So yeah, where are all of you? So far it's just me and Fluxcore. Haven't seen a post from Jerry or wugga for a while and there are quite a few other people that are regulars in the arcade.

All dead? At least I am.

Just waiting for MT3. CCL is also importing 4 ID4 cabinets - Auckland and Christchurch will get 2 each, so in case if you're hoping that we'll get ID4 as well - stop dreaming.

Tekken6 won't arrive til the end of the year; at least there will (hopefully) be MT3 to keep things going until then. At the mean time, I don't see any point of going to TZ other than harassing the staffs.

Wugga

I'm still around. Probably gonna go to the Time Zone on vic street tonight for the 8pm supersession...

Hrm... I won't make it tonight, but maybe we can arrange a meet at a SuperSession some other time... not that there's a hell of a lot to play there, but anyway...

And I'm sick. I would have gone tonight too.

Wugga

I just got to play DDR really - my workmate has got me into it, I'm lame as hell at it, but the only fighter there that interests me is Soul Calibur 3, and I'm not really into that - doesn't do it for me like the first two. Anywho, I'm going semi-regularly after work, around 5ish. Maybe someone can come show me wtf Tekken is such a popular series.

Because alot of people play it. If there was Guilty Gear or KOFXI and people played them, then they would be popular too! XD

Yeah, the unfortunate state of affairs is that if you want to actually play against someone, Tekken is your only option. It's almost a self-fulfilling prophecy these days - although as i understand it the tekken player base is dwindling as well. That might change a little with the upcoming Tekken 6, but it's hard to see either Tekken gaining significant new ground, or other games coming up to meet it. Hamilton in particular hasn't kept up with any current 2d games, so they are completely out (the Guilty Gear and KoF series are still hitting highs, gamewise) - and the other 3d fighters are getting less and less interesting (with the exception of Virtua Fighter 5)...

As you say, SC3 sucks big time, although I thought SC2 was pants as well.

Your only option is to get into 2d fighters and join Gino and Myself playing on my arcade cabinet :D

Not meaning to hijack the thread, but here in Wellington Tekken is totally dead (atleast at the arcade with 3s, I never go to the other one). 3rd Strike is the only game with a player base, however, other than 3s, and T5:DR there is only Hyper Fighting and a mame cab =/

I'm gonna go ahead and assume that that isn't at the local arcade though.  :P
GGX2#R was just made backwards compatible for the Xbox 360, but it's region locked... grrr, looks like I've gotta start searching for an import copy of that.
