Hahaha - hopefully now with his improved pokes and new "I'll punish any fucking thing you do" ultra, the Chun match won't be so god damn retarded.
was it ever that bad in teh first place??? sometimes its more player dependant than matchup.
I don't see simonfish Abel having a hard tiem against Chun's....

But not the one it needs right now.
So we'll hunt him.
Because he can take it.

A good chun can be really hard to get in on - all her pokes beat out Abel's clean or trade in her favour. Abel doesn't really have any options that can cover more than one of chuns, so you're forced to guess a lot of the time, and because chun can dish out a ton of damage, Abels life pool isn't as big a deal as it would be in say... the Rose match up - I think the Chun/Rose vs. Abel match is very similar, but because Rose simply can't dish out as much damage as Chun, it makes it a little easier. Abels best tool at mid range (ex CoD) loses BADLY to neutral jump combos, and since there's fuck all else that Abel has at mid range, Chun only really needs to watch out for that, jump on reaction and punish away.

You're right in the sense that in Chun v Abel, you really have to know the opponent, which makes a big difference... knowing whether they'll back dash, cr.short or EX bird when you're on the offensive certainly helps, but again, it's more of a guess than anything, since there's no real tool of his that covers multiple options.

No offense to any of the Chun warriors here, but I'd say Simon doesn't have much problems with it because Simon is fucking beast - he's a flat out better player than most people in the country. Myself ? I'd say I'm average at best, so when I play someone who's much better than me (Skullator, Pjai, or your Chun for instance) it's much more of an uphill struggle.

Nah man... it doesnt matter bout matchups... you just gotta practice practice...

Its not the character, its all about the skill.. this is a true fact.  Doesnt mattter who you use.. if you believe in your skills you can become a champion.

not starting anything so chill.

Electric,
Ur right about one thing is the skill level gap btw players that makes teh difference, i.e ur as an average player against an just above average player. Then of course you wil have a hard time even if ur char matchup is like 6-4 to ur char. Therefore I am stating its more of teh player that is the concern.
You will always be bias with player skills and matchup as players differ all the time with teh char they use, hence why I always put it as player specific rather than matchup specific though I am not saying we can't ignore matchup totally as it also plays a good percentage game along with everything else.

love Lenny's sarcasm. :)

AMEN.

This shit is a mind game as much as a who can do quarter circles faster game...Sure sum characters may require more effort...but if you let it show and you're not downloading your opponent in real time...you're toast!

Practice practice...

This is true.  When I play online at vanilla I see lots of sagats all the time. But because I  practice and know how the sagats play I can beat them all the time.

Pople have to remember that when you play you are playing against a person and that if you are stronger in the game than the other player you can beat them 100% true.

Look at Iyo in japan using dhalsim he was able tto become champion and dhalsim is supposed to be low tier.  This is because tiers and matchups are just things made up by bad players that need tto learn the game more.

I wouldn't agree more and you know what? since this comes out from you and not me, people will actually try to understand rather than Flaming each other :)
