Yeah I think I'll be running it in 4:3 mode, MvC2 is far too crucial to know where the edges are for guard breaks and whatnot...
If youre running at 4:3 and your opponent is running 16:9 wouldnt there be some issues? Although i guess if all they did was widen the VIEW on the camera it should be fine.
More importantly, 3'10", Lightning Storm chips iceman. O_o
Exactly, they just widened the view. The 16:9 game is just the 4:3 game with the viewable area extended, the game play space is exactly the same. i.e., if you push your opponent to the corner of the playable field, there's actually a bunch of stage that you can see past the edge. To me that sounds quite annoying.
Can we still download this thing off PSN? I was searching on the site and couldn't find it. Tell me now so I don't get upset when I go home and try to dl it
You have to get it from the U.S PSN store.
Yeah, I have an acc, was just wondering if it was on like a limited time download sort of thing
Yeah I really wouldn't be surprised if the demo doesn't show up on the EU/NZ store at all, and that the purchasable MvC2 will be 6 months after the xbla release. This is just going off all the other Capcom releases... SCEE are dicks.
ICEMAN TOOK CHIP DAMAGE
I saw it too, maybe they considered it a glitch?

ICEMAN TOOK CHIP DAMAGE
I don't play iceman enough to know what things he takes chip damage from - I know he does from some things (sentinel drones?)
I presume you mean that he didn't use to take chip from lightning storm? Really not sure. TBH really don't care either. Anyone using him, sucks to be them before, sucks to be them now. :P
i reckon this games too old for me to start getting into it now but i'll buy it anyway because i always wanted it free play.
It's never too old! I'm just starting to get into it too :3
Exactly.....trust me this game is fun :P
56 Character man...to use.....wot more u wana ask.....
Every player is counted ::) ::)
From low tier to god tier every single character and team made up is playable..
Looks pretty fun, will have a look into getting it when its released
See if you still think it's fun when someone infinites your first character with iron man, then guard break -> infinites to death your next two characters as well...
But yeah, it is a really fun game. As long as you accept that it's full of broken bullshit.

Iceman didn't take chip damage from any 'energy' based attacks before. My issue is, if they fixed that aspect of iceman, how do we know they havent 'fixed' anything else on the sly?
I heard they changed Ankharis snap back

lol....i think this game helps build character.....and rage meter....lots and LOTS of rage meter
It does help build character actually, you're quite right. MvC2 was the first game that I actually started to think in a non-scrubby fashion - that the shit that's in the game is in there to be learned and used. And abused, if it works. It completely changed the way I play fighting games.
Yea! Trying to learn the iron man infinite lol

Its easy. Since youre new, pick psylocke and bait. Her anti air assist puts them at perfect infinite height. Once you can do that over and over, grab doom or learn some solo setups.
<33 I'm so bad I can't even repeat it more than 3 times =____=

Also, the first 2 repetitions can work even if your timing is off. Id say youre mistiming the whole infinite. Only slightly though.
The infinite is lp, lp, PAUSE, lk, uf.HP.
The best way to time the pause (at least for me) is to notice Iron man shoots a wierd 'spark' out of his hands on the second lp. This is just his aerial middle punch animation. You need to hit the lk as this animation is ending. Takes a bit of practice, but youll get it.
So are they redrawing this?
No they are just using filters to cover up the pixelation, like some emulators do. God could you imagine how long it would take them to redraw all the characters after how long it took them to do HD:Remix which has about 1/4 of the characters MvC2 has.

I do remember seeing a rather dubious looking Psylocke animated sprite that was redrawn a little while ago. Although that was most likely the work of an over excited fan.
fuck the IM infinite, just pick cable and SHOOT!
Exactly even Samuraiblack know da solution already...y not....
I feel as though new players will be quick to pick this game up but even quicker to put it down
I mean stuff i learned took me ages to get and after a taking few infinites or spiral traps people will quit
Such a steep learning curve in this game the difference between good and average is massive
and for the IM ifinite its lp,lp on the way up slight pause lk,u+hp and the hp can come out as your just about to land
Real men infinite with Strider.

Shit yes. Imagining a player starting this game now is pretty horrible. It is however an amazing game to learn, because you really can't scrub out in it - anything goes, you have to learn and deal. There aren't many games I've spent SERIOUS time in training mode for, but MvC2 is one of them.

;D Ya ya once u bored always a new team to learn
I'm gonna get this game again. I had it on Dreamcast but never played it. I probably won't play others competitively, well I mean I won't play them and expect to win. But I just love the Marvel game sprites and hopefully this game has a gallery mode. :(
I wonder this there any chance that they might release Third Strike HD remix?
I reckon if they cash in enough, theyre gonna start dropping all the old 2D games.
Easy as hell.... bugger all development needed. Just slap somne ggpo netcode in there and theyre away!
Clearly not a software dev :P
