Ya, comic book movies are so hit and miss.
THey're either super awesome, or major ballbags. I think the key for them is to stick heavily to the comic book stories, rather than try and invent or change the original stories. Good examples are the spiderman movies. THe first 2 were pretty close to the original stories for the characters involved, but then Spiderman 3 went and raped Spidey's, Venoms, and Sandmans characters and we were left with that steaming pile of shit.
Im hoping GL is good. I really like the character. Also Weazzey, those actors you talked about are black. The original Green Lantern was a white guy so I think that's why theyve gone with Ryan Reynolds. My only problem with Ryan Reynolds is that he is sort of too much of a funny guy, and can't really carry the serious stuff. I don't know how he can carry the GL character, who in my eyes was the reluctant hero slowly learning to accept the responsibility and power that just sort of lands on him out of the blue.

Fucking great comic. For those that don't know, I'm a huuuuge zombie fan, and this series really hit the spot for me. Really looking forward to the next issue. It's also being made into a live action series and the first episode dropped a couple of days ago. Also a really good watch.
Gonna start ready "Y the last man" now. Looks cool, it's set in a world where every male mammal has died mysteriously, except for one dude and his pet monkey.

One thing I have accepted about reading this comic is that I should never get too attached to any of the characters in it, cause the writer is sure as hell not scared to kill them off.
I finished Y the last man. Possibly one of the best ending's I have ever read. Last 2 or 3 issues are fucking awesome.

I have a whole bunch of Marvel Ultimate TPBs, and all of the Punisher Max TPBs. After reading the Walking Dead ones I got the recent TPBs for that too.
Man Fables is pretty good. I really like Bigby.

I might have to find the Walking Dead comics, me and DVS have just watched 5 episodes of the TV show ,its really good.
I recently read 'Crossed' its like a weird spin on zombie apocalypse where the zombies arent so much walking dead, as raving psychos that kill,rape and dismember everyone. its pretty harcore but well written.
Its by the Garth Ennis (Preacher, Hellblazer etc)

Bro, when i was 10 i had this x men metal card that had venom with this huge as machine gun letting it rip like rambo, man it was fucking mean. He was the normal Venom though. THe bulky guy.

not sure why, but the last venom (mac gargan) has gone back to being scorpion. marvel have said that this new venom is someone from spidey's past and has some sorta relationship with him.
maybe flash thompson, since he was in the army, since it would explain the combat gear.

Wow just finished reading the Marvel Comic it's pretty mint.

Sentinal walks up to Galactus on very hard without his team mates cos he's too awesome for them. He goes straight into Lvl3 XF and kills him with ease. Perfect even. Sents XF still currently running and will be in the next comic too. Where he exterminates the human poulation in 7 days. And dominates the Marvel scene.

Lol I'm pretty good with letting comic related posts be in here. I mean, the whole point of them posting those is like "hey look at this movie is another comic movie". I.e. they're putting emphasis on its made from a comic. Would be pretty shit to have a thread JUST for comic movies. It'd have like, 3 new posts a year. Up to the mods I guess.........

Anyone subscribed to Marvel online? The site is a bit messy to navigate but it seems to have a good selection of digital comics to read. Also you can browse the first 4 pages for free. Can't seem to find a function where you can search by artist though. :-\
