Back in 2005, after a year hiatus in Sydney, stereomonkey came back to NZ to challenge me at mvc2. The resulting matches were recorded, and the least embarrasing have just been uploaded to youtube!

Please note this was play from 2 years ago, and we were both very rusty from not playing for a year. Of roughly 65 matches, I have selected 11 which are at least somewhat entertaining IMHO.

Without further ado...

those were alright. although, once you get the hang of mashing out of hyper-grav, magneto has to look elsewhere for damage, like the unmashables and infinites :S

also, needed more cable :P

Yeah, I know... as I said, it'd been a year since I last mashed out of hypergrav, completely lost the knack.
We'd also completely lost the ability to 3xAHVB (possibly due to sticks), so I didn't pick cable matches... they looked so scrubby.

00:38 into that vid, nice snapback! I never quite got the hang of that against other people but could land it on the computer AI fairly consistently.
Nice vids by the way.

double snapbacks are my fav too!!!  its nice when u get it off on their 2nd characters(usually the annoying ones) like cable and storm.  They flip the match around big time

fluxcore

Haha, some guy from america posted a comment on match #30 saying that we missed so many easy combos that we should give up marvel :D

Given that those matches were after a 1 year break and I haven't really played since then (2 years ago) it's almost true!

[NIUE] BIRRY WONG

<Smoof>
He's the hero NZism deserves.
But not the one it needs right now.
So we'll hunt him.
Because he can take it.
Because he's not our Hero.
He's a Niuean Guardian.
A watchful poster.
BIRRY WONG.

Hey flux, how are you recording your matches?

Hey flux, how are you recording your matches?

Those were super low tech - Dreamcast hooked into a VCR :D
Then I ran the VCR through a Capture card onto my computer & edited the result with Virtual dub... that's it!

Also why they look pretty shitty... vcr is low quality, and my capture card was INCREDIBLY crap.
