Still haven't confirmed =/ I'd have thought this would be ok and mainly apply to PC just to prevent people competing using all that not so legit sheet. If they do apply this to consoles it would be rather stupid considering you can play this sort of thing in so many other ways that are still legal >< I'd feel stink for brothers or something who don't really need to buy individual copies

Yeah as I said I'm sure it won't be a real problem... almost all of their rules and things are strictly for the PC side of things, console is really a sideshow.

It's a game at the World Cyber Games and may become a qualifier meaning the winner gets to go overseas to rep NZ. This definitely won't happen if the tournament doesn't meet the minimum numbers.

Someone please sign up for Gears 2!!! We only need one more team for the tournament to go ahead. It will be fine in regards to not owning the game, I'm sure you can borrow off someone else who is not playing at the time. Not everyone plays at once. Also if it is really an issue and you need some motivation I will personally rent a copy of Gears 2 for your team so you can split screen and the tournament can go ahead.

Does that mean we need headphones also?  and does anyone in the Auckland area want to rent out their monitor for those few days?  I really do not want to have to bring a monitor from Oz just so we can play.

Awesome to see you guys supporting the other tournaments helping them go ahead.

About headphones, we had to bring them last year as well, but usually as long as the volume is not overly loud no one cares if its through speakers, only when guitar hero is too loud with the same song for the 20th time is when the pc gamers the table over start to get annoyed.
