and see if I can squeeze some goodies out of them. So the games are:
Mortal Kombat 9
Super Street Fighter 4 AE
Marvel vs Capcom 3

I'm thinking 5-6 bucks per game entry. How much would you guys be willing to spend? So 15 or 18 for the whole thing. Tournament will be a 1 day event with brackets run on both setups.

Pad and stick for both consoles are supported. I'll take some photos and list the prizes as soon as I get some free time.

Oh this is looking pretty hype!!  ;D Fuck wish I didn't delete like 3/4 of my facebook friends could have gotten a bit more advertisement out. Anyway, will find places at uni to put posters up

Nick4now

Prizes are looking awesome  :o I don't mind paying $8 a game but up to you guys. If we can get more people to come play by lowering it $6 then that's obviously the better choice lol I'll defintely be entering all 3 games even though I don't know how to play MK9  ;D

We could move it to Sunday 26th maybe. I'm sure alot of uni students are in the same boat. Just don't wanna get too close to nationals in mid July.

Two more prizes added:
C. Viper SF4 figure (thanks Scott)
Cammy capcom companion figure
