So its uni holidays which means all day I play games until its time to do something (gym, league, drinking etc) Its awesome and a good way to put on some weight just in time for winter ;)
Started playing Resident evil 4 PC today with all the mods, Looks real nice. About 5 minutes into it going to try finish it before payday (Wednesday) then its time to buy a 360.
And on the DS got this cool hombrew puzzle game. Puzzobomb or something, 5 Stars no contest.

@Cptmunta: Ohhh nah its not custom firmware its a flash cart that has a small slot for a micro SD card. I got the R4 will show you on Friday. You just load games on to the SD card and put it into the flashcart. Man bad explanation I'll just link

I unlocked egyptian and 007 mode when I was 11. Proximity mines was the shit, making them invisible was broken. I still remember screen watching to see who started in the toilets in Facility then quickly running there haha good times..

3d dot game heroes looks awesome but I can't help but think it should have a bit cheaper. They're using 15 year old game mechanices/ideas and while the stylised graphics are cool they're far from cutting edge. I'd buy it for $49 but not $99.

It's not really a game, just a sandbox. Two modes: Creation and survival. It is currently in really early development stages but that should changes in a month when the guy starts working on it full time.
The creation mode is simply that, create whatever you want out of blocks, make an island, a fort, characters or be a giant dick and destroy other peoples creations (but don't....)
The survival mode starts you in a hut. You have to get sticks to make a shovel, axe and pick-axe. Once you have those you can begin to mine and try and survive the zombies, spiders and skellingtons that attack. I recommend reading the wiki to understand how crafting works. After that your on your own.
There is multiplayer of both. It is a great game to relax and play, not much stress. yay!

Playing Viewtiful Joe Double trouble on the DS. Really fun game dispite having only 2 enemies on screen at once and unresponsive touch screen issues. So much better than VJ Red Hot Rumble on psp.
VJ on gamecube is one of my favorite games of all time. Rainbow Ved my way through that game on all but the hardest setting. Had tons of fun unlocking all the extra characters. loved the level deign and didn't mind replaying it one bit. PS2 version had Dante as a selectable character just not such a solid frame rate from what I can remember.
VJ 2 was a bit naff. Just the same game but with less clever levels. Slivia was selectable but was boring and pretty useless. Hope VJ gets another release. Clover were awesome. Godhand rocks!

IIRC the creator of VJ (also responsible for DMC and bayonetta) has said that it is one series he'd like to complete with a third game. too bad clover no longer exists. theyre platinum games now and owned by sega. im desperately hoping sega lets them revive alex kidd ala VJ/godhand style :D

yeah Alex Kidd is really underated internationally. I made a mugen character with him once be had a super where he'd run over you with his bike. And a fireball with his ring. Gave him Gill's voice just for Lols and wanted to make him awesomely over powered.
As for pop make sure you make a backup save every few saves before you go off and complete the game. No turning back to grab light things after clocking it. Otherwise you have to start again to get 100%
Thought that pop game was boring. Currently replaying RDR again as a bad guy. Great game :)

yeah, the funny man was alive again and i managed to finish that strangers quest. also, finished the main story of RDR, making a start on multiplayer. gang hideouts are way harder :/

Unbricked PSP and am playing Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker. So far I'm really digging it. Seems more to the point than the other metal gear games, just like how metal gear 3 was, which was my favorite in the series.
Can you play peace walker multilayer? I just got it for my PSP and it is pretty awesome, real big fan of Metal Gear so it really can't go wrong for me.

I really liked inFamous but I think it's because I liked the character and setting and just fucking shit up all over the place. I just don't like FPS games at all and most 3rd person shooters just feel to clunky. Although 3rd person >>> 1st person.
Haha yeah I cop a lot of shit for not liking Uncharted 2 but I just don't get it. I wouldn't even bother playing a 3rd one. I loved Assassins Creed 2 though. Maybe I do like some 3rd person games but from the look at Transformers it won't be one of them.
Back to Red Dead Redemption.
TF does look very much like a Gears of War but with Robots, so ultimately, its probably going to be everything you dislike about an FPS/3PS. Which is fair enough.
For those that enjoy them though, it looks very much like it will be a good example of one. And transforming looks like it brings a fairly fresh addition to the gameplay, as does the character customisation in multiplayer.

I went and brought GTA Lost and the Damned and Ballad of Gay Tony to play after RDR.
GTA4 is probably my least favourite game of all time, of the games that i have payed for. To this day i still havent finished it. I guess because i was expecting something as awesome as San Andreas, and it didnt really deliver imo. Did the expansions actually add any more depth to it? I never really bothered to read up on them.
yeah fuck, it was super hard to stay interested in gta4. i didnt even get very far into it, so i just traded in for credit towards RDR :D

Well I actually thought Nico was the best main character yet and I loved the story/characters but I'm a sucker for movies like Eastern Promises etc. and the whole Russian Mafia type thing. Plus Nico was just a fuckin' badass. The controls make me want to rage sometimes though.
Some of the gameplay elements got a bit tired ie. the constant fuckin' phonecalls from your friends wanting to hang out.
I played 10 mins of The Lost and the Damned and loved it. It's like playing in an episode of Sons Of Anarchy (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sons_of_Anarchy) my favourite TV series in ages. My old man was a Hot Rodder/Biker, I grew up around Hot Rodders and Bikers so I think I'm probably into it a bit more than most.

yeah, i dont mind the hair grown out a bit. and the fact they kept the weird design on his pants. its the voice thats a bit of a let down. i hope if you can still play as a bad guy, that the visual differences will be more than being pale and dirty.

I hate the update looked, I don't want to play as " generic Xtreme sports dood" Cole I want to play as badass tortured Cole again. Oh well if it ends up being as good as the first one I'll get over it.
My bet is they will explain some of this with the fact that in the story for the first Cole learnt to time travel.

Still playing Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker. Damn good game. Game is crack.
Great story and really dig the comic book style cut scenes. Really like how the story follows on from metal gear 3. Also full of radio cut scene content tn distract you and a nice time wasting very basic micro managment game. Not as many forced cut scenes that you have to sit through and all the filler is completely opitional.
Plays pretty well, you get semi used to using the face buttons to aim after a while and the enemies kind of mix it up a bit part way through the game.
If you've got a psp it's a must play

I just finished bioshock 2, that's an alright game i guess. I just don't know why they make it so incredibly hard that you constantly fucking die only to respawn , backtrack to the enemies and their health is the same as when you died fighting them. That seems pretty retarded if you ask me.
I also finished a playthrough of Heavy Rain. The ending was an incredible twist that had me like WTF. *SpOILER** Why the fuck was that dude having blackouts and waking up with an origami in his hand? This was to make the twist better but was a fucked up coincidence if you ask me. I knew he couldn't be the killer but why the blackouts and origami? That is truely fucked up.

I just finished bioshock 2, that's an alright game i guess. I just don't know why they make it so incredibly hard that you constantly fucking die only to respawn , backtrack to the enemies and their health is the same as when you died fighting them. That seems pretty retarded if you ask me.
I also finished a playthrough of Heavy Rain. The ending was an incredible twist that had me like WTF. *SpOILER** Why the fuck was that dude having blackouts and waking up with an origami in his hand? This was to make the twist better but was a fucked up coincidence if you ask me. I knew he couldn't be the killer but why the blackouts and origami? That is truely fucked up.

FF6 is the truth damnit!!! All of the other traditional FF games don't stak up to this one for me. I like it how there are so many characters, but every single one of them has a great story, and it always feels like no matter which characters you use, that they are just capable of being the main character as any other character.
Also Kefka reminds me of the Joker. And Joker is awesome, therefore Kefka is awesome.
FF7 > FF6. Big time.
I love how the first thing he does is Mind control Terra and have her kill a bunch of his own soldiers for kicks.
And then the second thing he does is set fire to castle Figaro.
And the third thing he does is wipe out the entire population of Doma by poisoning their water.

And i disagree there Rory. FF7 was awesome, but i just felt that i enjoyed 6 more. FF6 with triple triad and chocobo breeding would be possibly my favourite game of all time. I liked the arena in FF6, but fucking chupon pissed me off. And i remember it taking me ages to beat seigfried to turn my ragnarok sword into illumina.
FF6 for traditional.
FF7 for Magic/Technology new age.
Both are awesome for what they are. :D

Valkyria chronicles one of my fave games of all time! The behind her blue flames DLC is great too, get's you a sweet mission with Selvaria and her Ruhm rifle for one of your Shocktroopers (Rosie!) to use lol.
VC2 just came out a week ago on PSP, definitely recommend playing that too if you have a PSP, and VC3 just got announced as another PSP title at Japan's game show this week, good shit!

Hired out DBZ Burst Limit for PS3. Gameplay seems pretty simplistic but graphics look amazing. Really wish PS3 would have more cell shaded games.

yea ill be getting those extras soon especially the one with Jann lol dude is awesome. A lot of people have complained about Valkyria Chronicles 2 and 3 being on the psp. But the 1st one was really good I will probably get both anyway.
I also just finished watching the anime of Valkyria Chronicles, kinda disappointed really. The only cool thing about the anime were the battle scenes but they were too short imo and of course Jann was awesome.

I also just finished watching the anime of Valkyria Chronicles, kinda disappointed really. The only cool thing about the anime were the battle scenes but they were too short imo and of course Jann was awesome.
I was a little disappointed when I first heard 2 would be on PSP, but honestly soon as I picked it up and started playing it, my worries were gone. It feels JUST the same it being on PS3, everythings translated across to the portable system flawlessly, and valuable additions are made to the formula.
I've spent 30+ game hours on it so far, and still havn't finished.
Was a tiny bit disappointed finding out 3 would be on PSP too, only because SEGA said if 2 sold well then they would make another PS3 title, but honestly I can rest easy now know how little difference which system it's on makes. Fingers crossed for the fourth to be back on the PS3 hehe.

Well it seems you're trying to get the highest mean possible if I read it correctly. You want to be as close to 350mm I guess. So I guess if you worked out the value of 20% left to the mean using mean 350mm and SD = 2.2mm then setting that to your mean would be your answer, as the bell curve is symmetrical. I don't remember how you calculate that stuff in high school(?) but looking on Wikipedia you can use this massive as formula: f(x) = 1/sqrt(2πσ2) * exp(-(x-μ)2/2σ2
Sound like it makes sense but I haven't done any stats since high school 2 years ago. So use that mean and SD and find the 20% mark (I'm sure you learn some methods that do that or I think the GC can do it) then subtract the mean off that new value and use that as your answer, since the 2 bell curves will be the same, just shifted that 20% value should go up to 350mm.
Hmm so I tried putting it in my GC (can't remember exactly how to do it though), but for some reason that method returning ~30%. Either I forgot how to use the area finding one, or the one that finds the point or something.

This is the normal distribution bell curve. Roughly. The middle value on the x axis is the mean, and each other value on the x axis is how ever many standard deviations away from the mean a particular percentage is.

To work it out, you need to work out where on the x axis the 80th percentile sits. Fucked if i can remember HOW to do this formula wise, i just, by coincidence, happen to remember the value from a problem i did in school. Which probably doesnt help you, particurlarly if you need to show how you worked the value out in your paper.
Anyway, this is the point where you want 350mm to be, since 20% of the results will be above it, and the exact value is 0.8416 standard deviations. Bout time my ridiculous memory for numbers payed off.
To get your average, you simply multiply your standard deviation of 2.2mm by 0.8416, which gives you 1.85157. If you subtract 1.85157 from 350, you get the value that youre after. 348.1484
Edit: I THINK Masons formula for working out where that percentile lies is correct, but im not sure, and cbf testing it. I mustnt have been paying attention that day in high school. Although admittedly, there are a few values in that equation that you dont actually have at the stage you would be using it, so i dunno.
Edit2:Im confident with my answer. I just checked it on a standard deviation calculator online. its 348.14843 if you want to be super accurate.

Just finished Castlevania Lords of Shadow.
Not reallly a spoiler, but the end was horrible. The game really comes right at about chapter 5-9 then falls to shit and should've ended there.
The combat is kinda shit but ok, it looks amazing, and the voice acting is good, except there is barely any dialogue which is a real pity. Story wise it's decent but would've been 100% better if it was based around SPOILER dracula being the main bad guy. oh well.
Ending movie leaves something possibly a lot more interesting than the game ready for the first DLC or the second game, but I've already returned it.

Yeah I did, played through it once and didn't feel like it had the 'civ factor' to me - don't really have any desire to play it again atm. Unlike pretty much every other entry in the series. In other words, kinda disappointed with it.

3rd night playing, turns out if you dig deeper into the generated caves (rather than carving your own hole), you can find more underground caverns. Last night I found a lava stream flowing into a waterfall.
Instead of digging some stairs down, i thought i'd jump in the underground waterfall. it took me deeper, darker. zombie groans and skeleton shuffles in the distance.
was running low on torches and picks, i had a sliver of red on my last pick as i finally found my way back up.
might jump on the nz minecraft community server and check it out.

Anyone played Scott Pilgrim game? I downloaded the trial. It sort of plays like a cross between River City Ransom and the Konami Simpsons game. The art is really and format of the game is really cool but the fighting just doesn't feel that satisfying. Also as far as I could tell the characters are exactly the same. Just wondering if anyone else downloaded the full game and found the experience to improve after a while.

Its average to be honest I got the full game since i loved the comic book and the movie.
Games too hard till you level up your attacks then its too easy, not bad for 400 if its still half price.
The characters play almost identically as well and there is not much to the enemy characters

Yep that's the one. I played it when i was in intermediate. Fun and hard and annoying when playing with my cousins(when i had to jump a ledge they move back making the screen move back letting me fall to my death :'(). Didn't finish it back then lol. But its definitely a lot easier now since i don't spam Cutter too much now :D.

I can't wait for this game, been a fan since GT1. But man the delays have been annoying but as long as the online match making is sweet as the wait will be worth it. I just got all golds for beginners class. Moving onto the next difficulty, Amateur I think. Done a few special events, Karts are fun. Haven't tried online yet.
Still undecided, was a bit miffed that damage isn't on all cars. Would rather have all cars or no cars. Makes all the 'standard' cars (which is roughly 80%) feel so inferior to the 'premium' cars.

Yeah bro, hard. It's a total driving sim though, no story/career mode just the same old GT mode which consists of buy car to enter event, do event, take prize money and buy new car, enter next event, rinse and repeat. The only variation is if you want to enter the Pick Up Truck race and there are none in the second hand dealers, then you just have to go and do a different race and wait for a truck to show up later.
The driving model is AWESOME, all the cars handle completely differently and even small amounts of tuning can make a big difference. Love my RX7 with street tyres and no traction control around Trial Mountain. Drift time yeaaaahhhh! Or the same car around the Tokyo night course. Or my souped up Mini Cooper around the Top Gear test track.
If you're looking for a driving "game" with "personality" don't buy GT5 but if you want a mean driving sim get GT5! You will need a wheel though, I tried it out with a controller and it's all twitchy and overly sensitive but with the Logitech wheel it's a whole different game!

Game is pretty sweet. Some moments of side quest you have to do before a main story arc but other than that pretty decent game.

Ah yes. I like both of those. Harvest Day is the one with a Apache and Blackhawk for US, and Havoc and Hind for RU? I like that one, cos I'm a pretty good pilot, IMO.
Well no, I have good days and bad days, but before I stopped I was pretty legit.
I 1v2'd the RU choppers, and took out the Havoc and Hind in my Apache, with no co-gunner, the first time I hopped in it after the update. Felt good man.
I have the gayest server problems. I can connect to whatever, but then play for like 5 minutes, and then drop. Then if I join again I play with no problems.

I hired it out for a day, was pretty fun. Connections were good with heaps of people playing though pretty much gotta grind heaps before you have any decent weapons. AK47 is like 10x better than anything else and you gotta get rank 50 to get it iirc. Gonna get it on PC most likely though.

Lol I'm a pretty big war shooter fan. I'd say it's at best on the same level as MW2 was. Has a few up sides which sorted out the massive problems that MW2 had, but it has a whole lot of new ones which just make the game unbearable.
AKs-74u? Prepare to die to this 10x more than any other gun. Super haxor specs, and early unlock means you pretty much just die to this and nothing else. If not that, then it's the Famas, which is the other noob gun (good specs, AND early unlock.) TBH, I preferred dying to the Scar and ACR a lot more than those two fucking guns. And the ACR had 100% accuracy. No shit. (Recoil and bounce settled before the next shot left the gun. Full auto can outsnipe snipers.) At least IRL, the Scar-H and ACR will fucking roll you.
What else... Yeah they were using "guns will no longer be unbalanced, and there will be no 'good' guns and 'bad' guns, just different guns" as one of their pitches. Bull fucking shit.
Umm... Ded servers are better than hosting and IWnet matchmaking IMO, but no party making means MP with friends is fucking horrible. Latest patch at least introduced the option of server admins allowing team swap but before that it was just random draw as to what team you and your friends were put into every round.
Somewhat fixed now, but early coding errors made the game so laggy, it was like playing CoD: Slideshow.
That's all I can think of now. Basically, it's got an ok campaign, but it didn't feel as satisfying as MW2's. The extras is where it shines, as I pretty much keep the game installed for Zombies. Dead Ops Arcade is fun too. The MP is ok, but it def sucks if you wanna play with friends. And IMO, not as well made and polished as much as MW2's; as broken and unbalanced the guns were.
Don't get MoH. It is really, really, really shit. Made by Dice, who I usually like, but it feels and plays like a shitty half made version of a Battlefield game.
Just get Bad Company 2 lol. A few connection errors which I have nfi how to fix, though I know it's possible. But apart from that, I find its the most enjoyable to play.

Perks are faggoty things that make the game more casual. But yeah you can get stuff like second chance which means if you get killed (by like a non-headshot or something) you go into a lying down stance and pull out your pistol. Definitely one of the better ones, you get 3 perks, 1 from each category. M16 is probably a real good primary to start with, I used that all the way up until I unlocked the AK74U which I prefer to use in slightly smaller maps. As you level up you unlock stuff like "Create a Class" where you get to customise everything, that's like level 5 or something. I prefer playing games with HardCore on which means there's no HUD and everyone dies in like a shot or 2, kinda like SWAT. Once you get higher levels you can join games with perks disabled and other things like that.

oh true at the perks info, so i'm guessing the higher the level you are, the more better perks you unlock or something?.....i'll make the switch to m16 then see how that goes. I've been using the assault so far.

yeah bro i'm enjoying the perks thingy, i use ghost, steady aim and hacker and i start ripping shit up ;D i'm loving this game more as im getting the hang of how it's played, so far for me it's more about map control/awareness using the environment to your advantage than the run n gun/I'll out BR you style that i'm use to in halo.

MW2 is CoD6, cause WaW was 5. So they are up to 7 now, but as if CoD3 counted, it wasn't even on PC.

It was a 15gb download because I suppose all the game files are all on the disc, which you don't have.
As far as how it plays, I've only played it a little bit. It's like, a MMO with combat like a brawler, mini god of war/diabloesque hybrid. The setting is great though, Gotham is fucking ridic. Obviously I'm quite a Batman fan, but like it's really neat. Beta is beta though, so a lot of shit is a bit broken. I've been ganked a lot, but PVP is said to be fun however at the moment it's a stunlock fest.
The game doesn't have a great tutorial system, so other than basic combat and doing quests, a lot of the other more endgame things seem quite hard to figure out. The UI works well on a PS3, as well as an MMO could, but if you're thinking of getting the PC version, it's possibly a little awkward because it's definitely optimized for PS3, but the freedom of a mouse would be nice too.
As far as an MMO goes, if you're not into them, it's still good. I haven't got past level 9 yet (cap of 30) but it's fun so far. Flying is shit haha, just feels awkward, slow and crap. Superspeed is realllly sick but it's hard to run through doorways in small areas because if you clip the wall you run straight up it. Acrobatics so far is my personal favourite, you run faster than regular, you climb walls, and you can glide when jumping, and double jump. Not only that but with talent points YOU CAN GET A GRAPPLING HOOK AND SHIT OMGGGG. So yeah.
If you're interested Graham, honestly, you should try it out. Not for the addictive mmo bullshit but because if you're a fan of DC or even just Batman it's a lot of fun. Every quest is voice acted, the voice acting cast is INCREDIBLE, MARK HAMILL JOKERRRR, and it plays like a fun singleplayer sandbox game but cooler. There's a bunch of stuff stashed around the cities fulled full of info about the DC universe. It will cost monthly to pay, but $20 isn't a lot, but you get 30 days free with the game to try it out.
If I was a fan of Batman, Superman, or DC, and hated MMO's, I'd still get it. You can level your dude, do some pretty awesome quests, and have a great time and not even care about end game shit.
Also Weazzy I got the 40gb as well haha fucking shit. HAd to delete install for Tekken and BBCS to make room, oh well. Also we'll have some games sometime bro but I'm so shit it'd be wasting your time.

Great game with zero re-playability. Most definitely worth a rental, stunning graphics and ok combat minus the clunky ass shooting. The characterization is superb. Really nice pacing and set pieces.
Got a free Assassin's Creed brotherhood. Never finished AC2 though, hear brotherhood is quite a bit better though.
AC2 was awesome! Want to get AC:Brotherhood but there are so many games coming out, I want to get LBP2 and MvC3 as well.

AC1 was pretty repetitive, but it had a good story.
AC2 was fucking amazing by comparison in terms of gameplay. And it expanded with an even BETTER story.
Brotherhood could have just been attatched to AC2 in terms of story, but there are a few extra gameplay elements in there which make it a nice addition.

Apparently OoT is the best Zelda game. When I hired it and clocked it when I was young I never really liked it. I probably enjoyed Banjo Kazooie better.

Banjo Kazooie was a beast game. The end boss was pretty difficult. Diddy Kong Racing was another beast game by Rare and the end of that game was also really difficult. RARE made all the best N64 games until perfect dark, then they were shit :(
My favourite Zelda would probably be "link to the past" on gameboy. OOT was good, great for it's time, but not the best zelda. Still don't know why majora's mask was so hype. Haven't played a zelda game since wind waker!

fuck yes, invincibilty was a bitch to get. you had to know what guards to kill, and doak had to be in the right place, running diagonnaly to move quicker and detonating the remote mines in mid air.
and when i finally unlocked it my dad kicks me off the n64 so he can use the cheat haha

PD was awesome when I played it, I already owned Goldeneye so that one was a hire. Buying the port on xbox 360 was quite disappointing imo. I owned banjo kazooie and always wanted to play banjo tooie but never got the chance since none of the video stores had it. The other games that i played the shit out of were the wrestling games like wcw vs nwo revenge they were so beastly, had a jam on one recently and it has not aged well.

Damn the closest thing I had to a gaming console when I was a kid were those Warehouse Brick games 99 games in 1!!!(but it was more like a variety of just 5 games lol). Had to save up my paper delivery money for a ps1.
Anyway right now I'm playing Crono Cross, almost skipped this game since a lot of people disliked it. But it isn't bad at all. Also brought all the DLC for Valkyria Chronicles. Gotta say the EX missions are pretty challenging.

Yeah what he said. If you're going around say Luigi's Circuit anticlockwise (normal way iirc) you turn into a hop then tap left 3 times slowly and let go. You should get iirc at least 8 before you get to the straight. Then when on the straight is where you learn the real speed technique called snaking where you alternate your jumps into powerslides. Pick Egg 1 as your cart always, Rob BLS is better on some maps for time trials but it sucks going on the grass and at starting.
I was pretty much best snaker in new zealand when everyone used to play. Tournaments were so much fun.
Mario Kart 64 though, man I played that game to pieces. Sliding on that is way harder and snaking is pretty much impossible.

Bro what about that cheat on the snow stage when you could just go up around the hill and it would count a lap haha. Yoshi stage was my favourite. Seperate's the kids from teh beasts for sure. I was a kid beast though. Diddy Kong racing had better one player though. I don't know what the multiplayer like on that game. I miss the N64 games.
MK64 cheats are pretty broken on some maps. Yeah you're thinking of frappe snowland. There are some maps where there are even stupider shortcuts.
I think this is the funniest shit to watch:
Alot of this whole set is them attempting the shortcuts in every map. Which is why for time trials there's pretty much shortcut times and non-shortcut times. But these guys use their mini turbos so well and their ssmts (straight stretch mini turbos) are crazy. That shit is so hard in MK64. When doing it in MKDS it doesn't turn you as much so that's why you can snake.
Only shortcuts I remember were Wario Raceway, Rainbow Road and DK Jungle. the DK jungle one was so difficult to pull off, I only got it once or twice.

I really like arcade version of ESWAT but the consoles versions were different. The arcade version was very clean and systematic. The console versions were very chaotic. It's like they tried to make things more complicated on inferior software. Doesn't make sense.
ESWAT followed the Sega tradition of no continues on the last stage. This was a bummer because it meant it was harder to memorise the enemies patterns.
Still didn't stop me finishing Shinobi on one credit. BAM!

My first console was either a gameboy or sega master system ii. Built in with Sonic 2 iirc but I was shit scared of that game when I was little. I'd roll down a hill and fly off that hook then sometimes I'd land on a crab and be so terrified. I had shadow dancer rather than Shinobi, that game was cool. I had (still have in my room) a light gun (the one fps doug has) and had shooting gallery and rescue mission. Those games were so much fun. I think I should try bust it out again and see how much I own on shooting gallery.
That's right I need a working DS to finish Chrono Trigger pretty much the only RPG I like.
So what is so special about fallout 3? I played it for like 8hours straight and its the same old shit. I get excited everytime it glitches though. This is the most glitchiest game I've ever played. Enemies floating mid-air, enemies stuck in the ground from the waist up. Pressing reload, and having it reload twice in a row. Randomly crashing. Did they even test this game before putting it on shelves?
Got the willpower to make it further than chapter 2 in Final Fantasy XIII. (Chapter 11 atm.)
Pretty much everything everyone says it is is true. Annoying as fuck characters, battle system is horribly shallow. I mean, I understand why they did it. Doesn't mean it's an excuse for such boring combat. It really is just mashing X. To put it in perspective, I was versing the big boss at the middle of the game, and I needed to take a piss, but it takes ages cos he has bajillions of health so I didn't want to pause it so I just set my Paradigim to Lightning-Ravager, Fang-Sentinel, Hope-Medic, and I took the controller with me and just mashed X while I took a piss (lol the bathroom is on the other side of the wall from my room). Came back, continued mashing X for 10 more minutes, won battle.
It's still a Final Fantasy though, so it's real pretty (cutscenes and gameplay and everything) and the music is awesome. Main theme makes me want to cry.
I still have a working PS1 and a G-con gun. Somebody money match me at Point Blank 2.
Haha Yeah I'm currently playing FFXIII too and I'm up to chapter 7 I think? Yeah I'm pretty much mashed on x throughout all my battles too. FFXIII probably has the most annoying set of chars out of all the Final Fantasies I've played. I pains me that my best char atm is the most annoying for me... Which is Hope. His constant bitching about Snow and blah blah Operation Nora makes me wish I could attack my on party members like previous games.
But yeah like you said it's a Final Fantasy game so I'll keep playing until I've finished it. And' it is indeed a very pretty game... Even on my CRT lol
Paradigms add SLIGHTLY more depth to the gameplay. The only fun part of them though, is thinking up different decks to use.
My god. The characters. Vanille makes me want to slice off my ears and burn them. She's only lucky she got a cute character design. And she gets away with that barely. Hope gets over it eventually but still is annoying as fuck when he's constantly going on about Snow. Snow is just a massive cliche and has no depth to his character whatsoever. I didn't initially like Lightning (mostly before I played the game) but a few chapters in I started warming up to her for some reason, and I kinda like her now. Comment on Youtube made me laugh too. "Lightning went COMMANDO? I'd RAVAGER."
Again, the main theme makes me want to cry with it's awesomely composed awesomeness (specifically the first opening note, and at 1:03). And the battle theme is good too. I like FFVII's battle theme because of it's like, hard rifty kinda tune which I always thought battle themes had to be like. But when the string melody comes up in FFXIII's (you must know the bit I'm talking about) I jizz my pants.
That game is AWFUL. Suzannah and I stopped half way through and just never picked it up again. The story was shit so I don't care that I don't know what happened and I have better things with my life to do than play shit games for the sake of finishing them.

And he's always smoking a massive cigar, and instead of a gay sword thats too big for him he'd have a machine gun that pops out of his chest and shoots little bombs with a yellow angry face on the front of them. Also, he would be bald, no gayass spikey green/blue/red/yellow hair. And the finishing touch, a massive scar down the side of his face that makes his face a constant frown, and also makes his eye like that milky white colour with no pupil. His name would be "Ace Powers".
The villain would be an evil shark that grew arms and legs after having toxic waste from a navy frigate dumped on him. He then rose through the criminal underworld killing everyone until he held the drug trade of "Ivalice". Kids and shit start buying his drugs and Ace Power's daughter dies cause she becomes and addict at the age of 7. He vows to take down "Sharklor" for his daughter.
Along the way he meets up with "Tatanya" a stripper/assasin that falls for him, even though he spends the whole time calling her a bitch and telling her to shutup. When he's low on health she has a limit break that she brings him a sammich and gets his health back, and then he backhands her back off the screen and carries on smashing dudes. For her weapon she has blades that come out of her shoes and she kicks fools with them and stabs them.
The game would be on Kinect, and instead of like random battles etc, you punch, kick, make stabbing motions, and pelvic thrust toward the screen for combat. Everytime an enemy dies, they they explode. Also, you could punch/kick/shoot/stab/etc anyone on the screen at any time. Don't like the price that vendor is selling a phoenix down for? WHAMO!!!! WTF 1000 gil to stay at this inn? FUCKIN BANG!!!! Shit would be cash. Also to access the save game menu you kick Tatanya in the guts 8 times.

I think in general the stories are pretty good, but the character's really grind on me. Hence Sharklor, Tatanya and Ace Powers. But I guess it's what is popular over there so I can understand them having that sort of preference.

Also clocked Army of two 2 with a mate. man, game developers still don't get it. We want co-op on all the FPS's. And there still has to be that element of competing. LIke keep all our stats and shit seperate. Fuck.

Yer bro, i think it's bad. They should do it for every FPS. But they should keep their stats and shit seperate. I remember there was this game back on ps1 that you got exp points and could upgrade your guy and shit. But it was seperate. So killing guys before your mate could kill them was way more satisfying when you kept unlocking the mean guns while the other lazy cunt had shit guns.
In army of two. I was getting 100 kills to my mates 20. He was laughing cos he was running around picking up all the money.
Need more co-op games this gen i reckon. But keep stats seperate and tally up a score at the end of each mission or have things you can only unlock by killing and putting in work. Offline too. None of this online shit. Heaps of games got it online where having it offline woulda made it a beast game.
Nobody wants to play co-op with me anyway cos i rage at them like i'm in a real war and they are slowing me down.

I got given a promo copy from my boss. Shouldn't really be a open world game because it doesn't feel like one. Gameplay wise, I thought it was ok but not fantastic, just a big fan of old gangster films so I really enjoyed it regardless. Thought the prison stint that brought you back to city later on and the Godfather/Scarface-ish montages were a cool touch though, and even though it's been years since I played, and probably didn't even finish Mafia 1, the tie in was still cool.
I agree, if it wasn't a sandbox game it would have actually been better lol. And the only thing I liked was the whole tone it set. The 1920s gangster thing is always pretty cool.
Oh and the story was predictable, but still enjoyable.
yeah pretty much sums up how I feel. Would never have played it if I didn't get it for free/really cheap, but I still had a good enough time that it was worth playing. The music was amazing.

chucked on the master system for some alex the kidd but it seems the data is corrupt and alex only runs left so its unplayable, oh well pretty stoked anyway

Suzannah and I are about half way through the story on LBP2, it's pretty fun. I want to have a go at making a level but you have to invest so much time.

Ok I'm still playing FFXIII and I arrived at Gran Pulse probably last week? I've just been running around doing missions lol I finally finished doing 18 and spent forever looking for mission 19 until I realised that I'm meant to progress through the actual storyline to find it haha
Fuck I've got so much excess CP points now. Damn this game! How dare they cap my leveling up! Ahh well, I've done 29 missions now. How many are there in total anyways?

Like, 40? I ran around on Gran Pulse for a while, but it was just getting loot (even the loot you're meant to be too weak to get) and killing shit that should be too strong. But I didn't do many missions. Protip: just before you go and fight the last battle, there's a bit where there's a Sanctum templar with this ceith dude which you can't stagger, a duo of woodwraith spirit things or w/e (Jabberwocky and Bandersnatch) and a lone no stagger ceith thing all up this ramp thing. Go kill them all for a massive 32,000cp each, and make them respawn just by running down to the save point. That's where I'm grinding atm. Completely leveled as far as I can go before the final crystarium expansion, working my way back up to 999,999cp till I kill the boss, get the last expansion and go rapin the mark missions.

That's what i hate about racing games, you have to pick a car you don't really like if you want to stand a chance. You could never pick the wrx or the mint looking old school cars. You would be racing yourself lol.

Sweet! I'll remember that when I get there 8) I'm up to Chapter 12 and am I the only one who only uses Lightning/Hope (what a fag)/Fang unless I have to use the other chars? These three just seem way better than the other three imo
Yeah Lightning/Fang/Hope is pretty much the best balanced team through the game. What I did though was just stick to them, and levelled them with all the CP I gained, and just let the other three collect it all. Then when I finished the last fight and got the final crystarium expansion, I put it all into Snow's Sentinel tech tree, Sazh's Synergist and Vanille's Medic. Then at the end of the game you've gotten right to the end for those three, and they're like, super Sent/Syner/Medic.

yeah, but how often does that happen? like most rpgs (jap ones anyway) dont really have a visual change when you equip new gear. you just look the same but you do more damage/take less damage etc.
although it is nice when the coolest outfit in the game is also the best one. like ezio in altairs armour.
and it sucks when the best gear looks the worst. like the abyssal armour in darksiders.
Finished Bayonetta, kinda shit. Playing Assassins Creed 2 now and enjoying it. Started Dead Space last night and hah, making some loud swearing noises at surprise necromorphs.
Baroooeee.... Bayonettas is fucking mean game man. It shits on AC2 in my books. I love deadspace. It's so much more scaryier when your blazed.

I liked the game most of the way through then it just got kinda eh. It's obviously a DMC clone but somehow with a shittier story shitty pointless characters. The game itself was pretty fun and looked fucking good though. I'm glad I played it, but I'm also glad I returned it.
I thought it was better than DMC aswell. I though both the stories were meh. I just like all the boss battles and how you can change her hair, and everything that DMC had, Bayonetta had more of. EVERYTHING.
She could change into animals and when she defeated a boss the transformations were epic and had you feeling truly powerful. Playing vollyball with that once huge fucking boss was epic.
Leveling up was more in depth and shit. And actually the story was better imo. Had heaps of different angles of gameplay too. LIke controlling the outta the ordinary shit.
The cut scenes were epic as fuck too. Like Kill Bill with powers. AC2 looks like hercules and Xena sort of shit lol.
AC2 was overated as imo and it felt like i was grinding to just hurry up and clock it to see the ending. Everytime another mission would come up i'd be like 'oh, wtf? When's the ending?'.
Maybe i'm just a sucker for that sort of shit lol. And i didn't get the story at all in AC2. Maybe it woulda helped if i did.
I'm enjoying AC2 mostly because killing people with hidden blades and counters is satisfying, but I've studied the time period and the art of the period and it's really cool to see it all in the game. Combat wise the game actually fucks me off. Whenever I engage in a fight and try to block an attack it doesn't bring out my blade until I start mashing attack and then block, just fucking annoying. The game is a massive fucking grind, I can see that already, as far as everything but the story goes, but I'll probably just do shit when it seems interesting while following the story.
Bayonetta had it's moments, it just got kind of too ridiculous for me, and actually the ending reminded me hella of DMC2. I think you're right, it definitely has shit DMC didn't, but it has had plenty of time to take the good shit out of DMC. The sword was pretty sick though, and so was the panther form, that shit was epic. The whole last few chapters just got ass, just like in Castlevania, it had a sick setting going and then it fucked it up with this ludicrous shit everywhere vortex bullshit. Might just be me though.
It was definitely worth playing tho. I'd keep it and go through and do everything but what's the point with Marvel out this week haha.
I'm banned from playing Dead Space at night cause I yell FUCKKK at shit when it surprises me on the TV, so that'll have to keep til tomorrow. I'm still only on the first chapter and only having the plasma cutter scares me to shit.

Lol KZ3 is pretty fun. Single player gets a bit tiresome in parts. And whenever a vehicle/jetpack/walker etc part comes up, I'm just like "let me walk around and shoot shit already."
Multiplayer is actually quite fun. I swear though, console (shooters) players are just fucking stupider than PC shooter players. From my very first game, (right up till about the 10th or so when I stopped for the night) I kept coming top in team, and pretty much winning the game for the team. I think in my stats I've got almost a 3:1 kill/death ratio.
That being said, I was using the infiltrator class. Imagine the spy from TF2, but with a shotgun that will actually ravage people and not a shitty pistol. People can see through your disguise up close though, so it's not as good as the spys; but when you melee your disguise doesn't go away.
After delays from the recent Earthquake and of course Marvel I've finally sat down and finished FFXIII lol I'm now grinding for more CP by killing Adamantoise and Adamantortoise but the fuckers won't reward me Trapezohedrons >:(
Also for the Treasure Hunter trophy, do I have to presently have all weapons and accessories? Ie I can't sell/dismantle a weapon/accessory that is unobtainable later in the game?

I'm playing dragon quest 9. It's great. the only other dragon quest I've played a lot was 4 I think, and that was great too. I can never get into final fantasy games even tho they are so similar to DQ, not sure why. maybe because DQ takes itself less seriously.

Yeah, gen 5 has some awesome ones and some shit ones. Look at niggas like pineco and luvdisc. This gen has its fair share of awesome pokes and shit pokes just like all the other gens.
I'm actually really enjoying this gen of Pokemon. Cant even really name why but I haven't had this amount of fun playing Pokemon since original Gold/Silver.
Did you play HG/SS. Cause I actually really enjoyed playing through that. Nostalgia + little extras added in from recent games and then when you complete pretty much everything you unlock the original BGM for all the towns. So epic going to Indigo Plateau with the oldschool music.

All generations have had shitters and winners. Can't argue with Gen 1 being the best, but i found Gen 2 was pretty fucking boring in terms of pokemon design, but had by far the best world. Gen 3 I wasnt a super fan of. What the FUCK Blaziken? God that pokemon is gay. Gen 4 they started getting better, and I think Gen 5 is better again. In terms of general design and in terms of the actual game world. That ice cream pokemon is pretty retarded though. And on paper, so is chandelure (its a chandelier wtf?) but at least chandelure looks like a badass nightmare before christmas cast off.

Yeah I played a bit on Pokemon Online when it came out in Japan, but since there were no tiers yet, just played Dream World Ubers. OMG that fucking shandelier or whatever with ghost tag is so dumb. Maybe I'll get back into it... Though I heard gen 3 was getting popular again, which imo was by far the best competitive metagame, wish I could find where I put my teams.

Yea Gen 2 brought some mean shit. SCIZORRRR. But in general things were pretty meh in terms of the new pokemon. I honestly would like to see them bring back all the different pokeballs that work better on certain types etc.

Fight night: Champions + drinks = good times
Really cool game, liked the way how the counter punching works. If you get a really good read you can KO with one punch. See a few times that the first punch thrown ends the fight. Also, they simplified the punch controls. No more qcf on the right stick to do certain punches. I think its like 16 different angles on the right stick that give you 16 different punches.

dont really play alot of fps games since they all kinda bore me, but this one is fun. bit fiddly on the nunchuk+remote controls. might be a little better with the zapper but i have no idea where i put mine. and not really feeling the GC controller for it either. wonder if they classic controller pro is better or something.
havent gotten that far into it, the levels are much longer than expected and im also terrible. just really liking the re-imagining for all of it. only complaint are the takedowns, which gets kinda disorienting at times.
that was fun with 2 or 3 players too. and online was pretty good even tho i got wasted constantly coz I suck at it.

So I have never really played Dota or any of those types of games. Then last night I went to my brother's place to catch up with him and see how he is. he showed me this free game called league of Legends, that is basically a new Dota, and shit is it rad.
Never realised how fun those games are till now. I've been using Nunu, who is a toddler rifing on a Yeti lol.

Nah dota is old. Plus it is a game that was never built for the specific reason of dota. It should be lets play Warcraft 3's custom map dota. I think both LoL and HoN are great games. I would be tempted to put HoN in front though just for the fact that it looks a lot "cleaner" than LoL in its layout and everything. But LoL has a lot more going for it in the competitive sense ESL, WCG etc.
Honestly DotA is still better in terms of hero variety and balance. I'd be playing DotA if these cunts didn't refuse to play. The problem with LoL is you have to consider the cash transactions that go along with it. If you want to play a game for the sake of it being an e-sport I'd suggest not playing any of these and getting into SC2. The problem with HoN is that the devs don't entirely know how to balance things properly and there are a lot of heroes who are good just because they don't have any real counters like they do in DotA.

My understanding with the cash transactions is that you only have to use them for the extra skins, and that you can buy characters with the ip points that you earn by just playing the game.
I like the cartoony look of it, and apparently it is pretty easy to learn, so I'll rock it and maybe play HoN with everyone else when I get the hang of playing this type of game.
What sort of characters are there to play in HoN? I really Like Nunu (The boy riding the yeti) and Twitch(A rat with a gun).
Id rather be killed by someone out skilling me in HoN than by someone who bought all their shit with IRL money in LoL. Does Fon prefer LoL to HoN?

The only thing that makes it better for people who pay in LoL is that you can get the heroes earlier. Eventually you can earn them all and they put up a selection of heroes every week for you to pick from for free.

dota rocks! Addictive game, can relax and intensify with this game. When i first played dota , it løoked complicated but forced myself to play it for two months then it grew on me. Riki my fav lol noob player i knw, but i love invisibility characters .hon looks mean. Mayb lata coz our rhino size flatm8 spilt drink over laptop. Grrr..

I like the visual STYLE of LoL, but the UI seems cluttered, and the way things actually display on screen is messy. Thats my only gripe really. The game is just really hard to look at imo. Might give it a try though. Realistically, when DOTA 2 comes out, everyone is going to switch to that anyway.
I agree Birry Wong the UI is not near as good as HoN. Btw also still playing through MGS4 Big Boss Extreme (No alerts or kills), Red Dead redemption again and MK9

God, I hate DoTA, LoL, AND HoN. All those types of games.
I will never forgive DoTA for taking away all the players for Footmen Frenzy. THAT game was fucking fun.
But neither dota nor footmen frenzy were games, they were just mods! Not even that, custom maps!
O.o DotA was popular even in RoC... Footies just got more and more stupid and people started to realise what a broken custom it was.
Yeah it was dumb, but I had some fun with it. Never got into dota or those other games. I do remember making some dude rage quit at giga on an overnighter at 2am the first time I played dota. He basically wanted to take all 5 of us on (only 2 knew how to play) but we did random teams and the 3 of us who didn't know how to play got on the other team and somehow beat him.
After that he was like "oh ok I'll play something else now. Ummmm, na I'll just go home." And he left.

im using a ps2 controller and a converter. mostly works. little bit iffy using the right analog for the c buttons but its really just like using a GC controller.

Hmmm I could be keen for that offer. Last time a cousin came over a few weeks ago, he wanted to play my N64, I went to set it up and for the first time ever I couldn't get it to start. I haven't had another look at it yet though.
well i'l set it up tonight to make sure its going, also it doesn't have the bit that covers the memory expansion or the bit that covers the slot on the bottom, but i'm guessing you have those anyway?
