Forum Rules


Section 1 - General

NZism tries to be pretty liberal, however some rules do need to be defined. These may be changed at any time, however a notice will be posted of any such changes.

Any questions or suggestions may be posted in the Feedback forum.


Section 2 - Posting

1) Do not create threads/posts/avatars etc that attack other members/mods/admins or groups of people. Do not threaten other members with physical violence or otherwise. This is not only against the rules, but extremely stupid in a legal sense.

2) The linking to or posting of anything overly pornographic on the generally accessible board or avatars is strictly forbidden. Please use NSFW tags and don't image link if what you're posting might be considering somewhat pornographic or inappropriate for viewing in some places. This is a matter of courtesy to your fellow forum members.

3) Any warez/rom links or posts are strictly forbidden. Discussion of such topics is allowed, however any content which may bring NZism into a position of liability will be dealt with on a case-by-case basis.

4) Excessive spam, trolling or non-contributing posts are forbidden. A forum filled with useless posts is not something anyone wants to read.

5) Racism is a delicate subject and may be discussed, but threads or posts that are made to be demeaning to any particular race are NOT allowed. This goes the same for issues on sexual orientation. As a general rule, anything used in a clearly derogatory form or context is strictly forbidden.

6) Do not re-post a thread that has been closed or deleted. The mod had their reasons for closing or deleting the thread so do NOT go and make another one. And do NOT make a thread cursing out the mod that closed your thread. If you want to know why a thread was closed then PM a mod and ASK. On a side-note, if you do decide to PM a mod and ask, then ask NICELY.

7) Quote only relevant parts of a message, and remove image tags. Not doing so wastes bandwidth and clutters up threads, especially if there are several images.

8) Don't derail a topic to talk about what you want to talk about. It's rude and disruptive.

9) No cursing in thread titles, or excessive swearing in general.

10) The Buy & Sell forum is for fighting game/arcade related items only - it is not trademe nor intended as a trademe advertising board. While there is some leeway on this (for example, a TV specifically good for fighting games), we don't want to see the entire contents of your flat listed.


Section 3 - Punishment

The NZism administrators reserve the right to edit, delete, move or otherwise manipulate any thread or post. We also reserve the right to remove, restrict, or otherwise edit any user's access to the forum or site.

Breakages of the above rules will be dealt with by using any means available to the administrators, including (but not limited to) banning (permanently or temporarily), warnings, and the removal of the ability to post and/or read certain forums.

All cases will be dealt with by the administration team, but public feedback is essential. If you have an opinion, make your voice heard, we welcome all submissions on any topic.

If you have been warned by a mod, responding by calling them names is the FASTEST way to get banned without your side of the story being heard. If you disagree with the mod then INTELLIGENT discussion via PM is the best way to present your case.
