Fully in agreement we need more people, I have this site in every signature of every forum I have ever visited, it's just not easy to find people that care enough, in my experience.
Do you reckon there would be a chance we could do like a stall at armageddon?
Have a bunch of streetfighter games going, see if we can get some giveaways from somewhere to promote the games and the site somehow?
I know I wouldn't mind contributing financially to something like that, depending on how much it would cost.

I like it. The only issue i have is that its hard to read the name of the site on the bottom, and if we're using it essentially to promote the site, then i think that needs to be pretty readable.
I think all it needs is to make the dots more distinguishable. maybe chuck in some extra spaces.

As for the stall, I think it costs quite a lot of money to have one, which means we'd have to be able to recoup it somehow. Interesting idea though.
What about organising a national tournament much akin to the ones that Timezone have run in the recent past.
Except do it on console and use something like JB hifi to advertise it. We might even be able to get them to sponsor spot prizes and what not. Do regionals in each major town Welly, Chch, and auckland.
See if they'll pop for flying the top 2 or 3 in each to on location.
I have some hookups in alt TV stuff like that. Might be able to get it some TV time even. All the while we have our logo splashed all over the place. That might work?

Noone is arguing with the inclusion of magnus and jin in the logo, I think people would just like to see a broader spectrum of characters in there. Hard to do, given that SNK characters all have terrible silhouettes. But i dunno, maybe drop bison/cammy for Sol/iori or something.
What Bill personally thinks: I like that the font itself links in with the SF4 style, i DO think the colour scheme is getting a bit too close to it though. Ive said what i want to say about the smaller-type font in an older post. I definitely like the logo a lot but i understand peoples concerns that there is a little too much street fighter in the logo. (I think the blue also kind of helps to distinguish it from street fighter.) The site IS about fighting games in general, not just SF4. I feel the logo needs to reflect this.
Basically, i like it. I think the colour scheme needs a bit of revision. (I prefer Mikes colour scheme, but the orange is the only part that bothers me. Maybe try and use the green that the site has currently? Just a random thought) Possibly drop a couple of street fighter characters for a GG char and an SNK char.
And the dicks weren't anything personal. Flying magic green dicks are just what make the world go round.

Exactly. I would have hoped it was fairly obvious that all I did was 'invert colours' to see what it'd be like on a black background, since I don't really like white shirts/hoodies. I was just too lazy to magic wand the logo bit, so that inverted to blue. Not really sure the whole thing works that great on a black/dark bg though, thoughts on bg colours, ppl?

I like green, and it sort of has a 'NZ-ness' about it (or the other way around I suppose), not sure how it would fit alongside that image though.

I think that the logo shouldbe a mechanism with which to draw people into the community. In a way it needs to draw the casual gamer in, so that we can then turn them into a hardcore world warrior. In that light I think we should just try and stick to the most popular characters. Everyone knows Ryu, Magneto, or Jin because those games are mainstream (or in Mags case the cartoon and comics).
However, I don't think that your casual gamer is going to be able to recognise some of the more niche fighting game characters, (eg: KOF, SC4, VF, GGXX) and that by including them we might end up alienating potential new members.
In my opinion the logo is fucking fantastic as is, and I would gladly wear it on a t-shirt/hoodie/pair of underwear. Good work dude!

KOF is definitely mainstream. Theres a reason that there are 800 KOF machines at yifans. GG not so much, but i was just suggesting other options.
A lot of people know who Terry Bogard is... also, ever since CvS2, a lot more people know about SNK chars too
We need to be drawing EVERYBODY in, not just scru- i mean newcomers, I myself would put a character from Street Fighter, King of Fighters, Darkstalkers, Guilty Gear, Melty Blood, Tekken, Marvel and ... Tatsunoko
EDIT: That way, when newcomers look at the logo, they'll recognize 1-4 of the characters, get curious and start asking questions!
