ggs weazzy, lucky they nerfed sent, otherwise i woulda prob lost all my matches lol. where you like using the dhc trick by any chance? cause i coulda sworn i got hit by like 4 or 5 hyper combos in a row in some of the earlier games. nice mix ups and teleports with akuma, i stopped trying to do them with wesker cause i kept getting both characters tagged. sent is still so beasty, i been try to lame him out but sometimes get impatient and rush in and eat that launching kick thingy,

Fucking Wesker soooo anoying. Dante's so slow. I was just sitting there like don't poke you will lose. Then your doing nothing so i go to poke and you fucking beat me out. Fuck i'm sure Wesker bad matchup for Dante ay. I can't do teleport setups cos instead of blocking you would teleport and fuck the startup of my teleport. I was trying to sj airdash in to fuck up Wesker when you try to shoot. But i kept getting shot and comboed lol. But i'm sure that's what you suppose to do to Wesker ay? Duno. Oh well gg's. problem with my team is i don't have a good anchor at the end to fully utilise lvl 3 xf, so my only strat is to play defensively for a chance to land his lvl 3 after xf from a block string though i'm still not doing it properly cause i miss or get hit out of xf

gonna have to hit the lab with ironman, dunno how to use him that well on point, i'd change to another character but his unibeam assist is too good for wesker and hulk, only other person who has the same assist is chris, but his dhc isn't as good and i'm even worse using him in xf.

I hate the term 'Anchor'. Commentators have overused the term to the point where people are basing choices in and around what there last characters is capable of. Unless youre running phoenix, or pre-nerf sentinel, then planning for your 3rd char to come in with lvl3 XF and win the game isn't a good gameplan IMO. And it's only going to get less and less effective as people improve.

Look at Justin Wong. He has tron as his 3rd in his She-Hulk/Ammy/Tron team, but shes not an 'anchor' by any means. Shes there mostly to suppliment his other two characters with her assist. She's his weakest link on that team in terms of a character being on point. Having an anchor char isnt necessary to be effective. Its not week one anymore. The whole 'whoever uses x factor first loses' rule doesnt apply anymore. Instead of looking to save for a level 3 X Factor, you should look to use your XF to kill off something thats giving you issues.

Example. If im facing a team with a haggar assist, and i find myself getting tagged by that a lot, and most of the damage is coming from the opponent following the assist up with a combo, Then I want to snap Haggar in, land a combo, x factor and go for the kill. This makes it a lot easier to function against the remaining two characters. Similarly, if you catch multiple chars in one combo, dont be afraid to burn XF to get the double KO in a lot of situations. Characters with LVL3 XF are ALL a hell of a lot stronger. But its also not hard to run away from if theyre just popping it and trying to lol there way to a victory. The best way to use XF is to combo into it so that it gets you an important kill imo. Or to use it during a blockstring to turn your opponents pressure back in their face. This can be done with any of your 3 characters, and it doesn't need to be saved for your 'anchor'. Level 3 DOES last a long time, and gives you a better damage bonus, but you end up doing the same job with the lower levels as well (getting a one touch death combo)

Anyway, now that im done with that useless rant...

Wesker/Iron Man is a great combo because of the unibeam/teleport shenanigans. But there are other characters with similar assists. (Or at least, assists that do the same job for wesker as unibeam) Magneto Disruptor, Doom Plasma beam for instance. Also, If you modify your strat a bit, you can use other assists to the same effect. Like say, instead of calling the assist at full screen and going for a teleport, move in to say, 50-75% distance and you can use amaterasu cold star in a similar way. Or even Hulk Gamma wave (though this isnt quite as good because of how it leaves the opponent after it hits) There are a few more options that I havent mentioned. It would be worth experimenting with stuff. Even stuff you wouldnt think works, like say, a slower moving projectile like Ryu's fireball. I dont know how useful that would be, but the amount of sick shit you can bust out in this game off of stuff that doesnt look like it should work is pretty massive, and I wouldnt be surprised if you could work out something similar with a different character.

Although I don't entirely agree with Bill's post about picking a third character, I think he is right in saying that how good they are as an anchor is not the only reason to put them there.  Also, given how effectively Wesker can use the KFC in that "America's favorite combo" thingy he does, it's not unfeasible to expect that you don't "need" your last character to use it well.

In saying that, I don't think Iron man is a good "third" character to have in your team.  His super isn't fast except for his level 3, so for example if your opponent calls an assist badly you cant just bust out the proton cannon given how much startup it has.  Also, without an assist he has trouble controlling alot of space.  He is definitely one of those characters that can do a bit of everything, but doesn't really specialise in anything.  He can rush, and he can zone well, but he needs help.

It sounds like you have Wesker and Ammy atm.  If you want Ironman, I reckon you could put Ironman on point, then Wesker, then Ammy.  That would work well I think.

In my mind I think a third character should do at least one of the following:

- Have a fast abusable super that can punish opponents bad assist calls, or laggy moves
- Have a great assist that supports your whole team.  (eg: Tron or Haggar)
- Can control alot of space safely and easily, and can also get in on your opponent easily regardless of where they are without an assist

Ammy definitely fits the bill imo.  Good super, can use X factor well. controls space, and the vine dash can get you in for easy pressure on your opponent.

Okay, I reckon go  IM/Wesker/Hulk if you want to play that team.  I don't think that Hulk is the greatest to have at the end, but you can use his assist with Ironman pretty well to lock them down and chip with Smart bomb and Unibeams.  Then Wesker at second spot lets you DHC to him safely if you want.  He should also be coming in with a decent amount of meter if IM dies, so you can square the match back up by comboing into his level 3 pretty easily.  And then having the advantage on the next character coming in with your X factor still activated.

Hulks assist helps them both I guess.  I don't know how well he will go as a third, but at least he has big damage potential with his supers, you can also do Gamma Tsunami XFC Gamma Tsunami will kill any badly called assists if you have hulk at the end, and can also do great damage to a point character.
